The display seeks to project military strength and reassure citizens following the 12-day war with Israel and the US that exposed significant vulnerabilities. Israeli strikes killed dozens of senior commanders and nuclear scientists, while over 1,000 people died in Iran, according to the Financial Times. Tehran argues its massive missile response forced the conflict to halt.

The Islamic Republic of Iran finds itself caught in growing internal turmoil. Alongside critical crises, including an unprecedented water shortage and economic collapse, viral videos emerged this week revealing a rebellion trend against the regime coming straight from within the military and security forces. The public appearance of soldiers and officers supporting the exiled Iranian opposition, combined with the collapse of existential infrastructure, threatens the stability of the ayatollah regime in an unprecedented manner.

The historic flag of Iran – the Lion and Sun flag serving as a symbol for supporters of the exiled Shah and opponents of the regime – is being raised openly in public spaces. In an unusual incident at a Tehran metro station, two Iranian men dressed in military uniforms were filmed waving the historic flag. Raising the flag in a central location like the metro represents a clear act of rebellion against the Islamic Republic, especially when performed by individuals identified with the security system. The viral videos from this event are going viral in Iran.

A colonel-ranked officer (according to Iranian sources, retired), Ebrahim Agai Kumazani, came out publicly in a video against the ayatollah regime. He denounced the Iranian regime as an "unholy and false regime" with no connection to Iran's history or land. He accused the regime of treason, theft, fraud, creating crises, and spreading poverty and crime. The colonel expressed public support for Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi and called on the Iranian people "to rise up" and act to save Iran. The officer presented himself as a "soldier in the people's army."

Hours after Colonel Kumazani's video started circulating on networks, another officer, Colonel Sajjad Azadeh from Iran's ground forces, presented himself in another video as someone reinforcing the move against the regime. He also declared he is "a soldier of Iran's national army, and a soldier of the Lion and Sun flag." He promised that in the coming days "major events are on the way." The colonel announced that soon the rebels "will tear apart the darkness of lies, fraud, and occupation." This officer's joining the open call indicates a division trend permeating to the heart of the security system.

A new video surfaced in recent hours exposing an unprecedented level of defiance – three soldiers dressed in Iranian military uniforms were filmed burning pictures of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, while shouting "Long live the Shah!" and pledging allegiance to the Lion and Sun flag. This act symbolizes deep rebellion and represents support for the national cooperation campaign launched by Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi. The campaign encourages mass desertions against the Islamist regime.

In the modern era, the possibility cannot be ignored that the videos circulating in Iran and stirring much unrest are AI videos, perhaps cooked up by a foreign intelligence agency to create unrest in Iran. However, the unrest in Iran is linked to the most severe crisis Iran has faced in recent decades – the water crisis, a truly critical and pressing issue. According to the latest released data, water reserves in Tehran are sufficient for only two weeks, and rare statements were heard from Iran's president about the possibility of "evacuating Tehran within a month." This unprecedented crisis is leading Iran to growing tensions, with the public pointing an accusing finger at the regime and its failed plans.

The possibility that the regime cannot provide water to its residents raises the question: Can a regime that cannot provide a basic existential need survive? As commentators note, a regime feeling the ground shaking beneath its feet might "flee forward" and open an external confrontation or war to try to unite the angry Iranian public around it.

Either way, the lethal combination of internal crises (water and economy) with what appears to be public calls for rebellion from within the military system indicates the Tehran regime stands at a decision point where widespread uprising is no longer a theoretical scenario but a real possibility, strengthening daily.

Iran commemorated Tuesday the 46th anniversary of the 1979 US Embassy hostage seizure in Tehran with official demonstrations throughout the country, the first since the conflict with Israel and American military strikes. The rallies displayed defiant anti-American and anti-Israeli rhetoric as tensions persist between Tehran and Washington.

The Tehran demonstration exhibited models of Iranian ballistic missiles and nuclear centrifuges near the former US Embassy location, alongside hanging dummies portraying President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with "Death to America" written on them. State television aired segments depicting people costumed as Netanyahu and Trump.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf delivered the keynote address at the Tehran rally, stating that the anniversary represents Iran's resolve to remain independent and oppose what he termed foreign power control. He declared the nation's independence "will not be sold for any concession," and the "Death to America" slogan signifies "rejection of hegemony, not hostility toward the American people."

