Footage reveals New York City mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani being pursued from a Manhattan plaza after protesters accused him of harboring antisemitic views and pressed him to repudiate Hezbollah, Fox News reported.
The footage, posted on X, depicts the mayoral contender cornered at Manhattan's Foley Square on Friday while demonstrators shouted and percussion instruments pounded, with security personnel guiding him across the plaza toward an awaiting car as a demonstrator followed closely behind shouting, "Denounce Hezbollah! Denounce Sharia law!" while other demonstrators could be heard labeling Mamdani an "antisemite" and maintaining their pursuit of him.
Security intervention led guards to establish a protective formation while directing him into a car, which subsequently departed the plaza. Footage captured one demonstrator carrying a flag, appearing to confront what seemed to be another security personnel member.

Foley Square had drawn Mamdani for a speech expressing support for New York Attorney General Letitia James, who received a mortgage fraud indictment this week concerning a Virginia property under her ownership.
Mamdani has faced repeated calls to reject Hezbollah, condemn phrases including "Globalize the Intifada," and denounce Hamas as terrorists.
Tuesday saw Mamdani issue a statement regarding the Oct. 7, 2023, terror attacks in Israel, commemorating Israeli victims and hostages remaining in Hamas captivity. "Two years ago today, Hamas carried out a horrific war crime, killing more than 1,100 Israelis and kidnapping 250 more. I mourn these lives and pray for the safe return of every hostage still held and for every family whose lives were torn apart by these atrocities," Mamdani said, adding: "A death toll that now far exceeds 67,000; with the Israeli military bombing homes, hospitals, and schools into rubble," he stated. "Every day in Gaza has become a place where grief itself has run out of language. I mourn these lives and pray for the families that have been shattered," Mamdani said.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry reposted Mamdani's statement on X, where it characterized him as "acting as a mouthpiece for Hamas propaganda."
"By repeating Hamas's lies, he excuses terror and normalizes antisemitism. He stands with Jews only when they are dead. Shameful," the post said.
