Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz disclosed at a local conference of regional council heads that security forces have seized Hamas attack plans targeting communities in Judea and Samaria and along the Seam Zone.

At the conference, Katz stated: "We have captured Hamas attack files aimed at targeting settlements in the Judea and Samaria and the Seam Zone.'"

He further emphasized: "The settlements in Judea and Samaria serve as Israel's defensive shield. When Judea and Samaria is secure, major cities are protected. We must take an offensive stance in Judea and Samaria and decisively defeat the enemy."

Yesha Council's Response: "The October 7 terrorist assault must never be allowed to repeat itself, not in Seam Zone communities, not in the Sharon region, and not in Judea and Samaria. The way to prevent this is through a clear and decisive defeat of terrorism—not merely through targeted counterterrorism operations but through a comprehensive initiative that neutralizes the threat to central cities and Judea and Samaria communities."

"We thank Defense Minister Katz for leading an offensive policy in Judea and Samaria, support his critical remarks, and stress: The settlements in Judea and Samaria are Israel's protective shield. However, alongside defense measures, a firm hand must be taken against terrorism, and Israel must establish full control over all of Judea and Samaria. Applying sovereignty is the strategic solution that will ensure genuine security for residents and for the entire State of Israel," the council added.
