Some 125 young Jews from the U.S. and Canada who will enlist in the Israel Defense Forces arrived at Ben-Gurion International Airport on Tuesday on a Nefesh B'Nefesh aliyah flight.
The soon-to-be soldiers were joined on the charter flight from New York by 126 other new immigrants.
Immigrant Absorption Minister Sofa Landver attended a welcome ceremony at the airport for the newcomers to Israel.
"We will do everything to make your landing soft and your absorption successful," Landver told them.
"We are full of hope and anticipation for our new lives in Israel," said Cynthia and Matias Mondschein, new immigrants from Argentina who arrived on the flight.
