British author and Harry Potter series creator J.K. Rowling sharply attacked Sunday evening the "hypocritical silence of human rights activists" who condemn the West but refrain from raising their voices for the oppressed protesters in Iran.

Her post on X has garnered nearly nine million views to date. According to her, it exposed the true faces of these movements: "If you claim to support human rights yet can't bring yourself to show solidarity with those fighting for their liberty in Iran, you've revealed yourself," Rowling (60) opened her critical post. "You don't give a damn about people being oppressed and brutalised so long as it's being done by the enemies of your enemies," she added.

The post gained widespread online attention and quickly went viral, garnering tens of thousands of responses and shares. Rowling criticized activists in human rights movements who organize protests against the West and its allied countries, but remain silent about the uprising in Iran against the oppressive and brutal regime. This comes amid stormy protests currently underway to bring about a historic regime change.

Rowling emphasized that the same Western voices leading demonstrations for "Free Palestine" or supporting Nicolas Maduro's regime in Venezuela remain silent about Iran. She received a long string of support from users and commentators.

Journalist Jonathan Herronoff wondered in response, "Where are the solidarity demonstrations in the streets?" Commentator Oli London added, "Where are the 'Free Palestine' activists demanding justice for the Iranian people?"

Iranian activist Sana Ebrahimi and Iranian-American activist Masih Alinejad accused the "Free Palestine" movement of collaborating with Tehran's propaganda, which funds terror like Hamas while oppressing its citizens.

Economic journalist Manny Basharzad wrote, "If you want to free Palestine, start by freeing Iran from the regime that funds the tragedy you oppose."

On the other hand, there were also voices that came out sharply against Rowling. One follower who disagreed with her statements attacked her and hurled serious accusations: "You're just collaborating with Jewish supremacy. This isn't about liberty or freedom, it's about regime change for Israel's benefit. You're happy to see America going into more debt and losing lives for Netanyahu and Jewish supremacy."

Rowling responded sharply: "Iranian citizens braver than you could ever be are sacrificing their lives for their liberation, and all you can find to say is 'it's the Jews' fault'? You're already beyond parody."
