As part of the intense strikes the IDF carried out in recent days in Tehran, it was revealed Thursday that the Talkan site – used to develop capabilities for nuclear weapons – was targeted after having been rebuilt following Operation Rising Lion.
Guided by the Military Intelligence Directorate, the Israeli Air Force struck another site within Iran's nuclear program that the regime had used to advance critical capabilities in nuclear weapons development. The Talkan site had, in recent years, been used to develop advanced explosive materials and conduct sensitive experiments as part of Project Amad.

During Operation Rising Lion, the IDF struck the knowledge centers and infrastructure that had advanced the creation of Iran's nuclear weapons. Satellite images taken in recent months revealed engineering work at the Iranian military base at Parchin – linked to the development of the "trigger mechanism" in Iran's nuclear project – and proved that despite the severe damage inflicted on the program, the Iranian terror regime had not abandoned its plans and continued to develop and advance the capabilities required for a nuclear weapon.
According to a report published by the Institute for Science and National Security in October 2025, Iran began rebuilding the site as early as May of that year – before the 12-day war – and continued doing so afterward.
Satellite images from May 20 show that the Iranians rushed to install a black temporary cover over the "Taleghan 2" structure that was destroyed in the 2024 strike, and by June 12, foundation work was already visible in the area, along with preparations for new construction.

The IDF stated, "The strike represents an additional layer in the ongoing effort to deny the regime the core components required to achieve nuclear weapons."
