A construction worker in his 30s fell 18 stories down an elevator shaft to his death at a construction site in Ramle on Sunday.

Another workers also slipped, but managed to grab hold of something in the wall at the 16th floor and stop his fall. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
A representative of the Labor Ministry was summoned to the site, and the Israel Police launched an investigation into the incident.
