First lady Melania Trump granted Fox News an exclusive advance screening of her forthcoming theatrical documentary "MELANIA," slated for global cinema release next month. The 104-minute documentary will premiere in theaters worldwide on Jan. 30, 2026, appearing across North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and beyond, Fox News reported. Amazon plans to follow with a companion documentary series in the coming months.

"History is set in motion during the 20 days of my life prior to the US Presidential Inauguration," the first lady told Fox News. "For the first time, global audiences are invited into theaters to witness this pivotal chapter unfold a private, unfiltered look as I navigate family, business, and philanthropy on my remarkable journey to becoming First Lady of the United States of America."

Fox News exclusively secured the trailer, opening with the first lady stepping into the US Capitol rotunda ahead of her husband's second swearing-in ceremony. Dressed in her now-iconic inauguration attire, she states: "Here we go again." The trailer alternates between the first lady and president at the inauguration; the pair standing outside Mar-a-Lago; behind-the-scenes inauguration moments featuring Barron Trump and First Lady Trump's father; various images of the first lady; Air Force One; the presidential seal and more, Fox News reported.

The first lady explained that the story "has never been told, and because the subject matter is historically consequential, it was imperative for me to produce a film of the highest cinematic standard, suitable exclusively in theaters worldwide. The 20 days of my life, preceding the US Presidential inauguration, constitutes a rare and defining moment one that warrants meticulous care, integrity, and uncompromising craftsmanship," she stated. "I am proud to share this very specific moment of my life 20 days of intense transition and planning with moviegoers and fans across the globe."

Fox News confirmed the first lady remained involved "in every aspect" of the film – from her "creative vision," to serving as producer and ensuring proper post-production marketing execution. Sources told Fox News she maintained a "hands-on" approach throughout. The film was produced in a "highly cinematic" style. Sources told Fox News the first lady wanted the film to appear as an "elevated film" rather than a documentary. First Lady Trump conceived the film idea in November 2024, after President Trump won the election.

Marc Beckman, First Lady Trump's agent and exclusive senior advisor, led negotiations with Amazon, specifically CEO Andy Jassy, beginning Nov. 18, 2024, according to Fox NewsFox News confirmed Disney sought exclusive rights; Netflix and Paramount also competed. Amazon and MGM submitted the highest bid, purchasing the license for $40 million – the largest documentary deal in history.

"I'm honored to be working with Amazon they've been great partners from the minute we started to negotiate the deal, through production, and now as we gear up for the film's release," Beckham told Fox News. "Speaking of the deal, there has been so much speculation in the press on the bidding and how we ended up with Amazon, that we're at a point where it's worth clarifying a few things," Beckman said.

First, Beckman told Fox News some bidders were "interested only in a film, and others only in a series." "Amazon ended up bidding on both, and checked all the boxes we were looking for, as they could also deliver a theatrical film release," Beckman explained. "I've seen reporting that Amazon paid nearly three times the nearest other bid, and that's just false," Beckman said, according to Fox News. "It was an incredibly competitive bidding process with multiple rounds of bids."

The film launches one year after her debut book, "Melania," Fox News reported. The memoir provides an intimate portrait of Melania Trump and includes personal stories and family photos she had not previously shared publicly. "Melania" has remained atop the New York Times' best-selling list since its public release.

After last year's memoir release, the first lady told Fox News that writing her story was "an amazing journey filled with emotional highs and lows. Each story shaped me into who I am today," she said. "Although daunting at times, the process has been incredibly rewarding, reminding me of my strength, and the beauty of sharing my truth."

Authorities responded to a shooting near downtown Washington, DC, close to the Farragut Metro Station and within walking distance of the White House on Wednesday. Two National Guard members – a man and a woman – were reportedly killed, based on West Virginia's governor who announced their death but later clarified there were conflicting reports. One suspect was taken into custody, and the area around the shooting has been secured by law enforcement, according to Fox News.

"The animal that shot the two National Guardsmen, with both being critically wounded, and now in two separate hospitals, is also severely wounded, but regardless, will pay a very steep price," President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social before their death was announced.

