The committee roster encompasses numerous politicians, community organizers, and municipal dignitaries, while simultaneously featuring several entertainment industry members who backed the mayor-elect throughout his campaign, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

Committee participants include Ms. Rachel, the YouTube and Netflix personality who has emerged as a dominant presence in early childhood programming; Luis Guzman, actor and producer from Wednesday; filmmaker and Severance actor John Turturro; activist and actress Cynthia Nixon; playwright and actor Cole Escola; writer and actor Julio Torres; actor Kal Penn; comedian and writer The Kid Mero; A24 executive Sara'o Bery; musician Sonny Rollins; and novelist Colton Whitehead, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed.

The incoming mayor himself carries entertainment-industry lineage as the son of filmmaker Mira Nair, having grown up immersed in show business from childhood, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
