Netanyahu has addressed the annual UN event almost every year since becoming prime minister in 2009.

More than 90% of the votes have been counted in Tuesday's election. Blue and White currently has 32, while Likud has 31.

US President Donald Trump has said that he planned to meet Netanyahu at the General Assembly.

Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz will replace Netanyahu at the world body.
