Israeli military forces launched precision strikes deep into Yemen overnight, targeting critical energy infrastructure controlled by the Iranian-backed Houthi terror regime. The coordinated attack disabled power generation facilities in Yemen's capital Sana'a, plunging sections of the city into darkness, sending a message to Iran's regional proxy network.

Two powerful explosions rocked Yemen's capital Sanaa during the overnight hours between Saturday and Sunday, according to Reuters reporting. Houthi-controlled sources in Yemen characterized the incidents as "Israeli attacks on the Haziz power station in the capital," resulting in temporary electrical outages across Sana'a. Israeli security sources confirmed that naval forces executed the operation.
An IDF spokesperson confirmed the military operation, stating that the strikes were conducted in response to repeated Houthi terror regime attacks against Israel and its citizens. The Houthi aggression includes launching surface-to-surface missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles directed at Israeli territory,.
The IDF said in a statement on X that it struck "a Houthi terrorist infrastructure site, 2,000 km away in Sanaa, Yemen." It added, "The strike was in response to repeated Houthi missile and UAV attacks on Israel. Directed & funded by Iran, the Houthis exploit the seas to threaten Israel and global trade."

Civil defense officials speaking to Houthi-affiliated media reported this morning that strikes targeted the Haziz power station located in the southern section of the capital Sanaa. The attacks damaged and disabled generators at the facility, according to local sources. Emergency responders successfully extinguished fires that erupted following the strikes.
This operation follows the Israeli Air Force's strikes approximately one month ago against Houthi targets at Hodeidah port during "Operation Long Braid." That previous mission targeted engineering equipment used for port infrastructure rehabilitation, fuel storage tanks, and vessels utilized for military activities and force projection against Israel and maritime traffic near the port. Israeli forces also struck additional terror infrastructure operated by the Houthis, using remotely operated unmanned aerial vehicles to conduct the precision attacks.
