A senior official in the Popular Forces militia led by Yasser Abu Shabab announced overnight between Monday and Tuesday that their unit executed an ambush in Gaza against Hamas terrorists from the Sahm unit. According to the official, five terrorists were eliminated. He described the Hamas unit as "a gang of terror that oppresses our people."

Supporters of the militia reported that the it acted in response to an attack Hamas' over it alleged "collaboration with Israel" or "stealing" humanitarian aid.

Yasser Abu Shabab, a member of the Tarabin tribe known for past cooperation with the Islamic State, now leads an armed force of hundreds in Rafah that seizes humanitarian aid trucks and accuses Hamas of "looting supplies." The terrorist organization is furious and has attempted to eliminate this emerging force.

In a first audio recording released on Sunday, Abu Shabab denies ties to Israel, despite Israel Hayom reporting on Israeli efforts to arm his group to counter Hamas, describes the situation in the Gaza Strip, and outlined his demands.

The Gaza warlord said tried in the video to position his "Popular Forces" as protectors of the Palestinian people against what he calls Hamas's "terrorism" and "unacceptable control."

A striking incident occurred in Lebanon when a group of local civilians clashed with a United Nations peacekeeping patrol in south Lebanon – one individual delivered a slap to a Finnish UNIFIL officer. The confrontation took place near the Shiite village of Bedias, while a UNIFIL jeep was securing a road near the village. The precise reason for the dispute is uncertain – yet the Lebanese outlet Al-Jadeed noted that UNIFIL troops had blocked the route, leading a group of youths from the village – a Hezbollah stronghold near Tyre – to challenge the peacekeepers.

Video: Incident in Bedias village highlights growing tensions as US and Israel consider ending UN peacekeeping mission

On Sunday, Israel Hayom revealed that the United States and Israel are moving to end UNIFIL's mission in south Lebanon. Israel has joined the US position that the UN force – stationed in the region – should conclude its 47-year presence (UNIFIL, stands for United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, was formed in the 1970s). Formed after Operation Litani in 1978, the international contingent has consistently failed to curb the armament of terrorist organizations in the area.

Since the ceasefire with Israel has commenced in December, multiple incidents have unfolded in Shiite villages in south Lebanon – Hezbollah supporters have targeted UNIFIL patrols, even affixing the group's flags to UN vehicles. In certain instances, it was noted that the patrols "operate without an escort from the Lebanese Armed Forces."

Speaking to Sky News, UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operation Jean-Pierre Lacroix expressed support for deploying the Lebanese Armed Forces in south Lebanon. He argued that the presence of Israeli forces "impedes the Lebanese army's deployment and the fulfillment of the international community's objectives." He further clarified – "No talks have occurred about cutting international funding for UNIFIL" – and stressed – "Funding decisions rest with the UN Security Council. Our operational structure in south Lebanon remains unchanged. Since 2006, 48 nations have backed our mission in Lebanon – and our presence fosters 'a sense of hope' in the region."

A nurse at the Rambam Health Care Campus had her nursing license suspended for one year after a severe lapse in judgment in June 2020, where she administered a sedative to a patient without authorization, conducted an unapproved rectal examination, and failed to report his worsening condition, resulting in his death. The Ministry of Health imposed the penalty after a disciplinary review.

The Rambam Health Care Campus (Michel Dot Com) Michel Dot Com

The nurse was convicted in disciplinary proceedings for injecting a psychiatric sedative medication into a patient without authorization and performing a rectal examination on him. The patient's condition subsequently deteriorated, but the nurse failed to report this development or monitor his status. Hours later, he was found dead in his bed in the internal medicine ward. The nurse initially concealed her actions but later admitted to administering the drug.

Confession came only after confrontation

The June 2020 incident unfolded during evening hours in Rambam's internal medicine ward, where the experienced nurse – with approximately ten years of service – was caring for multiple patients. Without medical orders and in violation of hospital protocols, she decided to conduct a rectal examination on the patient, first injecting him intravenously with Dormicum, a sedative and anesthetic medication.

The disciplinary complaint stated that "she performed the injection and rectal examination without proper authority, without physician orders and contrary to nursing administration directives and executive circulars."

