Explosions echoed across Israel on Friday afternoon following a barrage of approximately 20 to 30 missiles launched from Iran. Citizens were instructed to seek shelter in protected spaces as Operation Rising Lion enters its second week. Initial reports indicate a 16-year-old boy sustained severe injuries from shrapnel to his upper body during one of the strikes in the latest volley. A man in his 40s sustained severe injuries while a man in 50s was moderately wounded, and several others were treated for light injuries. The number of casualties will likely rise as first responders comb through the scenes.

Israeli Police received reports of munition fragments falling within the southern district and open areas. No additional casualties have been reported, though property damage occurred. Police forces and bomb disposal units are operating at the impact sites, conducting sweeps for other potential strike zones, and urging the public to avoid these areas and follow officers' instructions.

Interceptions were observed in the skies above Jerusalem and Beit Shemesh, with explosions clearly audible in central Israel. Additional interceptions were reported over the Eilat Gulf in the southern region.

Due to the situation, a rescue flight from Thailand scheduled to land at Ben Gurion Airport was forced to alter its route and forced to delay its landing.

Ramat Gan reported 23 lightly injured residents, while in Tel Aviv, one person was evacuated with minor injuries after a fire ignited at an impact site. Magen David Adom (MDA) teams treated 22 people with light injuries across the affected areas, alongside the critically and moderately injured in Holon and individuals trapped in an elevator in Beersheba. Several others received care for acute anxiety.

Soroka Hospital in Beersheba endured a severe direct hit, with extensive damage reported across the medical complex. The hospital's spokesperson confirmed that the strike damaged the exterior of the Soroka Emergency Department and other critical areas. During the explosion, several individuals were trapped in an elevator and required immediate rescue. Hospital officials requested that the public refrain from visiting, stating, "We are currently evaluating the full extent of the damage and injuries." The Ministry of Health emphasized its preparedness for such incidents, including contingency plans for transferring patients to alternative facilities. Beersheba's municipal emergency teams were on-site, coordinating with security and rescue forces.

In Holon, a residential building was struck directly, injuring 10 people – two critically, one moderately, and seven lightly. Emergency responders were searching the structure for additional trapped individuals. A designated assembly point was established on a nearby street to track residents evacuating surrounding buildings. Rescue helicopters were deployed to expedite the evacuation of the injured.

A direct hit in Ramat Gan hit the main artery of Jabotinsky Street, damaging a three-to-four-story building and an adjacent high-rise. Nearby towers and homes also sustained significant harm. Sixteen residents suffered light injuries and were treated by MDA personnel on-site.

Police documented missile debris in three key areas within the Tel Aviv District. In Tel Aviv, a suspected direct hit sparked a fire in Jaffa, with one person evacuated in minor condition. Extensive property damage was reported across these zones. Several fires broke out in central Israel due to missile strikes and interception fragments. In Samaria, debris landed in Ariel and Sha'ar Hashomron, and a fire erupted near Ma'ale Efraim, likely from an interception or missile remnant.

Sirens blared across numerous regions, including Jerusalem, Gush Dan, Sharon, Lachish, Shfela, Yarkon, Shfelat Yehuda, Samaria, Western Lachish, Central Negev, Southern Negev, Judea, Western Negev, Dead Sea, Haifa Bay, Upper Galilee, Confrontation Line, Menashe, Valleys, Central Galilee, Wadi Ara, Carmel, Lower Galilee, and Jordan Valley.

The missile barrage forced a rescue flight from Larnaca that was supposed to repatriate stranded Israelis to abort its mission and return. After a comprehensive assessment, the IDF Home Front Command permitted residents in several regions to exit protected spaces.

The military investigation into the Sept. 1 Hezbollah missile strike on IDF vehicles and an IDF outpost near Avivim, on the northern border, has found a series of failures that may result in disciplinary action against several senior officers, Israel Hayom learned Tuesday.

The incident took place as the sector was on high alert over concerns that the Iranian-backed Shiite terrorist group  would retaliate over a series of strikes in Lebanon, which foreign media reports attributed to Israel, most notably the drone strike that destroyed a Hezbollah complex devoted to the group's missile precision project, and the elimination its drone launching bases in the Syrian Golan.

IDF deployment in the sector included reinforcing and diverting forces, military deception exercises, and explicit orders to the troops regarding restricted areas, something meant to prevent unnecessary flare-ups in the already volatile sector.

This included removing Israeli soldiers from several high-risk outposts, as well as barring the movement of military vehicles on several roads near the Israel-Lebanon border.

However, despite these strict instructions, an armored military ambulance carrying an army doctor and four soldiers entered the restricted area near Avivim. Hezbollah terrorists, who were lying in wait, spotted the vehicle and fired missiles at it.

Fortunately, the missiles missed the vehicle and no Israeli troops were hurt.

The IDF first believe that Hezbollah opted to miss their target on purpose so as to avoid escalation, but the investigations eventually debunked that assumption, concluding that the fortunate result was incidental, especially considering that any loss of Israeli lives in the incident would have likely sparked a war, something Israel seeks to avoid.

The investigation, headed by GOC Northern Command Maj. Gen. Amir Baram, found that the 402nd Artillery Battalion, which is operationally charged with overseeing the Avivim area, breached orders by allowing the ambulance to enter the area.

Still, senior General Staff officials criticized the fact the GOC was blaming the battalion for the incident and argued the responsibility lies with Division 300, which oversees the sector as a whole.

The issue now falls to IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi, who will review the conclusions before any action is taken against the officers involved.

A statement by the IDF Spokesperson's Unit said that "the operational investigation was conducted in recent weeks by the Northern Command in a thorough and comprehensive manner and presented at various officials levels, as is customary in the IDF."

Media outlets affiliated with rebel groups in Syria on Monday published photos purporting to show smoke rising from an attacked Hezbollah command center in the town of Yabrud, north of the capital Damascus.

The cause of the alleged blast was not immediately known, nor was it known if it resulted in any casualties. Official Syrian state news outlets ignored the event entirely.

Reports have surfaced in recent weeks that Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran, is realigning its forces in southern Syria to prepare for a military clash with Israel, which it intends to wage from Syrian territory if tensions between the United States and Iran in the Persian Gulf boil over.

On July 24, the Syrian military accused Israel of firing surface-to-surface missiles at an intelligence station recently constructed by the Iranians at Tal al-Hara in southern Syria overlooking northern Israel and parts of the eastern Mediterranean.

According to the Syrian state news agency's report, the country's air-defense systems were activated against "hostile missiles" launched from the Israeli Golan Heights and Israeli aircraft west of Damascus.

The report said two additional explosions were heard shortly after, one in the Quneitra area and a second in Tal al-Hara, adjacent to Quneitra.

Reports in the Arab media noted that the brunt of the attack was directed at an Iranian base where Hezbollah and members of Iran's Revolutionary Guard are stationed.