Following the shooting, the White House was placed on lockdown, although Trump was not on site at the time. Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel have been briefed and are receiving continuous updates. The FBI is present at the scene, but no further details about the suspect or motive have been released yet, Fox News reported. The shooter was also critically wounded by the members of the National Guard who were attacked, and he was reportedly taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident while urging the public to avoid the area. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem expressed her thoughts and prayers for the National Guardsmen injured in the shooting. President Trump has been informed and is monitoring the situation as law enforcement secures the scene.

This is an ongoing event.

The Department of Homeland Security described the Brazilian national as "a criminal illegal alien," a status strongly disputed by her lawyer, Todd Pomerleau, who claims she "maintained her legal status" under DACA and is pursuing a green card. Karoline Leavitt has declined comment, but her brother Michael Leavitt expressed his only "concern has always been the safety, well-being, and privacy of my son." The mother awaits removal proceedings in Louisiana, as reported by NBC News.

Federal immigration officials recently detained Bruna Caroline Ferreira, a relative of White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, in Massachusetts, according to NBC News. The Brazilian national, who shares an 11-year-old son with Leavitt's older brother, Michael Leavitt, was described by a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson as "a criminal illegal alien from Brazil" who allegedly overstayed a tourist visa expiring in 1999. Though she arrived in the US as a child and was once arrested for suspected battery (a case result that remains unclear), the press secretary, at 28 the country's youngest, refused comment, WMUR reported.

Following the arrest, Michael Leavitt told WMUR that "The only concern has always been the safety, well-being, and privacy of my son." The father stated that his child had not spoken with Ferreira since her arrest and declared the mother "should not be sitting in a jail hours away from her family and from her child's life. She's a great mom, and from what I heard, I think he's been a pretty good dad," adding the mother "is locked up in Louisiana, where she should have never been in the first place."

Ferreira is now being held at the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center while awaiting removal proceedings, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed to NBC News, stating she violated her B2 tourist visa that required her departure by June 6, 1999. Her attorney, Todd Pomerleau, challenged the arrest and the designation, claiming she "maintained her legal status" under the Obama-era DACA program and is working on her green card. Pomerleau asserted that "Bruna has no criminal record whatsoever" and that she "is abruptly arrested and taken from her young child right before Thanksgiving," challenging the DHS: "I don't know where that is coming from. Show us the proof. There's no charges out there. She's not a criminal illegal alien."

A relative establishing a GoFundMe page for Ferreira claimed she adhered to all protocols after being brought to the US in 1998, stating: "Since then, she has done everything in her power to build a stable, honest life here. She has maintained her legal status through DACA, followed every requirement, and has always strived to do the right thing." Separate source claims indicated that Michael Leavitt's son "has lived full-time in New Hampshire with his father since he was born. He has never resided with his mother." The father won $1 million from a Draft Kings fantasy football contest in 2014 when he was engaged to Ferreira and their son was an infant.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that "All individuals unlawfully present in the United States are subject to deportation," which aligns with the administration's strategy. Since taking office, the Trump administration has engaged in a "mass deportation campaign," which includes a push for people unlawfully present in the country to "self-deport" as well as major law enforcement operations involving ICE, the Border Patrol, and the National Guard across the US.

At the time of Michael Leavitt's fantasy football win, Bruna Ferreira told the North Andover, Mass., Eagle-Tribune: "I need the lights fixed on the back of my car." She also added that they needed a lamp for her son's room, but otherwise, she observed that "Other than that we don't really need much. We have our health. We have a nice condo. We really are blessed."

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee met with Jonathan Pollard, who served 30 years in an American prison after being convicted of spying for Israel, in July. The meeting, which took place at the embassy in Jerusalem, surprised the White House and the CIA, The New York Times reported Thursday.

Pollard confirmed the meeting to the newspaper and noted this was the first time an American official hosted him in an office since his release. "It was a friendly meeting," he was quoted as saying. It should be noted that after being released from prison, Pollard is prevented from returning to the US, so the meeting with Huckabee could only take place in Israel.

According to the report, the meeting did not appear on Huckabee's official schedule, and its very existence worried the CIA station chief in Israel. The White House did not know about it in advance, and senior officials were unpleasantly surprised when they learned about it. According to the report, it is unclear whether the State Department approved holding the meeting in question.