Former Revolutionary Guards commander Mohsen Rezaei stated on the demonstration's margins, "The Iranian people say to America and Israel: We are standing with all our strength, we are your rivals and the Iranian flag will not come down." He continued, "They (Israel and the US) are like mad dogs that when they are afraid they start to bark."

On November 4, 1979, hundreds of Iranian students invaded the US Embassy in Tehran and captured 66 Americans, 52 of whom remained hostages for 444 days. The event followed President Jimmy Carter's decision to permit Iran's ousted Shah to travel to New York for cancer treatment. The hostages gained freedom on January 20, 1981, minutes following Ronald Reagan's swearing-in as US president, through an accord between Tehran and Washington, and diplomatic relations between the two nations were cut after the incident.

A chartered aircraft carrying approximately 100 Iranian citizens left Louisiana Monday evening, bound for Tehran with a Qatar layover, marking unprecedented deportation cooperation between Washington and Tehran. Sources from both governments confirmed the operation to The New York Times.

Tuesday's expected arrival follows months of bilateral negotiations, with coordination from the Iranian Foreign Ministry ensuring the reception of deportees while American officials finalized removal plans, according to The New York Times. Anonymous sources cited authorization limits for discussing specifics.

Expanding deportation efforts now target nations with severe human rights violations as the Trump administration removes migrants regardless of destination conditions, The New York Times reported. Christian converts among the earlier 2025 deportees to Costa Rica and Panama face religious persecution risks, prompting advocacy groups' legal challenges.

American protection historically extended to Iranians escaping systematic persecution of dissidents, minorities, women's advocates, journalists, and LGBTQ citizens. Recent border arrivals claiming political or religious persecution increased significantly, though deportee identities and immigration details remained unclear, The New York Times noted.

Married couples joined single men and women on the flight, some choosing departure after lengthy detention while others faced forced removal following asylum denials or pending hearings, Iranian officials told The New York Times. Foreign ministry assurances promised safety despite deportees' fears amid Iran's economic collapse, featuring currency devaluation, inflation, unemployment, and infrastructure failures.

United Nations Security Council sanctions were reimposed on Saturday, compounding existing crises, as this rare diplomatic coordination demonstrates a shift in immigration enforcement priorities. Previous annual deportations peaked at 24 individuals in 2024 via commercial flights, The New York Times reported, contrasting sharply with Monday's mass charter operation.

Iran has evacuated and scattered cooling systems (chillers) that were installed at the Natanz uranium enrichment facility, a step that may suggest it is preparing for the possibility of a renewed attack on the site that was bombed by Israel and the US during the war. The disclosure was made on Monday by American nuclear expert and president of the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) David Albright, who promised to publish the images shortly.

New satellite imagery of the Natanz enrichment plant shows that Iran has in last week removed and dispersed nearly all of the "chillers" from the two HVAC buildings at the Fuel Enrichment Plant at Natanz," Albright wrote in a post on X.

Albright, one of the leading experts on the Iranian nuclear issue, explained that the Iranians are utilizing the interim period when the facility is not operational. "The purpose of this removal and dispersal being that they are of high value, and since there is no electric power due to the Israeli bombings, and the centrifuges are currently inoperable, this is a tactic to make the chillers less vulnerable to future aerial bombardment in the interim."

He stated that some of the chillers were positioned on helicopter landing pads, others were relocated to the water purification facility area, and the remainder were scattered in various places throughout the complex. This, in light of the fact that the US exploited the ventilation systems of the Fordo nuclear site in its effort to compromise the underground enrichment halls beneath the mountain when it bombed the site with B-2 aircraft.

Natanz, situated approximately 250 kilometers (155 miles) south of Tehran, formed the core of the Iranian nuclear program with around 18,000 centrifuges. The Israeli and American strikes inflicted severe damage on the facility. The International Atomic Energy Agency assessed at the war's outset that the impact on the surface facilities disabled the power grid and damaged the centrifuges in the subterranean halls. Subsequent American attacks later struck these halls directly.

