The victim was attacked Tuesday near Chabad's world headquarters and continues recovering after hospital treatment.

The NYPD is investigating a stabbing incident that occurred on Tuesday in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, as a suspected antisemitic attack. Police have released photos of the suspect and are conducting an extensive manhunt while significantly increasing security forces in the area.

The incident took place shortly after 4:00 p.m. (local time) near the corner of Kingston Avenue and Lincoln Place – just one block from Chabad's headquarters.

According to police, the stabbing began with a verbal argument that initially appeared random between two men. The suspect walked away from the scene, but the victim, a 35-year-old man, followed him, and the two became involved in another confrontation that turned violent. According to reports, the attacker began cursing Jews and even said, "It's okay if the Holocaust were to happen again."

The suspected stabber

At this point, according to law enforcement sources, the suspect pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the victim in the chest. Despite the injury, the victim continued to chase the suspect for some distance. He was taken to Kings County Hospital, treated and released, with his condition described as not life-threatening.

Police are examining reports that antisemitic statements were made by the suspect during the confrontation – a detail that strengthens the suspicion of a hate crime. The investigation is taking place against a backdrop of growing tension in the Jewish community, partly following the attack in Sydney, Australia, and a recent antisemitic assault on the New York subway.

We just had a huge tragedy in Bondi Beach, and everybody in this neighborhood, in particular, is connected. We are all one body, literally, figuratively, and it's horrible," Crown Heights resident and Chabad community member Karna Nebenzahl said.

A continuing wave of deaths at Disney World's resort properties in Orlando has raised concern and unanswered questions in recent days, after authorities confirmed this week that a fifth person was found dead in less than a month.

The most recent incident occurred on November 8 at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. According to the Orange County Medical Examiner's Office, the guest, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said they had "relinquished jurisdiction" and released the body to the guest's personal physician. They did not provide details about the cause of death.

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

The initial report came from an X account that tracks real-time police calls across Disney World and stated that a person had been found "unconscious" on the property at 3:18 p.m. Later, authorities confirmed the individual had died.

Saratoga Springs, one of Disney's premium resorts, offers spacious villas, a spa and pools, with nightly rates that can reach 2,300 dollars. No additional information has been released so far about the circumstances of the death.

A string of unusual incidents since mid-October

The latest case follows four previous deaths:

October 14 – Sommer Equitz, 31, was found dead at the Contemporary Resort in what authorities ruled a suicide.

October 21 – A man in his 60s with a known medical condition died at Fort Wilderness.

October 23 – Matthew Alec Cohen, 28, died after jumping from the 12th floor of the Contemporary Resort.

November 2 – A woman in her 40s was found unresponsive at the Pop Century Resort and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Disney World and the Orange County Sheriff's Office have not commented on the unusual wave of incidents, and investigations remain ongoing. It is not yet clear whether the cases are connected or if the timing is a troubling coincidence.

Zohran Mamdani, the leading candidate for New York City mayor, has announced plans to transform the city's approach to tourism and strengthen its position as a major international destination. The city must reinvest in an industry that provides thousands of jobs and billions of dollars annually, while simultaneously keeping New York accessible to both residents and visitors, he said. Mamdani, who is expected to become the first immigrant in generations to serve as mayor, declared last week that he plans to expand the budget of New York City's tourism office and restore the city's reputation as a "city that welcomes everyone."

President Donald Trump's administration policies in recent years have severely damaged inbound tourism to the US, resulting in a decline of approximately 2 million visitors and economic damage of roughly $4 billion, he said. "This is not only a moral blow but also an economic one, and we must rebuild the city's image in the world," Mamdani stated.

Airbnb and affordable housing

Regarding the local law (Local Law 18) that significantly restricted Airbnb activity in the city, Mamdani emphasized that he supports policies designed to return apartments to the rental market for the benefit of residents. However, he said there is a need to work simultaneously to expand housing supply through public and private construction, and create comprehensive solutions that allow both residential living and affordable tourism.

The World Cup – "a defining moment for New York"

Among his plans, Mamdani seeks to leverage the 2026 World Cup, in which New York is expected to host major matches, as an opportunity for extensive urban and tourism development. "The World Cup is not just a sports celebration, but a tremendous economic and social opportunity," he explained. "This is the time to present New York anew to the world – and also to ourselves and make changes in the city that have been waiting for a long time."

He said he will create a new position, "tourism czar," who will be responsible for coordinating activities among all city departments and relevant entities in preparation for the event.

Message to the world

Mamdani, who frequently mentions his Indian-African heritage, views tourism as an important diplomatic tool. He said he aims to transform New York into an "open house for every culture," with emphasis on promoting small businesses, strengthening cultural centers, and integrating immigrant communities into the city's tourism system. "I want tourists who come here to feel the true diversity of the city, not just Times Square," Mamdani said at a campaign event held in the Queens neighborhood.