At midday, Pollard told Israel Hayom the meeting between him and the ambassador was on a personal basis only. "Mr. Huckabee was a true gentleman. During the years I was in prison, he tried to help on a humanitarian basis. In particular, he provided great assistance to my late wife, Esther, who for many years was ill with cancer. I asked to thank him personally. The meeting was on a deeply personal basis only. We did not discuss political or other issues."

It should be noted that after being released from prison, Pollard is prevented from returning to the US, so the meeting with Huckabee could only take place in Israel.

Israel Hayom learned the meeting was held openly in the ambassador's office in Jerusalem, with embassy staff and others fully aware of its occurrence.

President Donald Trump praised Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo Monday night and disclosed that his son Barron is an enormous admirer of the star athlete following Ronaldo's appearance at an elite White House state dinner, US Sun reported.

The 40-year-old Portuguese icon attended the presidential gathering with Trump after a significant diplomatic session with Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Dressed in formal black evening wear, the footballer sat among prominent figures, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Vice President JD Vance.

Praising the sports celebrity, Trump stated: "This room is loaded up with the biggest leaders in the world – business, sports…" Trump continued: "My son is a big fan of Ronaldo… Barron got to meet him, and I think he respects his father a little bit more now – just the fact that I introduced you." The president concluded: "So I just want to thank you both for being here," US Sun reported.

The footballer, currently competing in the Saudi Pro League, initially appeared to be traveling as part of the crown prince's official party – an individual he refers to as his "boss," according to US Sun. However, he arrived in Washington via separate channels from the Saudi delegation in the afternoon. The crown prince, commonly referenced as MBS, contributed substantial financial resources to Ronaldo, the first footballer to achieve billionaire status, following his recruitment to compete for Al-Nassr in the Middle Eastern nation during 2023, US Sun reported.

In an interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo expressed his aspiration to meet Trump, whom he characterized as the president of peace. Ronaldo stated: "He is one of the guys who can help to change the world. One of the most important people is the US President." He elaborated: "If we can help each other to make this happen… I swear I cannot watch TV. Sometimes I start to see the news and I cannot…" Ronaldo added: "He is one of the guys I wish to meet to sit and have a nice talk." He continued: "If it is here, or in the US, wherever he wants, I know he was here in Saudi Arabia with our boss MBS." Ronaldo concluded: "I wish one day to meet him because he is one of the guys who can make things happen and I like people like that," according to US Sun.

Earlier this year, President Trump received a Portugal national team jersey bearing Ronaldo's signature, inscribed with the message: "To President Donald J. Trump, Playing for Peace," US Sun noted.

The American plan for the reconstruction of Gaza – revealed in the Washington Post at the beginning of the week and so far not denied by the administration – provides a glimpse into how President Donald Trump's people see the coming months. The initial impression from the document is the person who most likely authored it: Jared Kushner.

Although he holds no official position, there are many people who are in the know about the developments and insist that the president's son-in-law is deeply involved in Middle Eastern affairs. Kushner, the driving force behind the Abraham Accords, was the first to talk about evacuating Gaza and rebuilding it back in 2024. A year before the historic deals, Kushner convened a huge economic conference in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, which presented a detailed economic plan for the Palestinian Authority. The great similarity between the "2019 Manama Vision" and the "2025 Gaza Plan" immediately stands out to anyone familiar with what happened then.

A screenshot of the plan leaked to the Washington Post (Screenshot: WashingtonPost.com)

In any case, what is a thousand times more important regarding the new plan is our part in it. From the Trump administration's perspective, Israel has a crucial role in the journey to turn Gaza into a paradise. Time and again, Israel – meaning the IDF – is tasked with eliminating Hamas.

"Recovery in Gaza depends on dismantling Hamas," the plan says on page 4. There is even a timeline. For "6 to 12 months ... Israel fights to dismantle Hamas," it says on page 10. There are more examples, and they overlap one-to-one with the resolute message Trump recently conveyed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, "Finish the job." Another point is that despite the ridicule in Israel, the administration actually places great hope in the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). It is the one supposed to provide Gazans with food and to do so without Hamas. The Americans note that this challenging phase could be shortened, "if Hamas agrees to disarm voluntarily", which does not seem very realistic and passes the ball to IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir.

