A Massachusetts coffee shop has become an unexpected viral sensation after offering customers a unique deal: show off your dance moves for five seconds and receive a free coffee, reports Good Morning America.

The promotion at Coffee Milano Cafe in Middleborough, which was inspired by a similar initiative at a local pizza shop, has captured widespread attention on social media, garnering 7.6 million views on TikTok since its posting on November 18.

"Walk in and give us your BEST dance moves for 5 seconds," reads a sign prominently displayed on the establishment's entrance door.

"We just thought it was going to be a small thing for the people that come in every day," Olivia Svenson, barista and social media director of Coffee Milano Cafe, told ABC News.

The heartwarming initiative has resonated with audiences far beyond the cafe's local customer base. According to Svenson, the viral response stems from the promotion's ability to let people express themselves freely.

"Everybody likes to see people happy," she explained. "It wasn't that (the coffee) was free. It is that people were able to express themselves."

Building on this unexpected success, the cafe is planning to continue spreading joy with a special Black Friday event. Additionally, they are exploring variations of the dance-for-coffee concept, including a potential dance-with-your-dog edition, Svenson revealed.

"We have a fun environment that the owners love, so we just want to make people happy," she said.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday night ahead called on the Haredi community to refrain from holding large gatherings over the Simchat Torah holiday that could spread the coronavirus.

"Take care, there should no dances on Simchat Torah. There is no greater desecration of G-d's name than if because of Simchat Torah we lose a life," Netanyahu told Haredi radio station Kol Barama radio.

"Pray outside, keep the guidelines, and thus sanctify both the Torah and life."

''The Haredi public is dear to me, I love them very much. I saw the mobilization of the Haredi public during the first wave and the rabbis' calls to adhere to the directives. The Haredi public lives in greater density and that makes it more difficult, but it does not exempt us from trying harder… You should protect yourselves very carefully, follow the rules."

Netanyahu also referred to the "herd immunity" phenomenon, for which parts of the Haredi sector are supposedly aiming.

"There is no such thing as 'herd immunity,'" the prime minister said.

"Herd immunity means death to the herd. It is a death sentence for many thousands who will die. We have seen what is happening in other advanced countries that have gone this route."

He added: "No one is persecuting the Haredi sector and I will not let that happen. But on the other hand, there is no special treatment either. If there are concentrations with [a high rate of] infections then it does not matter if it is Haredi, religious, secular, Arab or Jewish, right-wing or left-wing. Everyone must abide by the rules, we aren't persecute any community, we are going after the virus and the disease," he said.

In the same interview, Netanyahu assailed the Blue and White Party over its demand to pass a budget for 2021 immediately.

''We agreed and enacted a law that the 2020 budget would be approved in December and at the same time the 2021 budget is being prepared. This is the law they approved and unfortunately Blue and White denies it. They should stop being an opposition within the government," he told Kol Barama.

''Their endless infighting is dragging us to the polls; it's time to stop with that. While they are busy with politics, I am busy around the clock fighting the coronavirus," Netanyahu added.

With theaters closed around the world, three South American dancers have created a digital dance-off for aspiring twirlers, with Instagram the new stage where competitors from Argentina and Brazil to Israel and Italy post clips of their moves.

The competition, open to all, has attracted hundreds of applicants - some professionals, others youngsters dancing from lockdown in their homes. A panel of renowned expert judges assess each dance, and viewers can also vote with "likes."

"We were struck by the desire of participants to be seen, to express themselves and their dance, what is happening to them at the moment," said Argentine Facundo Luqui, who organized the '@stayhomedancecompetition' event with two other dancers.

"What we thought when we started this project was that anyone can participate," added Luqui, 23, who is a member of the ballet company at Buenos Aires' iconic Teatro Colón.

The competition, which wraps up on Sunday, challenged dancers to raise awareness about the pandemic, reference the coronavirus, and honor an artist. In one video, a mother wearing a doctor's coat and a mask guards her daughter while she dances.

Giovana Soria, 18, a Paraguayan who has studied Latin rhythms for two years, said her dance was to encourage people to take steps to prevent infections spreading.

"I started to watch the news and saw that many people respected the quarantine, but when going out they did not take measures like putting on a mask, they touched everything and didn't wash their hands," said Soria.

Paz Schattenhofer, an 11-year-old who studies classical dance and who took part from Buenos Aires, said her performance was a homage to Russian photographer Yulia Artemyeva, who made a series of works comparing ballerinas to flowers.

"I would love to win it, but in reality it's to have fun. It is great when people 'like' you and that people see me, it is like a stage," she said.

Performance art globally has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, closing theaters and leaving dance troupes unable to perform or rehearse at close quarters.

"I think dance at the moment is undergoing a great crisis," said Manuela Lavalle, 24, another of the organizers, who dances in a company in the United States but is passing the quarantine in his native Buenos Aires.

"It's complicated because many companies do not have the money they need to get by. I believe the world of dance is going to change a lot and we still do not know how, but it is a matter of waiting and continuing to create in the meantime."
