First lady Melania Trump granted Fox News an exclusive advance screening of her forthcoming theatrical documentary "MELANIA," slated for global cinema release next month. The 104-minute documentary will premiere in theaters worldwide on Jan. 30, 2026, appearing across North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and beyond, Fox News reported. Amazon plans to follow with a companion documentary series in the coming months.

"History is set in motion during the 20 days of my life prior to the US Presidential Inauguration," the first lady told Fox News. "For the first time, global audiences are invited into theaters to witness this pivotal chapter unfold a private, unfiltered look as I navigate family, business, and philanthropy on my remarkable journey to becoming First Lady of the United States of America."

Fox News exclusively secured the trailer, opening with the first lady stepping into the US Capitol rotunda ahead of her husband's second swearing-in ceremony. Dressed in her now-iconic inauguration attire, she states: "Here we go again." The trailer alternates between the first lady and president at the inauguration; the pair standing outside Mar-a-Lago; behind-the-scenes inauguration moments featuring Barron Trump and First Lady Trump's father; various images of the first lady; Air Force One; the presidential seal and more, Fox News reported.

The first lady explained that the story "has never been told, and because the subject matter is historically consequential, it was imperative for me to produce a film of the highest cinematic standard, suitable exclusively in theaters worldwide. The 20 days of my life, preceding the US Presidential inauguration, constitutes a rare and defining moment one that warrants meticulous care, integrity, and uncompromising craftsmanship," she stated. "I am proud to share this very specific moment of my life 20 days of intense transition and planning with moviegoers and fans across the globe."

Fox News confirmed the first lady remained involved "in every aspect" of the film – from her "creative vision," to serving as producer and ensuring proper post-production marketing execution. Sources told Fox News she maintained a "hands-on" approach throughout. The film was produced in a "highly cinematic" style. Sources told Fox News the first lady wanted the film to appear as an "elevated film" rather than a documentary. First Lady Trump conceived the film idea in November 2024, after President Trump won the election.

Marc Beckman, First Lady Trump's agent and exclusive senior advisor, led negotiations with Amazon, specifically CEO Andy Jassy, beginning Nov. 18, 2024, according to Fox NewsFox News confirmed Disney sought exclusive rights; Netflix and Paramount also competed. Amazon and MGM submitted the highest bid, purchasing the license for $40 million – the largest documentary deal in history.

"I'm honored to be working with Amazon they've been great partners from the minute we started to negotiate the deal, through production, and now as we gear up for the film's release," Beckham told Fox News. "Speaking of the deal, there has been so much speculation in the press on the bidding and how we ended up with Amazon, that we're at a point where it's worth clarifying a few things," Beckman said.

First, Beckman told Fox News some bidders were "interested only in a film, and others only in a series." "Amazon ended up bidding on both, and checked all the boxes we were looking for, as they could also deliver a theatrical film release," Beckman explained. "I've seen reporting that Amazon paid nearly three times the nearest other bid, and that's just false," Beckman said, according to Fox News. "It was an incredibly competitive bidding process with multiple rounds of bids."

The film launches one year after her debut book, "Melania," Fox News reported. The memoir provides an intimate portrait of Melania Trump and includes personal stories and family photos she had not previously shared publicly. "Melania" has remained atop the New York Times' best-selling list since its public release.

After last year's memoir release, the first lady told Fox News that writing her story was "an amazing journey filled with emotional highs and lows. Each story shaped me into who I am today," she said. "Although daunting at times, the process has been incredibly rewarding, reminding me of my strength, and the beauty of sharing my truth."

The Critics Choice Awards unveiled its 31st annual ceremony nominees on Friday, naming the Israeli mini-series "Red Alert" – The four-part production that recounts the Hamas-led terrorist assault on southern Israel that occurred on Oct. 7, 2023 – among Best Foreign Language Series contenders.

Known in Hebrew as "Or Rishon," meaning "First Light", the series "Red Alert" debuted internationally on Oct. 7, 2025, marking the second anniversary of the atrocities that triggered Israel's nearly two-year military campaign against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Produced primarily in Hebrew, the four-episode series chronicles ordinary individuals' real-life stories, ranging from the terrorist massacre at the Nova music festival to the Yahalomi family confronting Hamas terrorists in their home, leading to the kidnapping of father Ohad and son Eitan.