The plan says that "Once Gaza is demilitarized and deradicalized, the Trust will transfer authorities to an independent Palestinian Polity." In other words, the Trump administration envisions an independent Arab-Palestinian rule in Gaza. It is interesting what Ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich think about this goal. So far, they have not said a word about an "independent Palestinian government," and perhaps the reason for this is that, for now, everything is still stuck in the same initial stage that is a condition for the entire process: "Israel fights to dismantle Hamas."

Because this condition is not currently being met. In the current state of affairs, Zamir is not presenting a plan that will achieve the goal of "dismantling Hamas." According to what he told the Diplomatic-Security Cabinet in the last meeting, the collapse of the organization will take a long time. In the best case, months. In the less good case, years. At least that is what the ministers understood.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against the backdrop of a tank in the Gaza Strip (Jack GUEZ / AFP; Miriam Alster/Flash90)

And this is a serious problem. Because as long as Hamas continues to function as a military organization with a unified command, it is impossible to move forward on any aspect. Not to bring home the hostages, not to end the war, and not to build an alternative government in Gaza. No international body will destroy Hamas for us. Not America and not France, not Saudi Arabia and not the Emirates. This important mission, which is a necessary condition for returning normalcy to Israel, for stopping the international tide against us, and for starting to rebuild lives, rests solely on the IDF, the Shin Bet, and the other security branches.

Because in the end, the ones on the ground are the soldiers commanded by the chief of staff. Not Orit Strock, not Bezalel Smotrich, and not Netanyahu. Lt. Gen. Zamir is the one who tells the soldiers what to do. Just as Yitzhak Rabin was the chief of staff of the victory in the Six-Day War, and David Elazar was the chief of staff who recovered from the surprise of the Yom Kippur War, Lt. Gen. Zamir is the one who needs to provide results – not excuses. Because maybe in the television studios they will defend him, but in the White House sits Donald Trump, waiting. And on the ground, there are 20 living hostages, 28 dead, and one Nazi organization that should have been destroyed long ago.

Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz in June 2025 (Maayan Toaf / GPO)

The soldiers are ready to carry out such an order to destroy Hamas. The government gave it long ago. The army and its leader are the ones who must execute. It is that simple. On the day he took office, Zamir said, "From here our faces are turned in one direction – victory and the defeat of the enemy! This is our mission, this is our destiny. Upon our enemies who sought to destroy us, who slaughtered and raped, who burned and kidnapped – we will land a crushing blow! 'We will not return until they are finished.'" These are true and strong words. But half a year has passed. Now is the time to execute.

President Donald Trump's attention to construction details has resulted in solving what he described as a White House mystery involving extensive damage to the Rose Garden's recently installed limestone surface, USA TODAY reported.

The president revealed on Truth Social on Saturday that he had identified the party responsible for creating a 25-yard gash in the "limestone plus" material that was recently installed in the Rose Garden. "Three days ago, while admiring the stonework, I happened to notice a huge gash in the limestone that extended more than 25 yards long. It was deep and nasty!," Trump wrote on the platform. "I started yelling, 'Who did this, and I want to find out now!' — And I didn't say this in a nice manner. I wondered, 'Was it vandalism or, was it stupidity?'"

The White House's advanced security system, which Trump described as having the "finest security equipment anywhere," enabled staff to review video footage and identify those responsible for the damage.

The damage occurred when a subcontractor used a steel cart that was "broken and tilting badly, with it rubbing hard against the soft, beautiful stone," Trump explained in his social media post.

The president outlined his planned response to the incident. Trump stated he would "replace the stone, charge the contractor, and never let that contractor work at the White House again," USA TODAY reported. "Surfaces are very important to me as a Builder," the president wrote in his Truth Social post.

The limestone installation was part of a Rose Garden renovation project that had been underway throughout the summer months, with the project having been completed when Trump discovered the damage, according to USA TODAY. The White House has not specified when repairs to the damaged section will be finished. Trump had previously explained that the new surface was designed to prevent women's heels from sinking into muddy ground.

