Elbaz died of COVID at a Paris hospital in April 2021.

The entire space of the museum will be used to display items from key points in Elbaz's design career, including some of his couture designs, rare archival materials personal items, and photos that have never been shown to the public.

The exhibit will also show the debut collection for his label AZ Factory, which was never shown.

Items from the Love Brings Love show will also be incorporated into the exhibit, and Elbaz's partner, Alex Koo, and the AZ Factory label have recruited 46 of the world's top fashion brands to create looks to honor Elbaz. Contributors include Dior, Gucci, and Alexander McQueen. The looks will be displayed as part of a specially designed multimedia experience.

Yaara Keydar is curating the exhibit.

A user calling herself Partisan Princess, who is known for fighting antisemitism online and defending Israel, shared a flattering article on Gadot, which called her "the recent holder of the Sexiest Woman title."

As a response, one commentator wrote, "Y'all wanna be white so bad that's why your men breed with white women and have fetishes for them. You mixed yourself into the white race to blend in that's why the Germany [sic] were like ahhhhhht."  He then added, "No one wants Jewish women that's why your men are breeding with goyem [gentiles] lol."

Partisan princess shot back, "Someone's got an obsession with breeding. Freak. I'm sorry that mommy didn't love you enough."

Set to air on HBO Max this weekend, Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays the main character Carrie Bradshaw, dons the peacock-style dress from Maskit designer Sharon Tal in the opening scene. She can also be seen wearing the piece in a promo for the series.

This is not the first time Parker wore a Maskit piece. In 2019, she wore an evening gown by the brand's more affordable line to a movie premiere in New York City's Times Square.

Parker invited Tal to attend the series' premiere at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, to be held on Dec. 8.

The series has been the pinnacle of style since the 1990s and has drawn attention to a great many fashion designers. Parker's personal decision to don one of the pieces from the Israeli fashion house is sure to boost the Maskit brand's popularity.

In a perfectly timed move, Maskit is set to launch a series of pop-up stores in New York City's SOHO neighborhood, next to prestigious brands such as Gucci, Chanel, Moschino, and Celine, that will operate for three months.

Israeli designer Asia alleged this week that the skirt recently worn by music icon Beyoncé was copied from her own design.

On Thursday, the well-known singer posted three photographs on her Instagram page in which she wore a high-waisted green skirt with a slit – designed by French designer Alexandre Vauthier for a 2020 Fall collection – that was paired with a black plunge top.

A post shared by Beyoncé (@beyonce)

While fans praised the outfit, Asia was much less thrilled. She said she had previously presented a skirt identical to the one worn by Beyoncé at the 2020 Tel Aviv Fashion Week.

"The moment I saw it, I knew it was a ripoff because it is the same color and the same cut with pockets," Asia asserted, but did not rule out that it could have been a coincidence.

She further stressed that while the skirt was only presented to the general public in 2020, she had designed it in 2019.

"The skirt in question was presented to senior figures in Israel and the international fashion industry long before. It is one of my brand's first designs, and the brand launched in 2019."

Asia also explained that the inspiration for the skirt design came from her sister, who is ultra-Orthodox.

"She wears puffy high-waisted skirts, like a barbie, and the slit is a bold interpretation of her personality," she said.

On Sunday, Campbell posted a photo to Instagram, taken two years ago, of her first visit to the grave of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson, in Queens, New York.

The world-famous model posted the image, which was accompanied by the words, "TheRebbe, Rabbi Menachem Schneerson," to mark the 27th anniversary of his passing.

In an Instagram post from 2019 to mark the 25th anniversary of his passing, Campbell wrote: "Today, is the anniversary of the passing of #TheRebbe, Rabbi Menachem Schneerson. An inspirational leader, scholar, and teacher, the Rebbe taught that we are all inherently good and we each have the potential to change the world for the better, one good deed at a time.

"I have personally learned so much from his wisdom and teachings, and while I never met him, I visit his resting place in Queens to gain blessing and inspiration. With so much discord and division across our society, the Rebbe's words are more relevant than ever, and we so desperately need to take them to heart and learn from his example to always see the good in others, even those with whom we may disagree.

