The Blue and White list is denying allegations that recently surfaced on social media that party leader Benny Gantz harassed a woman 40 years ago.
The accuser, Navarone Jacobs, who now lives in the U.S., claimed in a Facebook post that Gantz had exposed himself to her in the cowshed at their kibbutz boarding school 40 years ago when they were both minors.
The party said the accusations were baseless and that Blue and White intended to take legal action against Yaakov.
"This is a complete lie. This is a baseless story that is being made up about Benny Gantz. Political incitement has crossed all boundaries. The incident is being handled legally," the party said in a statement.
The Walla news website reported Thursday that Culture and Sport Minister Miri Regev's staff had learned about Jacobs' allegations against Gantz and had helped Jacobs publicize her story.
On Jan. 31, nearly a month before Jacobs published her own post about Gantz, Regev's spokesman, Eli Sabati, made a comment referencing Jacobs' claims.
Regev's office told Walla that her staff had been in contact with Jacobs and helped her bring her story to the media but that neither Regev, herself, nor her staff had personal ties to Jacobs.
