Steve Witkoff, United States Special Envoy to the Middle East, stated in an interview with Fox News Monday night that the US could allow Iran to enrich uranium at 3.67 percent. Israeli officials strongly oppose this position and categorically refuse to accept the existence of any nuclear industry on Iranian soil.

Witkoff is the highest-ranking American official participating in talks with Tehran, working to secure an improved nuclear agreement compared to the one signed under the Obama administration and subsequently canceled by Trump during his first term.

During the interview, Witkoff emphasized that the agreement would focus primarily on supervision rather than dismantling Iran's nuclear infrastructure.

While Witkoff identified weapons proliferation as an issue that must be addressed, he notably omitted any mention of stopping the global spread of terrorism as part of the agreement – a demand that Trump administration officials were still advocating for just last week.