The Keshet Media Group, an Israeli production company, collaborated with prominent Hollywood producer Lawrence Bender, best known for "Pulp Fiction" and "Inglourious Basterds", to create the series, which was shot in Israel and featured an Israeli ensemble, the report concluded. The production was broadcast on  Paramount+, drawing backlash amid ongoing anti-Israel sentiment.

The nomination represents a significant achievement for the limited series, which is receiving international recognition despite pro-Palestinian criticism.

Other television series nominated in the same category include "Acapulco" on Apple TV, "Last Samurai Standing" on Netflix, "Mussolini: Son of the Century" on MUBI, "Squid Game" on Netflix, and "When No One Sees Us" on HBO Max.

The 31st annual Critics Choice Awards ceremony is scheduled for Jan. 6 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, featuring the merged film and television honors format. The winners will be announced during this event.

Sydney Sweeney on weathering Hollywood's storm: 'I'm a fighter' https://www.israelhayom.com/2025/12/03/sydney-sweeney-interview-fighter-spirit-hollywood-backlash/ https://www.israelhayom.com/2025/12/03/sydney-sweeney-interview-fighter-spirit-hollywood-backlash/#respond Wed, 03 Dec 2025 08:00:06 +0000 https://www.israelhayom.com/?p=1107871 Sydney Sweeney told Israel Hayom she refuses to quit despite box office struggles and public backlash. The actress gained 15 kilos of muscle to portray boxer Christy Martin and continues working on multiple projects including the new season of "Euphoria."

]]>

In the middle of our Zoom call, Sydney Sweeney's face freezes mid-sentence. A moment later, she disappears completely. Several minutes pass before she returns in a flurry.

"Sorry!" she said. "My internet stopped working! I'm currently living in a very beautiful and old house in Hollywood that was built in the 1920s. The house belonged to director Delmer Daves. He directed the original version of the Western '3:10 to Yuma,' among other things. His family owned the house until two years ago, and the whole house is still full of his belongings. There are tons of signed photos of Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe, along with scripts and posters, so it's really fascinating and special to be here. But because it's such an old house, the electricity and internet cut out every few minutes. I apologize."

The truth is that the internet malfunction turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Until that moment, it didn't really seem like the beautiful 28-year-old actress was planning to open up to me and my handful of colleagues from the international press. That is, she was very polite, professional, and nice, of course, but her answers were also very short and correct. Now the distance has broken. Sweeney's mood improved noticeably, and suddenly the conversation began to flow.

A controversial campaign

Sweeney has frequently appeared in headlines in recent years, usually for reasons not directly related to the films ("Anyone But You," "Reality") or series ("The White Lotus," "Euphoria") in which she appears. Her steamy photos from the red carpets she walks and the various (and usually viral) advertising campaigns she participates in tend to overshadow her impressive acting performances, and this has reached a peak in recent weeks.

A controversial jeans campaign in which Sweeney participated caused a storm due to the chosen slogan – "Sydney Sweeney has great jeans" – and led to calls for the actress's cancellation on the grounds that she promotes "white supremacy."

At the same time, "Christy," the new sports drama in which she stars as trailblazing boxer Christy Martin, crashed at the US box office, and Sweeney immediately became a punching bag on social media. It's a shame. Both because Sweeney does an exceptional job in the film and delivers her most impressive acting performance to date. But also, and mainly, because everyone knows the reactions to the box office failure would have been completely different if it were an actor (and not an actress).

"I'm still here," Sweeney told Israel Hayom and anyone rushing to eulogize her. "I'm still doing what I love to do. I have tons of projects I'm working on right now. I'm about to continue trying new things. I don't believe in giving up. Like Christy, I'm also a fighter, and I won't stop fighting. I think women – no matter what field they're in – have to deal with this gap, between our public persona or society's expectations of us, and who we really are. It's a universal problem."

You're in the eye of the storm. The public examines your every move. How do you stay sane?

"My great fortune is that I really love what I do. I'm in love with my work. I'm obsessive about each and every one of the projects I participate in. I want to participate in telling their stories, that's what excites me, and the truth is I function much better when I'm under pressure. I'm at a different level when I have tons of things to do, than when I'm sitting at home twiddling my thumbs waiting for something to happen. When you do what you love, it's easier to deal with everything around you."

Being Christy

Christy Martin was one of the significant and prominent figures in the women's boxing world of the 1990s, and she has many shares in the development of the field. But her struggles outside the ring were no less difficult and brutal than those conducted inside it. For many long years, Martin was forced to hide her sexual preferences and pretend she was straight. At some point, she also married her coach, who was significantly older than her, and was trapped in a toxic, violent, and abusive relationship. She only miraculously came out of it alive.

