An Israeli soldier sustained minor injuries Friday in an attempted ramming attack near the Samaria settlement of Shavei Shomron, west of Nablus.
The soldier was taken to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba for treatment.
The incident took place shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday, when a Palestinian car approaching a military checkpoint near Shavei Shomron sped up and attempted to run over the soldiers standing at the checkpoint.
The driver fled the scene and security forces' attempts to find him have so far proven unsuccessful.
Shortly afterward, a failed ramming attack took place near a military checkpoint in the Mount Hebron area.
No injuries were reported. The driver was apprehended by the soldiers and turned over for Shin Bet security agency for interrogation.
"We offer our full support for IDF soldiers and commanders, and praise their determination," Samaria Regional Council Head Yossi Dagan told reporters.
"We wish the wounded soldier a speedy recovery. The residents of Samaria will not be deterred. We will continue with our settlement enterprise."
