Prime Minister Naftali Bennett convened a press conference on Tuesday to roll out a national plan to reduce regulation and government bureaucracy.

"Even now, the Israeli public can see how far removed the Knesset is from our real lives. The Israeli public deserve a government that cares about its citizens and doesn't spend all day worrying about itself," Bennett said.

Addressing the failure early Tuesday morning to pass a citizenship bill that would regulate the status and residency of Palestinians married to Arab Israelis, Bennett said "Last night, the opposition made a direct, intentional attack on national security. Out of some kind of bitterness and frustration, they ultimately harmed the well-being of the state."

"Everyone, from Bibi to Tibi [referring to Opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu and MK Ahmad Tibi], who voted against the citizenship bill opted for petty politics over the good of the citizens of Israel, and they will need to answer to the public for their actions.

"Here, too, like with other things they neglected, we will fix the matter. We'll handle it and supply good solutions for the public," Bennett continued.

"We are looking ahead. I want to bring the debate and attention back to the issues we want to promote. At the end of the day, white nights in the Knesset and petty political tricks don't help someone who wants to open a business, shop for their family, or make their money stretch to the end of the month. Our government is a government that cares about its citizens and is working to fix things," Bennett said.