The hurried evacuation at Natanz is taking place amid the escalating nuclear crisis. Since the war began, Iran has denied access to inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency who sought to visit the attacked facilities. This denial was a key factor that prompted Britain, France, and Germany last week to trigger the "snapback" mechanism, which will reimpose international sanctions within 30 days.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a powerful message to the Iranian people, urging them to rise against their oppressive regime and envision a future of freedom and prosperity. Speaking in a video message from Jerusalem, he criticized Iran's leadership for their failures, particularly in addressing the nation's worsening water crisis. Netanyahu highlighted the regime's admission of severe shortages, stating, "A few days ago, the Iranian president said: 'We have problems with water, electricity, money and inflation – where don't we have a problem? There won't be any water in the dams by September or October'." Netanyahu blamed the Iranian regime for the dire situation, noting that Iranians lack access to clean water for their children amid scorching summer heat.

"In this brutal summer heat, you don't even have clean, cold water to give your children. Such hypocrisy. Such disdain for the Iranian people. To live like this is not fair to you. It's not fair to your children," Netanyahu attacked the regime.

Netanyahu, who launched Operation Rising Lion in June to dismantle Iran's nuclear program, contrasted Iran's struggles with Israel's achievements in water management. He proudly declared, "Israel is the #1 recycler of water in the world. We recycle 90% of our waste-water. And we lead the world in desalination." He recalled launching a Telegram channel in Farsi nearly a decade ago to share water management techniques, which attracted 100,000 Iranians almost immediately. This, he said, reflects both Iran's thirst for water and its people's yearning for freedom.

Netanyahu painted a vivid picture of a revitalized Iran, free from tyranny. He invited Iranians to imagine water skiing on the Karaj Dam, strolling along a restored Farahzad river, and seeing lush trees in Niavaran and Darband. He also spoke of reviving Urmia lake, a once-stunning natural wonder in northwest Iran. These visions, he argued, are achievable with Israel's expertise, which would be shared the moment Iran achieves freedom. "The moment your country is free, Israel's top water experts will flood into every Iranian city bringing cutting-edge technology and know-how." He added, "Well, all of this is not a dream. This can be your reality. But instead of making this a reality, your dictators impose tyranny and poverty upon you - just as they impose war on us," Netanyahu lamented. "For 46 years, you have been denied the most basic human rights. The right to express yourselves freely. To write, speak and sing whatever you please."

Netanyahu condemned Iran's regime for prioritizing foreign conflicts over domestic needs. Netanyahu asserted that Tehran's leaders have squandered hundreds of billions of dollars on groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis, neglecting hospitals, schools, and infrastructure. He decried the regime's repression, holding up books by Iranian dissidents forced to publish abroad as evidence of stifled voices. "You, the descendants of Cyrus the Great, deserve much more," he said.

In a call to action, Netanyahu urged Iranians to take to the streets, demand justice, and protest tyranny. He assured them of global support, stating, "I stand with you. Israel stands with you. The entire free world stands with you."

"Take to the streets. Demand justice. Demand accountability. Protest tyranny. Build a better future for your families and for all Iranians. Do not let these fanatic mullahs ruin your lives for a minute longer," Netanyahu said.

He further made a prediction that the "cruel, callous, and cowardly" regime in Tehran will not last long, promising a future where Iran's economy thrives, water flows abundantly, and children live joyously. Quoting Theodor Herzl, he concluded, "If you will it, it is no dream," adapting the phrase to inspire Iranians: "Iran Baraye Irani" – Iran for Iranians.

Tehran residents were instructed on Sunday to avoid using tap water in their homes, as the city continues to experience repeated disruptions in water supply, at the peak of an intense heatwave sweeping across the country. Iranian authorities urged the capital's population to restrict water use amid the worsening shortage, local media reported. Tehran City Council Chairman Mehdi Chamran stated, "People must conserve water to prevent a drop in pressure," according to the official ISNA news agency.

Iran's national meteorological service announced that the country is currently experiencing its hottest week of the year so far, with temperatures surpassing 50°C (122°F) in some areas. Authorities in other parts of Iran issued similar appeals in recent days, urging residents of various provinces to reduce water consumption. Tehran's water company called for at least a 20% reduction in use to help ease the shortage.

But what is being presented as a polite request may in fact reflect a harsher reality. The opposition outlet Iran International quoted local residents who said water supply disruptions began Thursday. The Ham-Mihan daily described the situation as a "silent water rationing" and noted that officials have so far refused to acknowledge any service interruptions.

On Thursday, Tehran Water Corporation CEO Mohsen Ardekani denied that deliberate outages were taking place but acknowledged the possibility: "If there's a 20% cut in water usage, there will be no shutdowns. Without that, we will have to start rationing," he said.

