Residents of the Gaza border kibbutz have created a symbolic display in which the Star of David at the center of the Israeli flag has been replaced with the number 59 — the number of hostages still held in captivity. "We have no other choice," they said. The flag bears the pain of the community and delivers a clear message: as long as the hostages have not been returned, Independence Day cannot be celebrated.

On October 7th, the Saturday when I was abducted from the Nova Festival and taken to Gaza, we all experienced a profound shock. Don’t let what we've been through since be in vain—because only together can we continue as a tolerant and loving society. And let’s not forget the real survivors, who are still waiting for us to rescue them from the tunnels and the abandoned houses.
