Lufthansa is offering affected passengers the option to cancel their tickets free of charge or to rebook their flights.

It's important to note that Air France's cancellations currently apply only through Sep. 19. The company will provide further updates regarding decisions beyond that. At this time, Ben Gurion Airport is operating as usual with no changes to guidelines. If there are any updates, they will be published here, on Israel Hayom.

Two American airlines, United and Delta, have announced the cancellation of flights to Israel for the coming days. They are the only airlines, apart from El Al, that operate direct flights to the United States. At this time, it is unclear when these airlines will resume operations in Israel. Travelers are advised to check with their respective airlines for updates on the continuation of flights.

Additionally, other airlines are currently assessing the possibility of canceling their flights to Israel.

German airline Lufthansa has announced that some of its flights will make stops in Cyprus to change crews, a known procedure also adopted by British Airways and the Dutch airline KLM to avoid crew layovers in Israel during the the Gaza war.

All flights from the Lufthansa Group to Israel are continuing as usual. However, Austrian Airlines has announced adjustments to its schedule, and passengers are advised to check with the airline if they are scheduled to fly in the coming days. Swiss, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings continue to operate without changes.

Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department has raised the travel advisory level for its citizens regarding Lebanon. In its statement, the American Embassy in Lebanon urged American citizens not to travel to the country and, if already there, to prepare for possible escalation and find shelter. Specifically, regarding the southern region, the directive was even more severe and explicit: Leave the area.

Earlier this week, the embassy called on American citizens to register with the embassy in anticipation of a possible evacuation. The embassy urged its citizens to leave the country while commercial flights are still available.

German airline Lufthansa has canceled several flights to and from Israel as tensions escalate with the Hezbollah terrorist organization.

The move follows the carrier's earlier suspension of operations to and from Lebanon. The cancellations primarily affect evening flights from Frankfurt and Munich to Israel, as well as corresponding morning flights from Israel back to these German cities.

Industry sources suggest that additional Lufthansa flights may be canceled in the coming days, depending on how the security situation develops. The airline is expected to keep passengers informed of any further changes to its schedule.

Other Lufthansa Group airlines, including Swiss, Austrian, and Brussels Airlines, are maintaining their regular flight schedules to Israel for now. As of this report, no other major carriers have significantly altered their Israel operations in response to the current situation.

Lufthansa is yet to respond to a request for comment from Israel Hayom

The drums of war echo once again in the Levant, as Israel reportedly readies itself for a daring incursion into Lebanon. According to Germany's Bild newspaper, Israeli forces are set to launch a ground operation against Hezbollah in the waning days of July, a move that could reshape the region's fragile balance of power.

Unnamed diplomatic sources, speaking in hushed tones of an "extreme scenario," paint a picture of a nation steeling itself against Hezbollah's threats of "war without limits." One source, their words heavy with the weight of impending conflict, declared, "Israel's push into Lebanon looms closer than ever before. A date is set."

The specter of war has already begun to cast its long shadow. Lufthansa, Germany's venerable airline, announced Monday the suspension of its night flights to Beirut. This decision, a canary in the geopolitical coal mine, follows a stark warning from the German embassy urging its citizens to flee Lebanon's increasingly uncertain shores.

As tensions ratchet up, the international community holds its collective breath. U.S. intelligence agencies, their fingers on the pulse of the region, warn that barring a last-minute deal between Israel and Hamas, the probability of all-out war has reached a fever pitch, "higher than at any point in recent weeks."

In this high-stakes chess game of Middle Eastern politics, each move carries potentially catastrophic consequences. As Israel positions its pieces for what could be a decisive gambit, the world watches, wondering if this will be the spark that sets the entire region ablaze.
