The red graffiti reads "There is a Holocaust in Gaza" and was discovered Monday morning on the southern section of the Western Wall, prompting immediate condemnation from religious authorities.

Western Wall Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz responded harshly to the vandalism, stating, "A holy place is not a place to express protests of any kind, and sevenfold when this is done at the holiest place for the entire Jewish people. The police must investigate this act, locate the criminals who desecrated the holy site, and bring them to justice."

The incident marks another case of vandalism at Judaism's most sacred site. A similar incident previously occurred on the northern side of the Western Wall, leading to comprehensive halachic discussions about removing writing from the wall's ancient stones.

A 27-year-old Jerusalem resident was arrested by police. Police detained, questioned, and released the suspect under restrictive conditions after seeking prosecutorial approval for charges of religious offense. The investigation revealed that earlier in the night, the suspect had committed a similar act on the wall of Jerusalem's Great Synagogue in the city center, where he spray-painted several related messages.

Miguel Uribe Turbay, a Colombian senator with conservative views and ambitions for the presidency, succumbed on Monday to injuries sustained more than two months earlier from gunfire at a rally supporting his campaign in Bogota's western section. The confirmation of the 39-year-old's passing came early Monday from his wife, María Claudia Tarazona.

On June 7, Miguel Uribe Turbay suffered grave harm at a campaign assembly in Colombia's capital, with shots striking his head and leg. He received prompt surgical treatment and lingered in intensive care at the hospital right up to his death.

"You'll always be the love of my life," his wife, Maria Claudia Tarazona, said on Instagram early on Monday. "Thank you for a life filled with love, thank you for being a father to the girls, the best dad to Alejandro."

A young suspect faced arrest immediately at the site, with authorities later holding several more suspects. Police last month detained the suspected key planner of the aggression – Elder José Arteaga Hernández – who goes by "Chipi" or "Costeño."

The episode has ignited new apprehensions over violence targeting politicians in the country. The underlying cause of the shooting remains under scrutiny by investigators. In October, Miguel Uribe Turbay revealed his aim to compete in Colombia's 2026 presidential contest. From his position in the Senate, he had risen as one of the sharpest detractors of President Gustavo Petro.

In a nation marked by a troubling history of drug syndicates and armed rebels assassinating and seizing political leaders, the strike has drawn broad rebuke. Miguel Uribe Turbay was the child of a journalist taken captive and slain in 1991 amid one of the nation's most turbulent times.

Soon after the shooting occurred, Secretary of State Marco Rubio declared the US "condemns in the strongest possible terms the attempted assassination" and labeled the strike "a direct threat to democracy." CBS News reports he ascribed it to "violent leftist rhetoric coming from the highest levels of the Colombian government."

Israel prepares for a potentially historic heat emergency as temperatures are likely to surge toward 122°F as soon as Wednesday, creating life-threatening conditions across eastern and southern regions while authorities scramble to protect vulnerable populations through expanded red alert coverage

Temperature readings will climb throughout Monday while danger zones expand to encompass regions where heat stress reaches maximum threat levels. The situation becomes particularly concerning as nighttime temperatures remain elevated, preventing the natural cooling that typically provides relief and making restful sleep nearly impossible across large areas of the country.

Israelis enjoy the beach in August 2025 as the weather heats up .

Wednesday afternoon will bring the most extreme conditions, with eastern and southern Israel registering temperatures between 118-122°F (48-51°C) – approaching the all-time records for these regions. Interior areas and mountainous terrain throughout central and northern Israel will exceed 104°F (40°C), while the Kinneret region specifically will reach 120°F (49°C).

Coastal areas will not escape the heat assault, with shoreline communities measuring up to 97°F (36°C). The combination of these elevated temperatures with oppressive humidity levels will create extremely dangerous heat stress conditions.

Complete weather outlook

Monday brings continued temperature elevation. Weather patterns will maintain above-normal heat levels, reaching scorching conditions in mountainous and interior regions while coastal plains experience oppressive humidity. Extreme heat stress will dominate every area of the country.

Tuesday will deliver additional temperature increases. Scorching conditions will dominate mountainous and interior regions plus coastal plains. Extreme heat stress will persist across all national territories. Interior and mountainous areas will register extreme temperature readings. Afternoon hours may produce localized precipitation in southern and eastern areas.