Medical documentation revealed the patient suffered abnormal, below-normal blood pressure readings that should have triggered the "deteriorating patient protocol" – requiring immediate physician notification, continuous monitoring and systematic follow-up. None of these critical steps were implemented. The following day, staff found the patient without vital signs. Despite resuscitation attempts, medical personnel declared his death.

Hospital disciplinary authorities emphasized that "at shift's end, she failed to report the medication administration to supervisors or incoming staff; she neglected to record and document procedures in the medical chart, violating established guidelines and legal requirements."

When a supervising nurse later asked whether she had additional information about the deceased patient's care, she declined to share details. Only after the morning shift supervisor confronted her with an empty Dormicum vial discovered at the scene did she acknowledge injecting the medication.

"Integrity claims difficult to accept"

The incident prompted an internal Rambam hospital investigation and formal hearing where the nurse acknowledged the primary allegations. Her hospital employment terminated within two weeks of the incident.

Disciplinary charges included conduct unbecoming the nursing profession, failure to maintain professional responsibility and serious negligence. However, formal complaint filing was delayed pending completion of police investigation procedures.

Ministry of Health prosecutors and defense counsel reached a negotiated agreement requiring the nurse to admit responsibility in exchange for a consensual one-year license suspension.

The Rambam hospital serves the Haifa area and northern Israel (Herzl Shapira)

Defense attorneys Tami Ulman and Yaakov Shlomowitz contended that "no causal connection existed between her actions and the patient's death, with police investigation files subsequently closed." They emphasized their client "accepted responsibility for her actions, expressed genuine remorse and has since changed employment while incorporating necessary lessons. Her attributed actions stemmed from good intentions aimed at alleviating patient suffering."

Ministry of Health disciplinary committee members characterized the case as "a cascading sequence of actions and omissions – the severity of the respondent's conduct cannot be overstated. Entrusted with patient care and welfare responsibilities, she initiated actions that created genuine health hazards."

Committee members – chairwoman Dr. Rina Shimonov, nurses' association representative Sara Efrati and government legal advisor attorney Arie Roter – observed that "upon learning of the patient's death, she demonstrated no urgency in disclosing her actions, revealing them only when confronted with physical evidence. Under these circumstances, claims of honest conduct appear questionable."

"While momentary judgment failures might be attributed to claimed benevolent intentions toward patient comfort, her subsequent behavior patterns prove difficult to accept. The respondent's conduct suggests not merely poor judgment and inadequate professionalism, but fundamental responsibility failures in mandatory reporting and deliberate incident concealment."

Committee members considered the agreed one-year suspension insufficiently severe, believing two-to-five-year suspension periods more appropriate for such violations, but ultimately endorsed the negotiated resolution.

Deputy Health Ministry Director General Dr. Safi Mendelowitz implemented the license revocation effective May, spanning one full year. His decision noted that "despite personal discomfort with the plea arrangement's leniency toward the respondent, I have accepted this agreement, recognizing that plea arrangements should face intervention only under exceptional circumstances, consistent with the disciplinary committee's recommendations."

The US Justice Department initiated federal civil rights proceedings Monday against Jerusalem Coffee House in Oakland, California, alleging systematic religious discrimination targeting Jewish customers. Federal prosecutors filed the lawsuit in the Northern District of California against owner Fathi Abd al-Rahim Harara and Native Grounds LLC, citing violations of Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination in public accommodations based on race, color, religion, or national origin.

The federal complaint details how Harara and his employees removed Jewish customers from the establishment on two documented occasions after identifying them through baseball caps displaying the Star of David. One staff member confronted a Jewish customer, declaring, "You with the hat. You're the Jew. You're the Zionist. We don't want you here. Get out." During a separate incident, Harara personally ordered a Jewish father and his five-year-old son to leave the premises, labeled the father a "genocide supporter," and deliberately filed false police reports claiming they were trespassers.

The lawsuit further alleges that on October 7, 2024 – marking the anniversary of Hamas' terror assault on Israel – the coffee shop released a provocative special menu featuring beverages titled "Iced In-Tea-Fada" and "Sweet Sinwar," clear allusions to the intifada and Yahya Sinwar, the deceased Hamas leader who masterminded the October 7 massacre.

The establishment's exterior wall displayed painted inverted red triangles, an antisemitic symbol that has proliferated in graffiti campaigns targeting Jewish residences and synagogues since the conflict began.

