Israel Hayom was founded on the belief that the Israeli public deserves better, more balanced and more accurate journalism. Journalism that speaks, not shouts. Journalism of a different kind. And free of charge.

The newspaper's credibility, and the reputation we have enjoyed from our very first issue, have drawn a range of talented writers to the organization. Our writing staff is made up of leading reporters and columnists, rich in experience, talented in writing and in communicating information in a compelling and thought-provoking manner, and whose professional ethics are beyond reproach.

Israel Hayom is distributed throughout the country to homes, workplaces and in a range of public locations.

According to the latest survey by the TGI market research company
, Israel Hayom has a 39.3 percent exposure rate, maintaining its position as the most read daily newspaper in Israel for the third year in a row.

In just over five years, we have sparked great curiosity among both readers and competitors, and have become an integral part of the busy daily routine of hundreds of thousands of Israeli men and women.

We at Israel Hayom are proud to set clear and precise standards for media coverage:

  • Trustworthiness – We were the first news media outlet to establish a fact-checking department. We check, in advance, every fact and detail that we publish.

  • Transparency – We appointed an ombudsman, an experienced veteran journalist, who is available to the public, and without fear or trepidation examines every complaint, comment and criticism.

  • Full Disclosure – We will not give a hand to "spin," nor will we quote anonymous sources without drawing readers' attention to the sources' reliability.

  • Openness – Readers have an open line to us for comments, criticism and suggestions for improvement. In contrast to our competitors, we will not lock ourselves up in an ivory tower, or hide behind empty claims.

  • Fairness – If, despite all this, we err, we will own up to our mistakes. In contrast to other news media outlets, we will not sweep our mistakes under the rug, and we will print a correction in a prominent and fitting place.