Wednesday will bring further temperature escalation. Severe heat conditions will affect most territorial areas. Coastal strips will experience humid conditions. Extreme heat stress will continue affecting all national regions. Most areas will measure extreme temperature readings. Afternoon periods may generate localized precipitation in southern and eastern territories.

AOL has announced the termination of its dial-up internet service next month, concluding a 34-year legacy that became synonymous with America's initial foray into cyberspace. The New York Times reported that the service, along with its accompanying software, faces discontinuation on September 30.

The company published a statement on AOL's website Friday declaring that "AOL routinely evaluates its products and services and has decided to discontinue Dial-up internet." Yahoo, AOL's parent company, declined to disclose statistics regarding current dial-up subscription numbers.

The service launched in 1991, coinciding with the growing popularity of home computers across American households. AOL's distinctive dial-up connection tone, often accompanied by the famous "You've got mail!" notification, became the auditory signature of internet exploration for countless Americans discovering online navigation.

US Census data from 2019 indicated that approximately 265,000 Americans relied exclusively on dial-up internet connections. This figure represented roughly 2% of households surveyed regarding their internet subscription preferences.

Ivanka Trump has earned recognition primarily as President Donald Trump's daughter and as a former White House advisor, yet she has simultaneously built her reputation as an entrepreneur through her fashion brand. What many may forget is her background as a teenage model, which demanded maintaining peak physical condition constantly.

As she nears the midpoint of her forties, Ivanka Trump has abandoned her yoga and pilates-focused approach in favor of more demanding strength training protocols. "I believe in strength training methodology centered on fundamental, time-efficient movements – squats, deadlifts, hinges, pushes and pulls," she shared via Instagram. "These form the foundation of my training philosophy, emphasizing functional strength that serves real-life demands."

She hasn't transitioned into professional powerlifting – not yet, anyway. However, her commitment to proper technique remains unwavering, ensuring complete mastery of each movement pattern before incorporating additional resistance. She consistently maintains full range of motion throughout her exercises.

Ivanka Trump's strength training methodology

Ivanka Trump works with a personal trainer twice weekly, and her Instagram content reveals the specifics of these sessions. Her routine incorporates back squats, deadlifts, TRX suspension training, lat pulldowns and lateral lunges. Sandy Brockman, one of her fitness coaches, explained to the Daily Mail that compound movements deliver superior effectiveness compared to fitness industry trends that cycle through popularity.

The reason Ivanka Trump avoids isolation exercises targeting single muscle groups becomes clear when examining her training philosophy. Most of her strength work revolves around the "Big 5" movement patterns – exercises engaging multiple muscle groups concurrently. These movements simultaneously build strength, enhance coordination and accelerate fat metabolism.

Brockman establishes specific strength benchmarks for clients including Ivanka Trump. "My minimum strength targets for clients encompass five perfect push-ups, two strict pull-ups, one bodyweight back squat, one bodyweight deadlift, and one overhead press using 48 pounds (22 kg)," she explained.

Ivanka Trump integrates strength training with enjoyable activities

For those who find weight lifting unappealing, Ivanka Trump acknowledged during the "Skinny Confidential" podcast that she shares this sentiment.  "I enjoy going for walks I enjoy playing sports I really enjoy Pilates and yoga but I have seen such a transformation in terms of my health.

She clarified her continued appreciation for yoga and Pilates while expanding her activities to include surfing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, hiking and golf.

Since relocating to Miami with her husband Jared Kushner, she frequently walks oceanside routes after school drop-offs. She often wears swimwear beneath her clothes, enabling spontaneous water activities.

Her motivation for consistent weight training stems from the profound health improvements she's experienced. This transformation required time to manifest. Previous attempts at strength training yielded minimal results until she revolutionized her nutritional approach. While Brockman recommends clients consume 20 grams of protein every few hours, Ivanka Trump exceeds these guidelines significantly. She maintains protein intake reaching 50 grams per meal.

Cryptocurrency markets experienced dramatic gains Sunday evening as Bitcoin climbed toward $122,000 and Ethereum achieved its strongest performance since December 2021, propelled by President Donald Trump's executive order authorizing digital asset investments in 401(k) retirement plans. The Block reported the surge followed sustained institutional buying and optimistic regulatory developments.