"This represents an illegal, intolerable situation deserving complete condemnation when an American business open to the public refuses to serve Jewish customers," Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon stated from the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division. "We will continue enforcing the law with determination to combat antisemitism and discrimination, and to protect the civil rights of all Americans wherever they are."

Federal prosecutors are seeking an injunction mandating the business owners terminate discriminatory policies and modify service procedures to guarantee equal treatment for all customers, though the lawsuit does not pursue monetary damages for victims due to statutory limitations.

In an unprecedented move in Israel-UK relations, Britain will place sanctions on senior Israeli officials. The Times of London reported on Tuesday that Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich and Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir will face formal sanctions for their comments about Gaza.

Britain – joined by Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries – will enact asset freezes and travel restrictions on Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir and Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich on Tuesday.

The sanctions ban Smotrich and Ben-Gvir from entering the country or dealing with British financial institutions, similar to what senior Russians have faced due to the war in Ukraine.

Britain New Government

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar said that "we were informed about UK decision to include two of our ministers on the British sanctions list. It is outrageous that elected representatives and members of the government are subjected to this kind of measures." He added that after his discussion with Prime Minister Netanyahu, it was decided that "we will hold a special government meeting early next week to decide on our response to this unacceptable decision."

In 2024, Ben-Gvir said, "We must encourage emigration. Encourage the voluntary emigration of the residents of Gaza." Smotrich recently said no aid should come to Gaza, ""Not even a grain of wheat will enter Gaza." At an Israel Hayom conference in August 2024, Smotrich said, humanitarian aid should be limited because it is a lifeline for the Hamas terror organization, which was holding 115 Israelis hostages at the time. He said, "We bring in aid because there is no choice. We can't, in the current global reality, manage a war. Nobody will let us cause two million civilians to die of hunger, even though it might be justified and moral, until our hostages are returned."

Foreign Secretary David Lammy had earlier indicated that sanctions were forthcoming due to the ministers' statements, which he labeled "monstrous." Addressing the House of Commons last month, he declared.

"We are now entering a dark new phase in this conflict. Netanyahu's government is planning to drive Gazans from their homes into a corner of the strip to the south and permit them a fraction of the aid that they need. "Yesterday, minister [Bezalel] Smotrich even spoke of Israeli forces cleansing Gaza, destroying what's left of residents, Palestinians being relocated, he said, to third countries." He continued, saying, "We must call this what it is. It is extremism. It is dangerous. It is repellent. It is monstrous and I condemn it in the strongest possible terms."

In May, leaders of the United Kingdom, France, and Canada issued a stern rebuke of Israel's intensified military operations in Gaza, calling the humanitarian crisis "intolerable" and urging an immediate halt to the offensive, according to a joint statement published on the UK government's website. The statement, released on May 19, 2025, also demanded that Israel allow unrestricted humanitarian aid into Gaza and condemned inflammatory rhetoric from Israeli officials suggesting forced displacement of civilians.

Several days later the British government imposed sanctions against key figures in the Israeli settlement movement in Judea and Samaria, as well as Israeli construction companies operating in the region.

Nvidia – a pioneer in chip technology – and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) are collaborating with Germany's Leibniz Supercomputing Centre to construct Blue Lion, a state-of-the-art supercomputer. Set to empower researchers by early 2027, the system will harness Nvidia's innovative "Vera Rubin" chips, as revealed at a supercomputing conference in Hamburg, Germany, according to Reuters. This partnership comes on the heels of Nvidia's disclosure, also reported by Reuters, that the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the United States will deploy a similar system in 2026.

Additionally, Nvidia confirmed that Jupiter – a supercomputer at Germany's Forschungszentrum Julich – has secured its position as Europe's fastest, driven by Nvidia's advanced chips. These projects underscore Europe's drive to match the United States in supercomputing prowess, vital for breakthroughs in biotechnology and climate science. Before dominating the artificial intelligence landscape, Nvidia championed its chips for accelerating intricate calculations, such as those required for climate modeling, which could take months to complete.

Now, Nvidia is advocating for artificial intelligence to transform scientific research. By leveraging a few precise calculations, AI can deliver rapid predictions that, though slightly less precise, save significant time. At the Hamburg event, Nvidia unveiled its "Climate in a Bottle" AI model. Dion Harris – Nvidia's head of data center product marketing – stated that scientists can input variables like sea surface temperatures to forecast weather patterns 10 to 30 years ahead. "Researchers will use combined approach of classic physics and AI to resolve turbulent atmospheric flows," Harris said. "This technique will allow them to analyze thousands and thousands more scenarios in greater detail than ever before."

