Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov warned Wednesday that direct US military assistance to Israel could extremely destabilize the situation in the Middle East.
In separate responses, Head of Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin was quoted as saying the situation between Iran and Israel is now critical.

Ryabkov warned the US against providing direct military assistance to Israel or even considering such "speculative possibilities," according to Russian news agency Interfax. "This would be a step that would extremely destabilize the entire situation," he was quoted as saying.
Earlier, a source involved in internal US discussions said President Donald Trump and his team are considering several options, including joining Israel in strikes against Iranian nuclear sites.
On Tuesday, Trump publicly mused on social media about killing Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, but said "we're not going to eliminate him (kill him!), at least not now."