"Today I rededicate myself to the Rebbe's life-long mission of creating more light and goodness, and making a better future for ourselves and all of humanity."

In 2016, former president Shimon Peres hosted Campbell at the Peres Center for Peace  in honor of International Women's Day.

Peres presented Campbell with the "Women Leading Change" award in honor of her work for women and communities.

"Leaders like you, Mr. Peres, and Nelson Mandela, are what make the world a better place," said Campbell during a joint interview with Peres. "You inspire me."

Campbell's first visit to Israel was in 2012 to celebrate her 42nd birthday with her former boyfriend, Russian businessman Vladislav Doronin.

Elbaz had been battling the coronavirus for several weeks and was an induced coma for several days. His death was confirmed by Compagnie Financiere Richemont, his joint venture partner in AZ Factory, his latest fashion venture.

born in Casablanca, Morocco, in 1961, Elbaz moved to Israel with his family when he was 10 years old. He studied at the prestigious Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in Ramat Gan, and moved to New York in 1985,

He became one of the fashion world's stars soon after being recruited by Ralph Toledano to helm Guy Laroche in Paris in 1996. He followed that with a stint that saw him succeed couture legend Yves Saint Laurent at the helm of Rive Gauche ready-to-wear.

After three seasons, Elbaz was fired in the wake of Gucci Group's takeover of YSL, with Tom Ford taking over. Elbaz moved on to do one season with Krizia in Milan before sitting on the sidelines of the business for one year.

He eventually landed at Lanvin in 2001 and has been credited for turning the fashion house into a creative and commercial success.

Meryl Streep famously accepted her Oscar for Best Actress in 2012 for "The Iron Lady" wearing a draped, gold lame gown by Elbaz. Other celebrity fans included Demi Moore, Nicole Kidman, Catherine Deneuve, Kate Moss, Uma Thurman, Julianne Moore and Gwyneth Paltrow.

"I have lost not only a colleague but a beloved friend," Richemont founder and chairman Johann Rupert said in a statement.

"Alber had a richly deserved reputation as one of the industry's brightest and most beloved figures. I was always taken by his intelligence, sensitivity, generosity and unbridled creativity," Rupert said. "He was a man of exceptional warmth and talent, and his singular vision, sense of beauty and empathy leave an indelible impression.

"It was a great privilege watching Alber in his last endeavor as he worked to realize his dream of 'smart fashion that cares.' His inclusive vision of fashion made women feel beautiful and comfortable by blending traditional craftsmanship with technology – highly innovative projects which sought to redefine the industry," he added.

"Liberate Palestine," one person commented. "Your country does not exist. Palestine is the only legitimate country," another person wrote.

The post garnered many angry responses in Arabic depicting flags of Palestine, despite the fact that the winner is named based on the votes of viewers from all over the world.

One person wrote, "now all Jewish girls will think they have the most beautiful face in the world."

Nevertheless, the post received many encouraging responses too. "A wonderful achievement for our Israel," one person wrote.

"Very beautiful," wrote Israeli model Nataly Dadon in support of Shelbia.

"I can't believe that I am at the top of the list," Shelbia told Israel Hayom. "Thank you to everyone who voted for me."

As Hanukkah approaches, some Israeli restaurants want to disrupt the eight-day holiday by reinventing the traditional food that has come to define it.

At the Japanese restaurant Okinawa in Tel Aviv, guests can get a donut made from banh mi, the steamed bread popular in Vietnamese cuisine. It is aptly called sufbanhya – a play on the Hebrew word for donut and banh.

This special donut comes either with cherry and mascarpone cheese or, for vegans, they can choose from a chocolate-filled version.

The hamburger chain Moses is introducing the Leviburger, a fusion of the word "leviva" (latke in Hebrew) and burger. The chain says that you can get one for 75 shekels, with the usual toppings. The potato latkes serve as another patty.

Meanwhile, an Italian restaurant La Repubblica in Tel Aviv is offering ricotta-filled donuts, which come with Amaretto chocolate sauce on the side.

Israel Hayom was given the chance to taste some of the donuts mentioned in this review. While they may not appeal to all, they definitely offer up a new culinary twist to the Festival of Lights.