Despite Mamdani's success on social media and promises to change the face of the city, it remains unclear whether he possesses the managerial skills and budgetary resources necessary to fully implement his urban vision. Critics argue that this is an "internet-popular city," but the question is whether viral ideas can become sustainable city programs.

His initiatives depend heavily on cooperation from federal entities and require funding and coordination with entities that often disagree among themselves, which adds uncertainty to their success.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's official plane, Wing of Zion, took off early Thursday from Israel on its way to the UN General Assembly in New York to participate in the world leaders' annual General Debate – but its flight path has drawn particular attention.

Unlike the usual route that passes over many countries in central and northern Europe, the plane adhered to the most southern course possible.

According to flight tracking data, so far the plane passed solely through the airspace of Greece and Italy, then continued westward toward the Atlantic Ocean through the Strait of Gibraltar – without crossing any other foreign territory. This constituted an unusual step that pointed to the delicate political and legal situation of the prime minister.

The plane did not pass through countries that have not explicitly rejected the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant against Netanyahu, possibly over concern that certain European states might take action against Netanyahu following recent calls to enforce those international warrants.

Aviation experts noted that such a course is particularly unusual since it extends the flight by about 600 kilometers (373 miles) and creates operational constraints, but in this case the security and legal considerations appear to outweigh other concerns.

As it entered the Atlantic Ocean through the Strait of Gibraltar, Wing of Zion was expected to continue directly west toward the east coast of the United States, where Netanyahu will land ahead of his scheduled speech at the UN General Assembly in New York.

A Flydubai plane en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv was forced to land in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday after a passenger suffered a medical emergency.

The flight, which departed earlier in the day, diverted when one of the passengers suffered a stroke midair. The pilot made the immediate decision to land, explaining that continuing to Tel Aviv was not an option in a life-threatening situation. A company official said there was "no other choice."

The passenger, believed to be Israeli, was taken off the aircraft and transferred to receive medical treatment. Ground staff worked to unload his luggage so the flight could continue smoothly. Meanwhile, the rest of the passengers remained safely on board.

According to estimates, the plane will be able to take off again within about an hour and resume its journey to Tel Aviv.

Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair is threatening to halt its operations in Israel indefinitely, even after the current fighting against Hamas in Gaza subsides.

Chief Executive Officer Michael O'Leary said this week that the company is "tired of being messed around" by the authorities at Ben-Gurion Airport, and is seriously reconsidering whether to continue investing in its Israel route.

His unusual comments came as Ryanair extended its suspension of flights to Israel until at least the end of October. O'Leary noted that beyond the difficult security situation, Ben-Gurion Airport places heavy burdens on budget airlines, including high operating costs.

Industry experts estimate that Ryanair, which operates hundreds of routes across Europe and beyond, could shift aircraft to more stable destinations if it sees no meaningful improvement in Israel. "The company has plenty of alternatives and is not tied to the Israeli market," one aviation source said.

For Israeli travelers, who have come to rely on Ryanair for especially cheap flights to European destinations, the airline's withdrawal would deal a serious blow. The loss of Ryanair could sharply reduce competition and send ticket prices soaring.

Dr. Adir Shifron, an Israeli passenger with preferred status on Wizz Air flights, recounts antisemitic and humiliating treatment he experienced from the company's ground crew at Larnaca Airport in Cyprus.

The incident occurred on August 23, when Dr. Shifron and his wife arrived to check in their luggage at Wizz Air's general check-in counter. According to him, the company representative asked him where he was flying, and when he answered "Tel Aviv," she hurled at him the statement: "Stop the war."

Dr. Adir Shifron reported that he was attacked with antisemitic statements by a Wizz Air company representative. Shifron tried to respond politely: "I hope the war ends soon and that all sides are suffering," but the representative continued to attack: "Only you are killing the Palestinians." When he reminded her of the massacre that occurred on October 7 in Israel, she replied: "No, you are killing the Palestinians for 47 years."

Shifron tried to find out the representative's name, but she refused to provide it until her supervisor confirmed that it was a representative named Maria.

In an official letter to company management, Dr. Shifron described the humiliating incident and demanded a public apology, disciplinary measures against the representative, and a commitment to a mechanism that would prevent such cases from recurring in the future: "This is not only deeply offensive but also antisemitic," he wrote. "As a frequent Wizz Air passenger and a Priority customer, I expect to be treated with respect—not targeted with personal, political, and hateful remarks from your staff."

The airline responded in an official letter through company representative Mohamed Salem, stating that the relevant department was investigating the case. However, more than a week later, no further response or public apology has been received.