With Blue Lion, powered by Nvidia's cutting-edge chips, researchers anticipate a leap forward in addressing complex challenges. By integrating traditional physics with AI, the system promises to enhance efficiency in fields from biotechnology to long-term climate forecasting.

The family of kidnapped IDF soldier Matan Angrest released a new clip Monday evening showing another portion of the footage from his abduction. The footage shows a mob swarming the tank Matan was in. Bruised and wounded, he is seen in the hands of the terrorists atop the tank, who then throw him to the ground headfirst, causing him to crash onto the earth.

Testimonies from freed hostages reveal that Matan is in severe physical and mental condition, and his life is at risk. He suffers from chronic asthma and experiences shortness of breath. His asthma attacks typically follow violent interrogation sessions, including being connected to car batteries and subjected to electric shocks until he loses consciousness. According to the testimonies, in such instances, his captors remove him from the tunnels to keep him alive, until the next round of abuse.

Video: Radio transmissions and full footage of the abduction of soldier Matan Angrest // IDF Spokesperson

Matan also suffers from severe burns that reach the nerves and can no longer move some of his fingers. His hands are swollen and infected, with burns penetrating to the nerves in both hands. The conditions inside the tunnels, the dampness and humidity, prevent proper bandaging or administration of antibiotics.

The infections in his body have caused prolonged high fevers, chills, and constant pain. In addition, he has injuries to his face: one of his eyes is swollen, and there is a risk of vision loss. He also suffers from fractures in his cheekbones and lower jaw.

"For 611 days, I avoided watching the full video that shows the beginning of the lynching of my beloved son, Matan. Dozens of terrorists against one soldier," said Matan's mother, Anat Angrest. "Last night, I forced myself to watch it for the first time. We have no choice. Matan's life is in danger. This evening, we are forced to publish another part of the video for the public. I wish we didn't have to."

She said that in recent weeks the family has gathered information to better understand Matan's condition, and in meetings with former hostages, they discovered a stark contrast between what they had been told and the reality.

"We were shaken to the core - while the prime minister didn't even know that Matan was wounded, we found out that Matan suffers from open burns, infections, sepsis, and fever," Anat said. "Alongside clear testimonies about torture and electric shocks. That's why we have no choice but to show the public the horrific images. The lynching that was carried out on Matan on October 7. The story of his serious injuries that have been forgotten only because he is a soldier. Just because of that title, which should be a source of pride, our Matan has been sidelined and has not been granted the label 'humanitarian.' Matan's life is in danger. He is wounded and bleeding. He must not be abandoned (again). Forgive us, our Matan. Don't give up, because we will not give up on you."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke Monday evening with US President Donald Trump about the Iranian issue. Following the conversation, Netanyahu is expected to convene a closed-door security meeting with several senior officials: Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, Mossad Director David Barnea, Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer.

Since the talks began, Israel has been closely monitoring the nuclear talks between Washington and Tehran, while maintaining a separate dialogue with the Trump administration. The US has issued a warning to Israel not to strike Iran during the ongoing discussions.

The nuclear talks between the US and Iran, held in recent months, have recently reached a crisis point that could lead to their collapse. This assessment is based on a series of statements from senior American and Iranian officials over the past two weeks. At the heart of the dispute is whether Iran will be allowed to enrich uranium on its own soil for what it claims is a civilian nuclear program.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has maintained a hardline stance on the nuclear negotiations, stating, "I do not believe negotiations with the US will bear results." He also addressed the uranium enrichment issue, declaring, "The claim that they will not allow Iran to enrich uranium is a major error. No one is waiting for anyone's permission."

Although Israeli officials denied it at the time, Trump revealed that he had warned Netanyahu not to undermine the talks with Iran. Tensions between the White House and Jerusalem became publicly apparent when Trump acknowledged that he told Netanyahu regarding a potential strike on Iran, "I don't think it's appropriate right now."

