A Colorado man who orchestrated a premeditated terror attack against pro-Israel demonstrators using homemade incendiary devices now faces federal hate crime charges alongside 16 state counts of attempted first-degree murder, according to newly filed court documents. The suspect spent a full year planning the assault that wounded 12 people during a peaceful rally calling for the release of hostages held by Hamas, with investigators revealing he disguised himself as a gardener to get close to his targets.

Mohamed Soliman, 45, admitted to federal investigators that he conducted online research through YouTube to learn Molotov cocktail construction techniques before purchasing necessary materials and assembling the weapons, ABC News reported. Court filings indicate the Egyptian-born suspect enrolled in a concealed carry course to acquire firearms training but was forced to rely on homemade explosives after being denied gun purchases due to his illegal immigration status.

"Soliman stated he would do it (conduct an attack) again," according to state court documents cited by ABC News. The suspect allegedly revealed to law enforcement that "he wanted to kill all Zionist people and wished they were all dead" while emphasizing his attack targeted supporters of what he called "the killings of people on his land (Palestine)."

Boulder County authorities set Soliman's bond at $10 million during his initial court appearance Monday afternoon, ABC News reported. The father of five acknowledged receiving a protection order prohibiting contact with victims and is scheduled to return Thursday for formal state charge filing.

Federal court papers obtained by ABC News detail how Soliman drove approximately 100 miles from his Colorado Springs residence to Boulder on Sunday, stopping to purchase gasoline along the route. The suspect filled eight glass containers acquired from Target with fuel, placed them in a black storage container, and adopted gardener clothing to blend in among the demonstrators.

Law enforcement officials described how Soliman deployed both a "makeshift flamethrower" and threw incendiary devices into the crowd of pro-Israel supporters gathered at a pedestrian mall, ABC News reported. Witnesses heard him shouting "Free Palestine" during the assault, according to FBI statements.

Social media footage captured during the attack shows Soliman wielding what appeared to be Molotov cocktails while saying "How many children killed" and "end Zionist," court documents revealed to ABC News. The suspect later told investigators he "only threw two at the group because he got scared."

Soliman specifically targeted the Run for Their Lives walk, which seeks to raise awareness about remaining hostages held by Hamas in Gaza while demanding their immediate release, ABC News reported. Court filings indicate he "specifically targeted" this group after discovering them through online searches.

Eight victims, ranging from 52 to 88 years old, required hospitalization Sunday for burn injuries, with two remaining hospitalized as of Monday, according to police statements reported by ABC News. Four additional individuals with minor injuries came forward later, bringing the total victim count to 12.

FBI Denver Special Agent in Charge Mark Michalek revealed that 16 unused Molotov cocktails were within "arm's reach" of the suspect during his arrest, ABC News reported. "The unlit Molotov cocktails were comprised of glass wine carafe bottles or Ball jars containing clear liquid and red rags hanging out of the bottles," according to court documents.

Investigators also discovered a "backpack weed sprayer, potentially containing a flammable substance," with laboratory analysis determining both the bottles and sprayer contained 87 octane gasoline mixed with xylene, ABC News reported.

A Department of Homeland Security bulletin reviewed by ABC News characterized the attack as "unique due to both the targeting of people and the use of an improvised flamethrower in addition to [improvised incendiary devices]." The agency expressed ongoing concerns that "successful Homeland attacks and messaging from Foreign Terrorist Organizations and their supporters linked to the Israel-Hamas conflict will continue to inspire violent extremists to mobilize to violence in the United States."

Immigration records show Soliman entered the United States illegally, according to Department of Homeland Security officials cited by ABC News. He arrived in August 2022 on a B2 tourism visa and filed for asylum the following September, but his visa expired in February 2023.

Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary for public affairs at the Department of Homeland Security, confirmed to ABC News that Soliman received a work permit after his visa expiration, but that authorization ended March 28, making his presence in the country illegal since then. The suspect worked as an Uber driver until the company banned his account following the attack.

Boulder Mayor Aaron Brockett emphasized the meaningful nature of the weekly Run for Their Lives demonstrations while condemning the violence. "It's very meaningful. And it is just so outrageous and despicable that such a peaceful, well-intentioned gathering was violated like this with a horrific act of violence," he told ABC News Live Monday.

