Star Trek star William Shatner was taken to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon after a medical issue related to his blood sugar, according to sources cited by Daily Mail.
The 94-year-old actor, adored by fans worldwide for his portrayal of Captain Kirk, reportedly experienced the sudden health problem while at his Los Angeles residence, Daily Mail reported. When the incident occurred, Shatner contacted emergency services, leading Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics to arrive at his home, Daily Mail wrote.
He was then transported to a nearby hospital to undergo evaluation, and according to insiders quoted by TMZ, he is now "resting comfortably" and feeling "good." Despite his age, Shatner maintains an active career, appearing at pop culture gatherings such as Dragon Con in Atlanta just last month, Daily Mail noted. The outlet added that requests for comment were made to his representatives.

Shatner rose to fame as the Starship Enterprise captain in the original Star Trek, premiering in 1966 with co-stars Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, James Doohan, and Nichelle Nichols, Daily Mail recounted. His return as Captain Kirk spanned the animated series and the first seven Star Trek films, including the well-known Wrath of Khan. Later roles included the 1980s show T.J. Hooker and the comedy Miss Congeniality, Daily Mail reminded readers.
Currently, he remains busy with three upcoming projects listed on IMDb, while headlines also swirled about his personal life as recently as last month when speculation about a possible remarriage surfaced, Daily Mail wrote. His fourth ex-wife Elizabeth Martin, now 66, divorced Shatner in 2019 but the pair reunited during the COVID-19 pandemic, Daily Mail reported.