Roughly two weeks ago, Trump said, "We are having very good talks with Iran, and I said I don't think this is the right time because if we manage to reach a deal with oversight, and not based on trust, I don't trust anyone, we can bring in inspectors, take whatever we want, blow up whatever we want, and without any casualties. We can blow up a lab, but there won't be anyone in the lab, unlike a situation where everyone is inside and then we blow it up. These are two different ways to go about it."

Twenty days have passed since Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the resumption of aid deliveries to Gaza. At the same time, for ten days now, the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF)" has been successfully distributing generous amounts of food to residents of the Strip.

In other words, ostensibly, the international pressure on Israel should have eased. After all, there is no longer hunger in Gaza, and Israel and the US are also weakening the population's dependency on the Hamas terrorist organization. Yet, during these very weeks, attacks by Western leaders on Israel have intensified significantly.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that "Israel's recent actions in Gaza are horrifying and intolerable." He has also endorsed unilateral sanctions on Israeli civilians. France is promoting severe international measures against Israel, issuing repeated threats and occasionally hinting at an arms embargo. Germany, too, threatened a drastic measure until Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar flew to Berlin and managed to talk the new government down.

Canada, Australia, and of course Spain, Ireland, and other habitual critics of Israel, continue to attack Jerusalem. Even the European Union, which in recent years has tried to foster a more positive atmosphere with Israel, is now issuing the most severe warnings about a potential "reassessment of relations."

So what is going on? Why, despite a clear improvement in Gaza's humanitarian situation, assuming one ever truly existed, are Western nations escalating their criticism? Is it all just antisemitism? Fear of Muslim public opinion? Ignorance fueled by biased media? All of these explanations are valid. And Israel's dysfunctional public diplomacy apparatus, which falls under the direct responsibility of the prime minister, certainly makes it easier for Israel's enemies to spread lies.

But beyond all that lies a major force that Israel tends to dismiss: the United Nations. The UN, led by its hostile secretary-general, its many arms, agencies, affiliated NGOs, and the data it disseminates, is terrified of losing its "humanitarian" grip on Gaza.

This is not conjecture but confirmed information. A senior minister from one of the Western countries currently criticizing Israel made this very clear to an Israeli ambassador in a private meeting. The minister explained that the UN is exerting heavy pressure on his government to publicly decry the so-called "famine in Gaza," regardless of the facts on the ground. This didn't start yesterday. Since the war began, the UN has systematically worked to thwart every alternative to Hamas that Israel has tried to promote. It refuses to cooperate with the GHF and has officially stated as much.

Why? First and foremost, it's about money and control. UNRWA, the UN's food agency, and countless NGOs have created a multi-billion-dollar aid industry in Gaza that employs tens of thousands. This industry was born in 1949 and has grown ever since. Its leaders understand full well that if the GHF takes over and proves that Gazans can be fed without serving a daily dose of anti-Israel incitement alongside the meal, they will become obsolete.

Why, for example, would the US continue pouring billions into the UN - including its Gaza operations - when it could do so directly, bypassing the UN's propaganda and profiteering? That's exactly what António Guterres and his staff fear.

Which brings us to the second reason for the UN's rear-guard action: politics. The UN plays a crucial role in perpetuating and inflaming the "Palestinian struggle" against Israel. UNRWA, OCHA, and various other obscure UN bodies are responsible for maintaining the Palestinians' "refugee status," funding the camps where they live, spreading distorted information about Israel, and, of course, working hand-in-glove with Hamas for years, albeit discreetly. It is simply inconceivable that Hamas's main server farm was housed beneath UNRWA's headquarters without the agency's leadership knowing. Of course they knew, and said nothing.

This entire death industry, in which the UN has at the very least been complicit through willful blindness, is on the verge of collapse, if and when the GHF expands its operations throughout the Strip. This is also the reason for Greta Thunberg's absurd "flotilla" aboard the Madleen. What's the point of sending "100 kilos of flour I'm willing to die for to get to Gaza," as she dramatically put it, when the GHF has already delivered 9 million meals? The flotilla, too, is part of the global fake-news farewell tour, led by the UN, targeting Israel.

Anyone truly concerned about the humanitarian situation in Gaza doesn't need to send a clownish yacht. They need only donate to the American-Israeli foundation that is already feeding Gazans, without also nourishing decades-old global hatred. Severing this toxic supply line is the only way to transform Gaza from a terrorist labyrinth into a place that might one day be humane and livable.