Data from The Block's cryptocurrency pricing platform showed Bitcoin advancing 3.33% over 24 hours to reach $121,852 by 11:25 p.m. Sunday, while Ethereum gained 1.25% to trade at $4,300, according to The Block.

"Crypto [saw] a rebound in prices this week, led by headline statements from Trump ordered regulators to 'look into' the possibility of including crypto (and private equity) into 401k portfolios," Augustine Fan, Head of Insights at SignalPlus, told The Block.

Trump's Thursday executive order directed the Labor Department to examine pathways for incorporating cryptocurrency, private equity, and alternative investment vehicles into 401(k) retirement frameworks, The Block reported.

Fan explained to The Block that providing millions of American retirement accounts access to higher-risk cryptocurrency investments could generate substantial purchasing demand.

Beyond the retirement account announcement, Bitcoin benefited from continued spot exchange-traded fund capital inflows, attracting another $253 million in net investments this week, sustaining demand momentum despite market consolidation following last month's record peak, according to The Block.

Ethereum soared to levels not witnessed since December 2021, primarily powered by institutional investment appetite, The Block reported. Spot Ethereum ETFs captured greater capital flows than Bitcoin ETFs, securing $461 million over the past week.

"That has triggered massive, short liquidations and put Vitalik Buterin back in the billionaire club," Rachael Lucas, crypto analyst at BTC Markets, stated to The Block. "With momentum, inflows, and headlines all on its side, ETH has a strong case for challenging its previous all-time highs."

RELATED INDICES 0 –0% 0 –0% See Crypto Indices

Ethereum's current valuation stands approximately 11% below its record high of $4,878, with potential to surpass Bitcoin's performance depending on whether institutional capital flows continue, Lucas added to The Block.

Corporate cryptocurrency treasury adoption remains a significant market driver, Min Jung, Presto Research Analyst, noted to The Block, highlighting SharpLink Gaming's unofficial acquisition of 52,809 ETH during the weekend.

Key macro data

"Much of the current buying pressure appears to be driven by these large treasuries, suggesting they will continue to play a key role in price action," Jung told The Block. "However, with CPI and PPI releases on deck this week, investors should remain cautious, as macro developments — especially those affecting future rate decisions — could sway the market."

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell indicated at the most recent Federal Open Market Committee session that a September interest rate reduction appears less probable than previously expected, emphasizing decisions will depend on macroeconomic indicators, The Block noted.

Both inflation measurements are scheduled for release during the coming week, with the Consumer Price Index report for July set for Tuesday publication and the Producer Price Index report planned for Thursday, according to The Block.

The CME Group's FedWatch Tool currently projects an 88.4% likelihood of a 25 basis point decrease to 4.00-4.25% at the September 17 meeting, The Block reported.

Less than 24 hours after replacing GPT-4o entirely, OpenAI reverses course following massive user backlash that flooded Reddit and Twitter with complaints about GPT-5's soulless interactions. The rare corporate reversal exposes how emotional connection matters more than raw AI performance, with users prioritizing conversational warmth over technical capabilities.

The technology company had completely eliminated access to GPT-4o when it launched GPT-5, forcing all users onto the newer system without providing alternative choices. However, subscriber complaints reached such intensity that CEO Sam Altman announced the restoration of GPT-4o within 24 hours of the initial rollout.

Users across social media platforms launched an immediate campaign against the change, with many describing GPT-5's conversational approach as mechanically cold compared to GPT-4o's warmer personality. The swift corporate response represents a rare instance of a major technology firm reversing a significant product decision based purely on user sentiment rather than technical issues.

Reddit discussions accumulated hundreds of responses from users comparing the loss of GPT-4o access to losing a familiar companion, while others characterized GPT-5 as technically competent but emotionally distant. The social media platform Twitter similarly filled with requests for the previous model's return, with some subscribers indicating they would terminate their paid services without restoration.

GPT-5 arrived with enhanced reasoning capabilities, improved coding assistance, and superior long-form writing performance compared to its predecessor. Despite these technical advantages, user feedback consistently emphasized preference for GPT-4o's conversational tone and interactive approach over raw computational improvements.

The restoration provides Plus subscribers access to both cutting-edge GPT-5 capabilities when peak performance is required and GPT-4o availability when familiar conversational interaction is preferred. This dual-option approach represents a compromise between technological progress and user comfort preferences.