Ahead of the holiday travel surge and following numerous scam incidents, the Israel Airports Authority warned on Tuesday against entities offering valet parking services at Ben Gurion Airport. The authority clarifies that no such service exists at the airport, and anyone offering it operates illegally, without supervision, and may cause significant damage to travelers.

The public complaints department at Ben Gurion recently received numerous reports from travelers who used these entities and discovered, upon returning from abroad, that their vehicles had traveled hundreds, if not thousands, of kilometers while they were on vacation.

Others received damaged vehicles, and sometimes, long after their return, also received traffic violation notices, parking fines, and speeding tickets. Many travelers also reported they couldn't obtain receipts for the service they paid for.

The authority emphasizes that these services are offered only by "hustlers," without permits and against the law. The authority bears no responsibility for damages caused to travelers or vehicles, and anyone choosing such services assumes full risk.

Following the surge in incidents, the Israel Airports Authority decided to intensify measures against these companies, file lawsuits, remove their representatives from Ben Gurion premises, and work to prevent their operations within the airport grounds.

The authority notes that the official and safe alternative is using only the authority's short-term or long-term parking lots located throughout Ben Gurion Airport. Free and convenient shuttle service operates directly to the terminals from all long-term parking lots.

In 2025, the United States tourism industry faced one of the most severe crises in its history – a dramatic decline in visitor volumes from around the world. According to data from the US Department of Commerce, key nations, including Canada, Germany, Brazil, India, China, and the United Kingdom, recorded unprecedented drops in arrivals to the US.

Visa complications created substantial barriers, including delays, new fees, and increased requirements, which established significant obstacles for tourists from numerous countries.

An unwelcoming image emerged as harsh messaging on immigration matters and treatment of foreign nations strengthened perceptions that the US had become less tourist-friendly. A single bureaucratic error or missing detail in entry documents to the United States can result in finding yourself shackled and transported to a federal detention facility.

Diplomatic tensions contributed to an atmosphere of alienation and distrust through conflicts with China, Canada, Europe, and Middle Eastern nations. The internet overflows with statements from Canadian, German, British, and other tourists who canceled US vacations because they "don't feel safe" or due to a "hostile environment."

US President Donald Trump points a finger as he departs for Canada to attend the G7 Leaders' Summit, from Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, US, June 15, 2025 (Photo: Kevin Lamarque/Reuters)

The statistics

A 34% decline in tourism from Canada, equivalent to lost revenue of approximately $29 billion.

A 28% decrease in tourists from Germany and 25% drop from France and Spain.

A 20% decline in tourism from China and 15% decrease from Japan and South Korea.

Emerging markets, such as India and Brazil, also exhibit retreat trends.

While European and Asian countries like Spain, Thailand, and France enjoy growth in demand, the United States loses its historical advantage as the world's premier tourism destination.

Unmistakable message

Economists and tourism industry professionals warn that without policy modifications, visa restrictions, increased fees, and deterrent rhetoric, the United States could lose its international market share for years to come. President Donald Trump's policies may have been designed to appear tough and security-focused, but in practice, they damage America's own economy and its reputation as a dream destination for tourists worldwide.

Long-standing rumors about Disney World are now receiving surprising confirmation from within: a former employee at the Florida park claims that an unofficial protocol exists whereby deaths cannot be declared within the park grounds.

According to him, "no one has ever or will ever die at a Disney park or property." Even in severe emergency cases, paramedics continue resuscitation efforts until they reach outside the complex grounds in order to preserve the image of 'the happiest place on earth'.

Tom Cruz, a former park employee (who has no connection to the famous actor), explained in a TikTok video how he witnessed a visitor collapse while waiting in line for an attraction. According to him, resuscitation efforts continued for a long time despite it being clear they were not bearing fruit. "I said, man, this guy is dead, why are they still trying to bring him back?" Cruz recounted, 'And the manager said, "No one dies at Disney World until they're off the property and then they're declared dead.'"

Thus, despite the resuscitation attempts being unsuccessful, the paramedics continued the procedures for an extended time, just to ensure that the death declaration would not occur within the park grounds.

@tcruznc Disney does not play, you can not die at Disney World if you wanted to! #fyp #foryou #storytime ♬ original sound - Tom Cruz

Cruz added that this is part of a longstanding policy, designed to preserve the experience of millions of visitors each year, and to protect Disney's unique image as a tourist destination where dreams come true – and where disasters do not occur.

The video went viral on social media and sparked heated debate: Is this a legitimate reputation management strategy, or a cynical concealment of unpleasant realities behind the scenes of "the happiest place on earth?"

It should be noted that despite the rumors on social media, rare cases of death at Disney parks have been reported in the past due to accidents, medical conditions, or equipment malfunctions.
