Regev had tagged current Transportation Minister Merav Michaeli on the post and, alluding to the latter's decision not to require the installation of a system to prevent children from being forgotten in the car, Regev wrote, "Are you taking responsibility for this, Merav?"
The tweet which she later deleted.
"Regev should be stoned after such a thing. That's really enough," Meroz wrote.
After seeing the tweet, Regev filed a police complaint against Meroz, and called on Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit to open an investigation.
Meroz later tried to defuse the situation, writing, "Okay, I wan't really calling for a public stoning of Miri Regev, only virtually. But it is really impossible to continue to come to terms with this woman's statements. She must understand that it cannot continue."