"I have heard from our Jewish residents about the fear that they've had. And of course, those fears came true yesterday with that horrific terrorist attack," Brockett stated. "So we have to work together to combat this rising antisemitism and make sure that everyone in our community is safe and valued and certainly our Jewish community members."

Attorney General Pamela Bondi issued a statement Monday declaring, "We will never tolerate this kind of hatred. We refuse to accept a world in which Jewish Americans are targeted for who they are and what they believe."

President Donald Trump addressed the attack for the first time Monday through a Truth Social post, writing that the crimes will be "prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law." "This is yet another example of why we must keep our Borders SECURE, and deport Illegal, Anti-American Radicals from our Homeland. My heart goes out to the victims of this terrible tragedy, and the Great People of Boulder, Colorado!" the president added.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio responded via Twitter Monday, stating, "In light of yesterday's horrific attack, all terrorists, their family members, and terrorist sympathizers here on a visa should know that under the Trump Administration we will find you, revoke your visa, and deport you."

Former President Joe Biden released a statement Monday saying he and former first lady Jill Biden are "praying for the victims of the violent, targeted attack on the Jewish community in Boulder." "We must stand united against Antisemitic violence and hate," he concluded.

The release of the trailer for Disney's live-action remake of "Snow White" has sparked an antisemitic campaign on social media against Israeli actress Gal Gadot. Pro-Palestinian users have criticized Gadot's casting as the Evil Queen and called for a boycott of the film, citing her Israeli background and previous military service.

This past weekend, Disney unveiled the first trailer for its live-action adaptation of "Snow White" at the D23 fan convention in California. The film, slated for release in March 2025, features Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen alongside Rachel Zegler in the title role of Snow White.

The trailer's release prompted a wave of reactions online. While hundreds of thousands of Israeli and Jewish users lavished praise on Gadot, expressing immense pride, a significant number of responses criticized her casting. The most vehement opposition came from pro-Palestinian users, who not only objected to Gadot's role but also directed harsh personal attacks against her.

One comment read, "She may be more beautiful than Rachel Zegler, but at least Rachel isn't a Zionist." Others wrote, "The CGI for the dwarfs looks fine, but they need to reshoot the evil Zionist Gal Gadot." As discussions continued, references to Zionism and Gadot's military service became increasingly prevalent.

Numerous responses went beyond criticism to call for a boycott of the film. "Remember, this movie stars the proud Zionist and former IDF soldier Gal Gadot. Don't watch or support it," read dozens of such comments. Another user wrote, "Gal Gadot playing a villain in this movie is perfect casting."

The backlash continued with comments such as, "Gal Gadot in the new 'Snow White' coming in 2025? No thanks. The movie is ruined before I've even seen it." Other users asked, "Why are there Zionists everywhere?" and claimed, "Gal Gadot will treat Snow White the same way her Zionist counterparts treat Palestinians."

One pro-Palestinian user added, "Don't support this movie. Gal Gadot plays the Evil Queen in it. I know we can't blame Rachel Zegler, but Gadot is an enthusiastic Zionist who served in the Israeli army. Please boycott this movie for all Palestinians." The most offensive comment stated, "The Zionist soldier baby-killer Gal Gadot is the perfect casting for the Evil Queen. Boycott this movie and any movie Gal Gadot takes part in."

After Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev Tuesday harshly criticized Iran's decision to hold military drills close to the countries' shared border, Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh revealed what was truly behind the unusual exercises being conducted by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Iranian army.

"The drills carried out by our country in the northwest border areas... are a question of sovereignty," Khatibzadeh said in a statement on the ministry's website.

Tehran "will take all measures it judges necessary for its national security," he said, adding that "Iran will not tolerate the presence of the Zionist regime near our borders" – an allusion to Azerbaijan's friendly relations with Iran's enemy Israel.

Tensions between Baku and Tehran have flared in recent weeks after Azerbaijani police and customs officials began imposing a "road tax" on Iranian trucks shipping fuel and other goods to neighboring Armenia. A section of the main route to Armenia passes through Azerbaijan on land Armenian forces occupied for decades until last year's 44-day war between them over the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had criticized Tehran over the drills, calling them "a very surprising event."