"Christy's story was very important to me," Sweeney said. "I wanted to give her my full attention, because she's a real person and everything you see in the film really happened to her. We spent tons of time together. She was on the set, we became very good friends, and she also really loved the film. I will thank her for the rest of my life for the impact she had on my life.

"We wanted to share Christy's story with the world, so that women would understand they aren't alone. So they would feel there's someone in their corner. That there's a community for them. I feel stronger now knowing Christy is in my corner, and that I'm in her corner."

You underwent a very serious physical transformation to portray Christy. You're unrecognizable. How did you get in shape? How did you prepare yourself for the role?

"The truth is, it wasn't foreign to me. I did kickboxing from age 12 to age 19. I participated in tournaments, won championships, I have medals – the whole thing. So I already knew the boxing world, the terminology, and how to fight. I felt like I was returning to my childhood love. I enjoyed every moment.

"In terms of research, I watched all of Christy's fights and all the documentaries made about her and had long conversations with her. Physically, I trained for three months. I had a dedicated boxing coach and a dedicated weights coach. I gained 15 kilos of muscle. I let myself get lost in the process. I went back home to Idaho. I live near my grandmother, so I turned her garage into a Rocky-style gym. I hung punching bags there. All day, I lifted weights and boxed. I drank tons and tons of protein shakes."

The healthy way to work

The hardest scenes in the film don't take place inside the boxing ring. They take place at home, with Christy's abusive husband, portrayed by Ben Foster. How hard was it to make the switch between Christy and Sydney at the end of the shooting day?

"I try to separate myself from my characters as much as possible. I don't bring my private thoughts or feelings into the character I'm portraying. While I'm on set, I think like Christy and move like Christy. The moment they say action, I become Christy. The moment they say cut, I go back to being Syd. I can be emotional, and the moment they say cut, I can return to myself and have normal conversations. This is the healthiest way for me to work, because I really portray many dark and complex characters. That way I don't bring work home with me."

As mentioned, despite the box office failure of "Christy" in the United States, Sweeney is definitely not going anywhere. Besides the new season of "Euphoria," which will air next spring, in two more weeks we'll also be able to find her starring in "The Housemaid," a much-discussed psychological thriller based on the bestseller by author Freida McFadden. In addition, Sweeney is producing and starring in a Hollywood drama called "Scandalous!", in which she is expected to portray legendary actress Kim Novak.

"I feel like everything I do is different and distinct from what I did before," she concluded. "That's what's so fun about being an actress. You don't have to do the same thing again and again. I can fall in love with different genres and different characters and challenge myself in all kinds of ways. It's good to challenge yourself. That's the only way you can grow and develop."

Eight never-broadcast episodes from NBC's 'Friends' spin-off, 'Joey,' surfaced on the official Friends YouTube channel, Deadline reported. The sitcom, 'Joey', created by former 'Friends' writers and producers Scott Silveri and Shana Goldberg-Meehan, launched in September 2004, four months after 'Friends' wrapped its ten-year run.

NBC placed the sitcom in the desirable Thursday time slot previously held by the original series. The pilot drew 18.6 million viewers; the first season averaged 10.2 million; and the second season fell to 7.1 million. The cast starred Matt LeBlanc as soap opera actor Joey Tribbiani, Jennifer Coolidge, Andrea Anders, Miguel A. Núñez Jr., Ben Falcone, Drea de Matteo, and Paulo Costanzo.

NBC pulled the series from Thursdays in December 2005, tried relaunching it on Tuesdays in March 2006, and cancelled it in May that year. Eight completed second-season episodes never aired in the United States but were shown by networks outside the country. The Wrap noted that Warner Bros. chose to upload the episodes on a channel with ads rather than on a subscription service.

Auli’i Cravalho, the original voice, is executive producing and told TheWrap it was “really important” to pass the baton.

Disney has released the first trailer for its live-action "Moana," signaling the hero's return, Yahoo reported on Monday. The new adaptation stars newcomer Catherine Laga'aia as Moana, alongside Dwayne Johnson, who is reprising his 2016 role as the demigod Māui. The preview, which Yahoo notes seems to be a near shot-for-shot remake, opens with the breakout song "How Far I'll Go" and shows Māui in his bird form, though Johnson himself is not yet shown.