Altman confirmed that GPT-4o would return as a selectable option for Plus subscribers, though he indicated that long-term availability would depend on actual usage patterns moving forward. The decision allows users to choose between GPT-5's advanced capabilities and GPT-4o's preferred conversational style.

Semiconductor giants Nvidia and AMD have entered into an extraordinary agreement to provide the US government with 15% of revenues generated from chip sales to China, according to Financial Times reporting. This unprecedented arrangement serves as a condition for obtaining export licenses that allow continued access to the Chinese market.

Financial Times reported that the two major chipmakers accepted this financial obligation to secure export permits for their Chinese operations, which were granted last week. The unusual deal represents the first instance of American companies agreeing to share revenues with the government to obtain export authorizations.

A US official disclosed that Nvidia committed to providing 15% of revenues from H20 chip sales in China, while AMD agreed to the same percentage from MI308 chip revenues, Financial Times learned. Sources familiar with the arrangement indicated the Trump administration has not yet determined specific uses for these funds.

Financial Times previously reported that the Commerce Department began issuing H20 export licenses on Friday, occurring two days after Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang met with President Donald Trump. The same US official confirmed that the administration also commenced issuing licenses for AMD's China-specific chip.

This quid pro quo arrangement breaks new ground in export control policy. Export control specialists confirmed that no US company has previously agreed to pay revenue portions to secure export licenses. However, the deal aligns with Trump administration patterns of encouraging companies to adopt specific measures, such as domestic investments, to avoid tariff impositions while generating American jobs and revenue.

AMD declined to respond to requests for comment. Nvidia did not deny the arrangement's existence, stating that the company follows "rules the US government sets for our participation in worldwide markets."

Bernstein analysts calculated that, based on Nvidia's pre-control guidance from earlier this year, the company would have sold approximately 1.5 million H20 chips to China in 2025, generating roughly $23 billion in revenue.

The development follows ongoing controversy surrounding the H20 chip. Nvidia specifically designed the H20 for Chinese markets after President Joe Biden implemented stringent export controls targeting more advanced chips utilized for artificial intelligence applications.

Trump administration officials announced plans to ban H20 exports to China in April. However, Trump reversed this decision in June following his meeting with Huang at the White House. During subsequent weeks, Nvidia grew concerned as the Bureau of Industry and Security, the Commerce Department division managing export controls, failed to issue licenses.

Huang addressed this concern directly with Trump during their Wednesday meeting, according to sources familiar with the discussion. The Bureau of Industry and Security subsequently began issuing licenses on Friday.

The H20 revenue arrangement emerges amid criticism facing both Nvidia and the Trump administration regarding decisions to sell the chip to China. US security specialists argue the H20 will enhance Chinese military capabilities and undermine American artificial intelligence leadership.

"Beijing must be gloating to see Washington turn export licences into revenue streams," stated Liza Tobin, a China expert who served on the National Security Council during Trump's first administration and currently works at the Jamestown Foundation. "What's next – letting Lockheed Martin sell F-35s to China for a 15% commission?"

Bureau of Industry and Security officials have also voiced concerns about the policy reversal, according to individuals familiar with internal discussions.

Former deputy national security adviser Matt Pottinger, a China specialist from Trump's initial term, joined 19 other security experts in writing to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick urging against granting H20 licenses.

The experts characterized the H20 as a "potent accelerator of China's frontier AI capabilities" that would ultimately serve Chinese military purposes. Nvidia dismissed these assertions as "misguided" and rejected suggestions that China could employ the H20 for military applications.

Nvidia issued a statement Saturday defending its position: "While we haven't shipped H20 to China for months, we hope export control rules will let America compete in China and worldwide. America cannot repeat 5G and lose telecommunication leadership. America's AI tech stack can be the world's standard if we race."

The Washington debate over chip export control policies unfolds as the US and China conduct trade discussions that Trump anticipates will facilitate a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Financial Times previously reported that the Commerce Department received instructions to freeze new export controls on China to avoid provoking Beijing.

Concerns about potential Trump administration easing of controls to accommodate China arise as Beijing advocates for relaxed restrictions on high-bandwidth memory chips, critical components for manufacturing advanced AI semiconductors.
