Israeli drives Tesla into coffee shop in bizarre accident

Driver lost control of Tesla on Thursday morning, crashing into Mimi café in Kfar Saba and fatally injuring 35-year-old man. Despite Tesla having Full Self-Driving, this option is still not approved in Israel and thus the accident would have been caused by the driver.

A 35-year-old man was killed after a car drove into a cafe in Kfar Saba north of Tel Aviv. One injured person was evacuated in light condition. Two passersby received treatment at the scene for anxiety symptoms. Despite Tesla cars having Full Self-Driving technology, this option is still not approved in Israel and therefore, the human factor was most likely the only cause of the accident.

Initially suspected as terror attack but determined to be accident – Tesla driver lost control Thursday morning of her vehicle and crashed into the Nono & Mimi cafe in Kfar Saba. Consequently, a 35-year-old man lost his life. Another person sustained light injuries.

An eyewitness stated, "There was tremendous panic. Everyone assumed it was terror attack. Very rapidly it became apparent that this involved accident, with driver who lost control and swerved into the café."

Magen David Adom paramedics Lior Zilvenberg and Guy Goldschmidt and Magen David Adom medic Alaa Gamal stated, "This involved unusual accident where vehicle crashed into business window. The vehicle's front section was inside the business while rear section remained on the sidewalk. Inside the business area lay man in his 30s with extremely severe injury, unconscious without pulse and without breathing."

"We immediately commenced performing advanced resuscitation procedures while simultaneously addressing his wounds and transported him in intensive care ambulance to trauma room at hospital while his condition was critical and life-threatening. Three anxiety casualties from the incident received treatment at scene, including the vehicle driver who was transported for continued medical treatment at hospital."
