A memorial was vandalized over the weekend in the in the small community of Gilon, situated in the Western Galilee.
Plaques with the names of Israelis were badly damaged and had Arabic graffiti scrawled on them. Some were shattered and were partially removed from the pillars they had been placed on.
The Israel Police has launched an investigation.
In late September, a memorial for fallen IDF soldiers was vandalized in the Jordan Rift Valley. Some of the aluminum plaques with the names of the soldiers were defaced and removed.