Auli'i Cravalho, the original voice of Moana, is not returning to the titular role but confirmed her involvement as an executive producer in 2023, Yahoo noted. She previously informed TheWrap that she is determined to create more Hollywood opportunities for Pacific Islanders, calling this film the first step.

"It feels really important to me to pass the baton to the next young woman of Pacific Island descent, and I say that with my whole chest," Cravalho told TheWow. "I have been invited, and I exist in these beautiful AAPI spaces, Asian American Pacific Islander, and I am one of the few Pacific Islanders. And I'll say it again, I am one of the few Pacific Islanders... I want to tell our own stories. I want to be behind the camera as much as I am in front of it."

Cravalho continued, telling TheWrap she wants to see representation improve in writers rooms and among directors, adding, "I cannot wait to meet the next Moana." That new star, Laga'aia, previously appeared in "The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart" but marks her first lead role here, according to Yahoo. The cast also includes John Tui as Chief Tui, Frankie Adams as Sina, and Rena Owen as Gramma Tala.

Thomas Kail, the director behind Lin-Manuel Miranda's "Hamilton," will make his feature film debut directing the project, Yahoo reported. Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia are producing via Seven Bucks Productions, along with Beau Flynn of Flynn Picture Co. Cravalho and Scott Sheldon are executive producers. The release of "Moana" is scheduled for theaters on July 10, 2026.

Just weeks after nearly 4,000 members of the global entertainment industry signed a petition pledging to boycott Israeli film institutions over the war in Gaza, a new open letter was published Thursday with about 1,200 industry professionals so far declaring their opposition to the cultural boycott.

The initiative is organized by the pro-Israel groups Creative Community for Peace and The Brigade. It stresses that most of those working in Israel's film and television industries lean left politically and oppose government policies. As an example, it highlights the Ophir Award-winning film The Vanishing Soldier, which is set to represent Israel at the upcoming Academy Awards and tells the story of a Palestinian boy risking his life to reach the beach in Tel Aviv.

Among the signatories are Liev Schreiber, Debra Messing, Mayim Bialik, Michael Rapaport, Jerry O'Connell (Sliders), Mare Winningham (Georgia), Anthony Edwards (ER), Edelstein (House), Rebecca De Mornay (The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, Jessica Jones), Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight, Fargo), Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond), Fred Savage (The Wonder Years), Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville), Mark Feuerstein (Royal Pains), and Howie Mandel.

They are joined by television personality Sharon Osbourne, widow of the late rock star Ozzy Osbourne; KISS bassist Gene Simmons, who was born in Israel; musicians Matisyahu and Regina Spektor; producer Jack Bender; and prominent Israelis including media mogul Haim Saban, actor Mike Burstyn, activist Noa Tishby, and actor Yehuda Levi.

The latest South Park episode, which aired on Wednesday night in the US after a one-week production-related delay, focused mainly on the war in Gaza and introduced a satirical depiction of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This marks the first time the satirical animated series has directly addressed the recent Gaza war, and the episode, "Conflict of Interest," the fifth in the series' 27th season, is notably unflattering to Israel.

In the 22–minute episode, for those familiar with the long-running hit series, the "bromance" between Donald Trump and Satan continues, and Federal Communications Commission chairman Brendan Carr is also mocked (he tumbles down a staircase, eats a poisoned bowl of soup, and ultimately ends up in the hospital). However, the episode's climax takes place in Israel, after Cartman introduces the boys to a controversial betting app that asks, "Will Kyle Broflovski's mother (who is Jewish) bomb Gaza and hit a Palestinian hospital?". After Kyle furiously asks Cartman, "Why would my mom ever destroy a Palestinian hospital?!" and the latter replies, "Because... she's Jewish?", events take a turn.

Kyle demands that Cartman remove the bet on his mother. Cartman explains that he is not responsible for the bet and has no intention of participating since the chance of the mother actually bombing Gaza is remote. An angry Kyle sets out to investigate the matter. In the meantime, Cartman tells Kenny, "Wow, you just mention the Gaza issue to a Jew and they immediately lose it. Maybe the probability (that Kyle's mother will bomb a hospital) is actually pretty good." The plot then shifts to bets on the gender of the child of Trump and Satan.