In a statement, Tehran's regional water authority said the city's dam reservoirs, its primary water sources, are now at their lowest level in a century, the result of several consecutive years of declining rainfall.

Meanwhile, the conservative Javan daily reported Saturday that authorities have reduced water pressure in parts of the capital in a bid to alleviate the crisis, leading to water cuts lasting 12 to 18 hours in some areas.

Water shortages are a longstanding issue in Iran, particularly in the arid southern provinces. The crisis is attributed to poor resource management, excessive groundwater extraction, and the increasing impact of climate change.

President Massoud Pezeshkian of Iran faced an unexpected transportation crisis when his official convoy broke down completely, forcing him to continue his journey to Tabriz by taxi after contaminated fuel disabled all three presidential vehicles. The opposition outlet Iran International reported the incident Thursday, citing a presidential office official. The claim comes days after Pezeshkian said he narrowly escaped Israeli assassination during the recent war, although there is no sign the faulty vehicles were deliberately tampered with.

The president's special inspector, Mostafa Molavai, disclosed that the vehicles transporting Pezeshkian and his security detail suffered simultaneous breakdowns near Takestan in Qazvin province following a refueling stop at a roadside service station. Molavai addressed the incident during a recent visit to Qazvin's provincial headquarters.

"The president and his security team set out for Tabriz by car. They stopped for fuel at a highway service station, and within a short time all three vehicles malfunctioned before reaching Takestan," Molavai recounted. "Our investigation determined that the station was distributing substandard fuel contaminated with water. This particular station has a record of such infractions."

The National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company acknowledged previous complaints filed against the station concerning fuel quality problems, though officials offered no explanation for why the facility remained operational.

Iran International noted that fuel contamination represents an ongoing challenge throughout Iran, with motorists regularly reporting gasoline diluted with water and fuel gauge malfunctions. Former Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh stated in 2021 that roughly 400 gas station operators face charges each year for comparable violations.

Defense Israel Katz announced on Monday that the IDF successfully targeted the so-called "Israel doomsday clock" that included a digital countdown toward Israel's destruction.

The digital countdown clock was unveiled by demonstrators in 2017, during a rally marking the last Friday of the Holy Month of Ramadan, called "Jerusalem Day," instituted by the the founder of the ayatollah regime Ruhollah Khomeini as a rallying cry to defeat Israel. It shows a fist with the colors of the Palestinian flag punching through an Israeli flag. The countdown, which was just over 8411 days when installed, appears next to the caption "Left before destruction of Israel."

"Following the directive of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Minister of Defense Israel Katz, the IDF is currently striking regime targets and oppressive governmental institutions in the heart of Tehran with unprecedented force," Katz said, adding that the central command of the internal security agency, Basij – which has cracked down on Iranians for decades and repressed their freedom – was targeted as well.

He then went on to say that the the notorious Evin Prison, "known for holding political prisoners and regime opponents" was also hit and the "internal security headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, the ideology headquarters, and additional regime targets."

Iranian media reported on Friday morning that an Israeli drone struck a residential building in Tehran's Gisha neighborhood. Iran International noted the attack targeted a base of the internal security agency Basij as Israel continued Operation Rising Lion to eliminate Iran's nuclear and missile threat.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the scientist was assassinated with a drone, quoting an Israeli official. The paper further reported that the official noted that "the scientist, who specialized in weaponry, was being kept in a hiding spot outside of his home."

Israel has already killed at least 10 nuclear scientists during the opening 24 hours of the operation against Iran, along with the decapitation of its senior military leadership.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared on Friday morning that Iran has always sought peace but stressed that ending the war requires fully stopping Israel's "aggression." He emphasized that Iran must ensure the "adventures of Zionist terrorists" are permanently stopped.

"Overnight, more than 50 Israeli Air Force jets operated above Tehran, striking dozens of targets tied to Iran's threat," the IDF spokesperson said. Targets included nuclear sites, missile component factories, and missile engine plants, notably the Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND) complex – a critical part of Iran's nuclear program.

A vital nuclear component facility was also damaged. Iran was preparing a major missile barrage toward Beersheba, but three launchers were detected and destroyed before launch. The IDF continues operations across seven fronts: Gaza, Iran, Judea and Samaria, and the northern border, working to eliminate threats and secure Israel.