"Every country can carry out any military drill on its own territory. It's their sovereign right. But why now, and why on our border?" he said in an interview with Turkish news agency Anadolu published on Monday.

Iran hadn't held military drills near the border since Azerbaijan became independent from the former Soviet Union almost 30 years ago, he said.

Aliyev said Iran ignored Azerbaijan's calls for many years to stop transporting goods to Nagorno-Karabakh, an ethnic Armenian enclave that's internationally recognized as Azerbaijani territory. No Iranian truck has entered Nagorno-Karabakh since Azerbaijan started imposing the tax, Aliyev said.

Iran's ambassador in Baku, Seyyed Abbas Musavi, said the exercises "can't be seen as a threat to our friends," and that Azerbaijan had been told about them months earlier, according to the Baku-based APA news service. Iranian officials have also told private companies to stop transporting goods to Nagorno-Karabakh, Musavi said.

A senior cleric in Iran last week defended the IRGC's decision to hold military drills near the border with Azerbaijan as "a message to Israel not to make any mistakes," according to Iran's semi-official Fars news agency, in a reference to Israel's ties to Azerbaijan.

Iran and Azerbaijan share a border of around 430 miles. Relations have soured as of late because of the reported use of Israeli arms during the recent Nagorno-Karabakh flare-up.

U.K. Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn has sparked new anger with the publication of a video showing him saying British Zionists "don't understand English irony," at a conference hosted by the Palestinian Return Centre in London in 2013.

The Daily Mail published the video on Thursday. It shows Corbyn at the conference, which had been promoted online by the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, the terrorist group that rules the Gaza Strip, where he was discussing a speech given by Palestinian Authority Ambassador to the U.K. Manuel Hassassian.

Corbyn said Hassassian had made a "powerful, passionate, effective speech" in Parliament about "this history of Palestine [and] the rights of the Palestinian people." He said the "thankfully silent Zionists" in the audience had "dutifully recorded" Hassassian's speech, and had confronted him once it was over.

"They [Zionists] clearly have two problems. One is that they don't want to study history, and secondly, having lived in this country [the U.K.] for a very long time, probably all their lives, they don't understand English irony either," Corbyn said.

"I think they need two lessons, which we can perhaps help them with."

Corbyn shared a stage at the conference with Alan Hart, known for his conspiracy theories about the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, who in his own speech described Zionism as "a cancer at the heart of international affairs," and former deputy head of the Muslim Council of Britain Daud Abdullah, who put his name to a letter saying the British Royal Navy should be attacked if it tried to keep weapons from being smuggled into the Gaza Strip.

Another speaker was Rev. Stephen Sizer, who in 2015 was banned from social media outlets for blaming Israel for the 9/11 attacks and was even banned by the Church of England authorities for his "anti-Semitic ideas."

Corbyn wrote a letter defending Sizer, saying Sizer had been victimized for daring to "speak out against Zionism" and was "under attack by certain individuals intent on discrediting the excellent work that Stephen does in highlighting the injustices of the Palestinian Israeli situation."

Editor of the Jewish Chronicle newspaper Stephen Pollard said that the footage of Corbyn's speech in the Daily Mail "shows the reality of what [he] thinks of Jews, as somehow a breed apart."

Pollard said Corbyn uses the term "Zionists" as code for "Jews."

Corbyn consistently denies allegations that he is anti-Semitic but has been the subject of much controversy in recent weeks amid a focus on the Labour Party's failure to address rising anti-Semitism among its members. Recent reports have shown him laying a wreath at a memorial to the Black September terrorists who murdered 11 Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics and attending the wedding of a known Holocaust denier.

In late July, three Jewish newspapers in the U.K. ran a joint editorial calling Corbyn "an existential threat to Jewish life in this country." The editorial, which ran in the Jewish Chronicle, the Jewish News, and Jewish Telegraph, said that since Corbyn's election as Labour leader in 2015, the party had grown increasingly tolerant of anti-Semitism.

"The party that was, until recently, the natural home for our community has seen its values and integrity eroded by Corbynite contempt for Jews and Israel," the editorial said.