Meanwhile, Kyle continues to investigate the bet on his mother. He confronts another child who put money on the app, and scolds the students that "Israel and Gaza are a very serious matter... Do you even know what Gaza is? There has been a conflict in Israel for thousands of years. Jews and Palestinians are not football teams that you bet on." From there, Kyle goes to confront the "strategic advisor" behind the app, urging him to cancel the bet. The advisor refers Kyle to a government official who oversees gambling, and the boy complains – to the same advisor, who is now answering from a different office – about "a bet that harms Jews."

This time, Kyle is referred to the US Federal Communications Commission, headed by Brendan Carr. Carr is alarmed by Kyle's complaint and goes to talk to Trump but falls into a trap the president set for Satan. Cartman, in the meantime, tries to stir things up and improve his odds of winning the bet, which suddenly seems worthwhile. "I don't get what Kyle's mom has against Palestine... I don't know what to tell you guys, but I'd hate to be a Palestinian hospital right now," Cartman says to the other students.

At the same time, Sheila Broflovski, Kyle's mother, dines with friends at an elegant brasserie and is asked her opinion on the situation in Gaza. "I think it's terrible, a lot of people are dying," she replies after a brief pause. "And... do you feel you should do something about it?", her friends press. "What can I do about it?!", the mother wonders. It soon becomes clear that the friends are also considering whether to bet on Mrs. Broflovski bombing a Palestinian hospital.

"Are you implying that Jews in the US have a duty to do something about this? You want to slander my faith, don't you? It's not the Jews against Palestine; it's Israel against Palestine! And maybe if you read books instead of listening to what Hollywood actors say, you'll see the difference." The friends decide to bet that the furious Sheila will take action.

At the Broflovski family home during dinner, Sheila wonders why everyone thinks American Jews are connected to what is happening in Israel. She declares she has had enough and that she will indeed take action, even as Ike, Kyle's baby brother, is using the gambling app. Kyle begs his mother to calm down, but Sheila refuses and... flies to Israel. Cartman bets $1,400 ("all my mom's money") that Sheila will not bomb the hospital because everyone else believes she will, and he is sure he will win big.

Sheila Broflovski at the Prime Minister's Office (South Park)

From there, the episode cuts to Israel. A special broadcast by Al-Jazeera reports that Sheila Broflovski ("Umm Kyle" which means mother of Kyle in Arabic) has arrived in the Holy Land. Cartman demands that Kyle calm his mother down "so the kids here aren't even more antisemitic," but Sheila has no cell service in Israel. The bet is ultimately removed from the app, and the money is returned to the users, but not before the final shot of the episode shifts to the office of the Prime Minister of Israel in Jerusalem. Benjamin Netanyahu is in a discussion with his cabinet members, with an angry Sheila heard in the background demanding to speak with the prime minister. She bursts into the office and yells: "There you are, Mr. N-E-T-A-N-Y-A-H-U. Who do you think you are? Killing thousands and flattening neighborhoods, and then wrapping yourself in Judaism as if it protects you from criticism.

"You're making life for Jews miserable and life for American Jews impossible,... Don't roll your eyes at me, mister. You know what you're doing, and you're doing it on purpose. Now you can just sit in that chair because I'm not going anywhere. Buster, I've been to every PTA meeting, every school board meeting, I can go on and on." The episode ends with Hassidic music playing in the background.

Following last week's dramatic announcement of Jimmy Kimmel's suspension from his ABC late-night show, popular host Seth Meyers is now facing an uncertain professional future. According to reports in US entertainment outlets, Meyers has become the next target of President Donald Trump in the late-night arena.

Kimmel, 57, was suspended last week in what industry insiders said was the result of political pressure, after his scathing criticism of murdered activist Charlie Kirk.

In his Monday night monologue, Kimmel denounced what he called the "MAGA gang," accusing the right of "desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it."

He later mocked Trump's response to questions about the murder, when the president chose instead to talk about building a ballroom. Conservatives quickly celebrated Kimmel's downfall, and Trump himself posted a gleeful message on his Truth Social platform, which read like a hit list: "That leaves Jimmy and Seth," he wrote.

For Meyers, 51, who has hosted "Late Night with Seth Meyers" since 2014, the message is a clear warning. "I know Seth is rattled by all of this," said journalist and lawyer Matthew Belloni of the entertainment site Puck. Sources in the industry told the British Daily Mail that Meyers could indeed be the next to go, as networks try to move away from overtly political content so as not to draw the ire of Washington's power circles.

