Dr. Aviad Hacohen, Israel Hayom's legal affairs commentator, is dean of the Shaarei Mishpat Academic College and a senior lecturer in constitutional law and Jewish law at the college and in the Hebrew University's Faculty of Law. In addition, Hacohen is a practicing attorney, and founder of the law firm of Ben-David, Avraham, Hacohen. In the past, he served as a consultant to the Codification Committee of the Justice Ministry, and a judge on the disciplinary court of the Israel Bar Association. He is a member of the committee on legal terminology of the Academy of the Hebrew Language, and chairman of Mosaica — The Institute for the Study of Religion, Society, and State. Hacohen has published scores of articles and studies in the areas of law and Judaism. He has a Ph.D. in law from the Hebrew University, completing his studies magna cum laude.
