The head of Lebanon's powerful Iran-backed group Hezbollah said on Friday the outcome of nuclear talks in Vienna would have no impact on maritime talks aimed at delineating Lebanon's border with Israel.

"The issue of the maritime border, the Karish [gas] field, and the oil and gas issue has nothing to do with the Iranian nuclear deal," Hassan Nasrallah said in a televised speech.
"Whether a nuclear deal with Iran is signed or not, if the US mediator does not give Lebanon what it asked for in terms of its rights, we are heading towards an escalation – we are heading towards a problem," Nasrallah said, without elaborating.
The Hezbollah leader also said that "all eyes should be on Karish, the maritime border, and the American mediator, who is still wasting time, which is running out."
On Saturday, sources told the Lebanese newspaper Al-Binaa that "The resistance will soon send a military message to the Israeli enemy as a response to its policy of foot-dragging and maneuvering around the issue."
The sources said that the "response" would come before American mediator Amos Hochstein's scheduled visit to Lebanon the last week of August.