Hollywood commentators are already describing the situation as the start of a "hunting season," with Trump cast as the "hunter." He "points out his targets by name, celebrates their downfall, and pressures the networks to carry out the actual kill." For comedians who have built careers on political satire, they add, "the daily writing process has shifted from risky satire to something that puts their jobs directly in jeopardy, and fear is everywhere."

Meyers, who rose to prominence on the biting sketch show Saturday Night Live and later established himself as a sharp political voice in late-night television, did not stay silent. On his show, he accused the Trump administration of "a campaign to suppress free speech," citing threats made by Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr in the wake of Kimmel's comments.

The suspensions and cancellations are not limited to Kimmel and Meyers. CBS has already announced that Stephen Colbert's show, hosted by Trump's fiercest late-night critic, will end in May. While the network cited "business reasons," Paramount's $16 million settlement payment to Trump over a controversial interview with Vice President Kamala Harris has fueled speculation that the move was also politically motivated.

Veteran Hollywood actor Robert Redford died in his sleep at the age of 89, his spokeswoman announced. Redford was best known as a leading man of the 1960s and 1970s, but he was also a director, political activist and cultural entrepreneur.

Redford, who starred in classics such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and All the President's Men and helped revive American independent cinema as a founder of the Sundance Film Festival, passed away Tuesday morning at his home in Utah, according to the statement.

His spokeswoman added that he died "in the mountains of Utah, the place he loved, surrounded by the people he loved. He will be deeply missed. The family requests privacy."

Charles Robert Redford Jr. was born on August 18, 1936, in the coastal town of Santa Monica, California. In interviews, he described himself as a poor student who was more interested in art and sports. He graduated from Van Nuys High School in 1954 and briefly attended the University of Colorado at Boulder before traveling through Europe, immersing himself in the cultures of France, Spain and Italy. He eventually settled in New York, where he studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

His Broadway debut was in a play, and he went on to appear in several popular early 1960s television shows, including Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Twilight Zone. His most prominent stage role at the time was alongside Elizabeth Ashley in Neil Simon's Barefoot in the Park (1963).

A Polish business executive has issued a comprehensive apology to a young tennis fan at the center of a US Open controversy, confirming that a signed cap has been returned to the child, Newsweek reported Sunday.

The millionaire head of Polish paving firm Drogbruk, Piotr Szczerek, was recorded on camera taking a tennis cap that Polish player Kamil Majchrzak had directed toward a young spectator following his second-round victory against Russian competitor Karen Khachanov, according to Newsweek.

The video recording generated significant criticism across social media platforms against the business executive, Newsweek reported. "I made a serious mistake," the businessman wrote in a statement shared to his social media page, originally in Polish.

"In the emotions, in the crowd's joy after the victory, I was convinced that the tennis player was handing the cap in my direction for my sons, who had earlier asked for autographs. This false assumption made me reach out instinctively. Today, I know that what I did looked like deliberately taking a keepsake from a child. That was not my intention, but it doesn't change the fact that I hurt the boy and let the fans down. The cap has been given back to the boy, and I apologize to the family. I hope that I have at least partially repaired the harm caused."

The paving construction firm faced an influx of critical online reviews following the identification of Szczerek in the viral footage. The construction business currently displays a 1.4 star average on Google's review platform, with the majority of single-star ratings accompanied by references to the tennis match incident.

Review platform Trustpilot has posted a notification on the firm's profile stating the page is "currently closed for new reviews due to media attention." "FIRE THE CEO! I strongly advise against supporting Drogbruk," one of the almost 1,200 Trustpilot reviews said. "The CEO was caught on live video snatching a prized, signed hat from a child."

The executive stated that he and his spouse had for years "been involved in helping children and young athletes, but this situation has shown me that a single moment of inattention can undo years of work and support. For me, this is a painful but necessary lesson in humility," Szczerek said. "That is why I will be even more actively involved in initiatives supporting children and youth and in efforts against violence and hate. I believe that only through actions can I regain the lost trust. Once again, I apologize to everyone I let down."

Professional tennis player Majchrzak verified the businessman's identity to The New York Post, noting that the executive serves as a sponsor for Poland's tennis federation. "Obviously, it was some kind of confusion," Majchrzak told The Post. "I was pointing, giving the hat, but I had a lot going on after my match, after being super-tired and super-excited for the win. I just missed it. I had like a dead look, if you know what I mean. I'm sure the guy was also acting in the moment of heat, in the moment of emotions."
