A domestic flight in Russia turned chaotic this week when a drunk passenger locked himself in the plane's bathroom, consumed alcohol, and proceeded to threaten and attack other passengers and crew members, according to East2West News.
The violent outburst occurred on a six-hour flight from Siberia to Moscow. According to reports, the man barricaded himself inside the lavatory, where he drank alcohol. When flight attendants tried to get him out, he responded with punches, screaming threats and hurling profanities at passengers standing outside.

One flight attendant had to use the plane's public address system to call for help. At least five passengers responded to the plea. In video footage of the incident, the man can be heard shouting: "Shut your f***ing mouth! I'm Russian!"
He then turned to one of the volunteers and yelled: "Why are you acting tough, you d***?" Another passenger tried to calm him, saying, "You've embarrassed yourself enough, don't worry."
The passengers managed to subdue the man, tied him up, and returned him to a rear seat. During the struggle, he suffered a head injury and began bleeding. Crew members provided him with basic first aid.

Even after being restrained, the man continued threatening others: "My guys will come get me, b****! My guys! I'll stab you, whore!"
Thanks to the intervention of the passengers, the pilot was able to continue on the original flight path and landed safely in Moscow. Upon landing, the man was detained by police at the jet bridge. Authorities have not yet announced whether he will be charged with endangering the flight.
The incident adds to a recent surge of violent events on commercial flights. Just last month, a Jet2 flight from the UK to Greece was disrupted when two drunk passengers clashed with the crew.
