The mother of two Israeli sisters who were killed last week in a shooting attack in the occupied West Bank has died of her wounds, hospital officials said on Monday. Lucy Dee, 48, succumbed to her wounds, Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital said in a statement.

Maia and Rina Dee, 20 and 15, who were also British citizens, were killed on Friday when their car was shot at by a suspected Palestinian terrorist while driving in the Jordan Valley. Their mother was in the car with them and was critically wounded.

Israeli forces are still trying to track down the assailant down.

Rabbi Leo Dee, the father, and husband, spoke to the press on Monday and asked Israelis to come together, saying how a missed call he received from one of his daughters would "haunt" him.

"I called Lucy, no answer. I called Maia, no answer. I called Rina, no answer. Then I saw a missed call from Maia at 10:52. I hadn't noticed it ring, I had not picked up the phone. The feeling that she called me during the attack and I wasn't able to speak to her will come back and haunt me for a while," Dee said.

"All world religions believe that we have the power to differentiate between good and evil so that we can choose to do good. And if we choose to do good then we make the world into a better place. I am saddened that recently, maybe over the past 20 years of my life, this innate ability to differentiate between good and evil has been gradually lost from humanity. That's why I wish to designate today, April 10 as Dees Day. The day we Differentiate between good and evil, right and wrong. And how do we differentiate between good and evil? We use our gut feeling. There's no better formula. We can't trust an app, we can't trust the news, we can only trust our intuitions." He then added, "Let the Israeli flag today send out a message to humanity which is: We will never accept terror as legitimate. We will never blame the murder on the victims. There is no such thing as moral equivalence between terrorist and victim. The terrorist is always bad."

In a separate part of the West Bank, thousands of Israelis, including government ministers, marched towards Evyatar waving Israeli flags and chanting religious slogans and songs as a Palestinian counter-protest was held nearby. The Palestinian Red Crescent said 191 Palestinians were injured by Israeli security forces.

"Now they understand why I have been pushing for the establishment of a national guard," far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said at the demonstration.

Ben-Gvir, a hardline Jewish settler, joined Netanyahu's coalition with an expanded law-and-order portfolio including a beefed-up national guard for use mainly in crime- and rioting-hit Arab communities.

We received the report half an hour after we left home, on our way north for a short vacation. Two young women were found dead in a vehicle in the Jordan Valley. Shortly afterward, it became apparent that they were not in an accident – but rather a terror attack, a murder in cold blood, with a confirm-kill made by the terrorist. As a reporter in Judea and Samaria, I was punched in the gut within a few minutes. The two girls live in Efrat my community.

Anyone who hasn't experienced something like this will never understand the rending feeling accompanying the preliminary information you receive, the names that begin running through your head. This family has two daughters that fit the described age, and that family has a similar white vehicle. And your stomach turns over. And then the names arrive, and suddenly the girls have faces. You saw their father in the synagogue last Shabbat. One of the girls walked by you several days ago. Your body may be in Haifa, but your heart remains at home.

A little more than a month has passed since the devastating terror attack in which Hallel and Yagel Yaniv were murdered, and now two more sisters join them in the cycle of bloodshed. They join more and more murders, more and more shootings.

They tell us the roads are safe and that the IDF is in control of the situation, but stones continue to be thrown in Hawara. When Israelis dare to act in response, they are accused of committing price-tag attacks, claiming that the attack did not justify using their gun, and they are prohibited from protesting.

I was a young kid twenty years ago in the Second Intifada. They gave us excuses back then too. They said that they gave the Palestinians an ultimatum; they claimed we reached a "hudna" (truce in Arabic). Now, too, there is the feeling that they are giving us excuses while the facts speak for themselves: two deadly shooting attacks in "the quiet region" of the Jordan Valley. A drive-by shooting in "the quiet region" of Gush Etzion. It is time you wake up and smell the smoke. Your home is burning around you – and you dream about peace and quiet.

With all due respect to the judicial reform or any other reform you want to pass, now is the time to give our attention to security. While government members are tweeting, Judea and Samaria is on fire. People leave home without knowing if they will make it back, just like twenty years ago. While you fight over important national missions that need to be promoted during peacetime, the war is being waged almost entirely unchecked around us.

I spent the last Shabbat with my family in Haifa, but my thoughts did not leave my home. Teenagers are at the roundabout underneath the Zayit Neighborhood, crying and singing. Adults and teenagers are gathering at the "Zayit Raanan" synagogue that mourned Ari Fuld several years ago and now will be burying two of its daughters. The blood of the murdered cries out from the ground. Enough.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated his pledge on Wednesday not to forcefully evict Israelis from settlements in Judea and Samaria.

"Not a single community be uprooted, nor will I force out a single settler," Netanyahu said during a visit to Gush Etzion, a settlement bloc just south of Jerusalem.

Netanyahu was scheduled to meet with US President Donald Trump's Senior Strategic Adviser Jared Kushner on Wednesday. Kushner was sent to the region to promote the economic component of the administration's peace plan, which was revealed in late June.

Speaking in Efrat,  a major Jewish community in Gush Etzion, Netanyahu said: "This is a place where one can see the past, observe the present and look into the future. We will not let a single community be uprooted, and Efrat will continue to thrive and build for eternity. Efrat and Gush Etzion are the gateway to Jerusalem. We withstood enormous pressure from the international community, and we did so because we were smart and acted together."

Netanyahu warned that if the Likud did not emerge victorious after the Sept. 17 election, the gains made in the settlement enterprise would be reversed. "It's us or them. There is the Left's way and there is our way, which transformed this country and built this land," Netanyahu said. "The only way to ensure the Right will continue to lead is to vote Likud and make it big. Only a big Likud can prevent a left-wing government and ensure a great future for the state of Israel."