The Rose Garden project represents one element of Trump's broader renovation efforts at the White House, which have included changes to the Oval Office decor featuring golden accents, the replacement of grass with white stone in the Rose Garden, and plans for constructing a 90,000-square-foot ballroom in the East Wing, USA TODAY reported.

President Donald Trump announced the withdrawal of the United States from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization on Tuesday pointing to its anti-American and anti-Israel stances and its woke agenda, according to The New York Post.

In February, Trump initiated a 90-day assessment of America's involvement in UNESCO, emphasizing the need to investigate any antisemitism or anti-Israel attitudes within the agency. Administration officials, during this evaluation, raised concerns over UNESCO's policies on diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as its apparent pro-Palestinian and pro-Chinese leanings, a White House official told The New York Post.

"President Trump has decided to withdraw the United States from UNESCO – which supports woke, divisive cultural and social causes that are totally out-of-step with the commonsense policies that Americans voted for in November," Deputy White House Press Secretary Anna Kelly stated to The New York Post. "This President will always put America First and ensure our country's membership in all international organizations aligns with our national interests."

UNESCO's executive board has consistently pursued anti-Israel and anti-Jewish measures, such as classifying sites holy to Jews as "Palestinian world heritage" sites, according to a White House official. Moreover, UNESCO often employs language asserting that Palestine is "occupied" by Israel and denounces Israel's conflict with Hamas without addressing the terror group's oppressive rule in Gaza.

Trump previously directed the US to leave UNESCO in 2017, citing similar anti-Israel biases. The US rejoined in 2023 under former President Joe Biden, pledging to settle over 600 million dollars in membership fees. Israel also left the organization back then and has not rejoined.

In 1983, the US withdrew from the UN agency under former President Ronald Reagan, who noted that the organization "imposed foreign politics on nearly every issue it deals with. It showed hostility toward a free society, especially a free market and free press, and displayed unchecked budgetary growth."

As the once-warm personal relationship between US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has deteriorated, a source within Trump's inner circle claims the president's team is considering extending a White House invitation to Naftali Bennett, the former prime minister and Netanyahu's political rival. Their purpose is straightforward – to demonstrate to Netanyahu the depth of their growing frustration with him.

"Trump's people are letting Israel know, 'We will abandon you if you do not end this war,'" the anonymous insider revealed to The Washington Post. Pictured: Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (Reuters/Hatem Khaled, Miriam Alster/Flash90, Reuters/Brian Snyder)

While such statements might simply be emotional venting, they clearly indicate shifting attitudes in Washington. Trump has generously replenished Israel's weapons stockpiles and has refrained from voicing any criticism against Israel until now. However, his patience appears to be running out. Consequently, if Israel intends to accomplish its military objectives and emerge victorious from the conflict, it must act swiftly and adjust its approach accordingly.

A senior American official explained to Israel Hayom, "This administration remains supportive, but we're not dealing with the same personnel as during the first term. Israel needs to recognize this reality." When contacted, the office of former prime minister responded, "We have no knowledge of any such approach."

An armed man was shot by US Secret Service personnel on Sunday morning outside the White House, CNN reported shortly after the incident occurred. The confrontation happened after officers received information about a "suicidal individual" traveling to Washington, DC from Indiana.

According to Secret Service Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi, USSS members spotted a person matching the description of the armed individual near the White House and located his parked vehicle. "As officers approached, the individual brandished a firearm and an armed confrontation ensued, during which shots were fired by our personnel," Guglielmi said.

President Donald Trump was not at the White House during the Sunday morning incident, CNN reported. The wounded man was transported to a hospital following the shooting, though his current condition remains unknown.

The US Secret Service confirmed that none of their personnel suffered injuries during the confrontation. The investigation into the incident will be led by DC Metropolitan Police's Internal Affairs Division Force Investigations Team, as Guglielmi explained they are "the primary agency responsible for officer involved shootings in the District of Columbia."

This incident occurs amid heightened security concerns around government facilities in recent months. The Secret Service has maintained that their protocols for protecting government officials and facilities remain robust despite various challenges.

The identity of the armed individual has not been released, and authorities have not provided information about potential motives beyond the initial description of the person as "suicidal." Details about the exact location of the confrontation near the White House perimeter were also not specified in initial reports.
