Palestinians on Tuesday threw rocks at a kindergarten in the Avraham Avinu neighborhood in Hebron while children were playing there. Three children were lightly wounded by the rocks. One of them was Nahala Pas, 10, the sister of Shalhevet Pas, the 10-month-old baby who was murdered by a Palestinian sniper 11 years ago in the same spot.
Medics arrived on scene and treated the children for head and hand wounds. The rock-throwing continued later in the day and was aimed at Jewish homes in Hebron as well as an Israel Defense Forces position near the Shavei Hevron yeshiva building. Settlers in the area protested what they called the IDF's powerlessness in Hebron's casbah later in the day.
Nahala and Shalhevet's father Itzik Pas criticized the IDF on the "Jewish Voice" website. He claimed that the IDF was not doing enough to stop rock throwing, and that it was not the first time that the area had come under attack, citing a similar rock-throwing incident that had taken place on Thursday, in which no one was hurt.
