The massacre perpetrated in Sydney against hundreds of Jews celebrating Hanukkah proves once again that Islamists are waging a religious war against the people of Israel and against all non-believers in the West. They consistently choose a Jewish or Christian holiday to commit barbaric attacks. The security failures of the Australian authorities are glaring. For several long minutes, the terrorists fired on the crowd without any police intervention. The worst was averted thanks to the audacity of a passerby, a courageous Muslim; he fought one of the terrorists and managed to seize his hunting rifle…

From Osama bin Laden's planned attack in New York on September 11, 2001, to the present day, Western nations have remained unable to eradicate the scourge of Islamist terror. Numerous attacks have been thwarted thanks to invaluable intelligence provided by Mossad to various intelligence services. Without these warnings, the list of Islamist attacks in Europe and Australia would have been longer and more deadly, targeting innocent men, women, and children.

Encouraged, trained, and financed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, terrorist cells from Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Hezbollah operate with impunity across all continents. Since October 7, 2023, they have been taking advantage of American restraint and European disarray. Worse still, Western powers are allowing pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the streets in the name of "freedom of expression." Chancelleries in Europe are working by all diplomatic means to create a Palestinian state. Are they unaware that their actions indirectly fuel anti-Semitic waves and sow terror? Are they so masochistic or so naive? Why this indifference to the just cause of the Jewish state? This "collusion" with the devil?

There is no difference between the Palestinian Hamas terrorists and all the Shiite and Sunni terrorists who perpetrate attacks in Sydney, Washington, Manchester, or Paris. They all wish to create Islamic states in place of the Jewish state and Christian countries. Even today, Saladin remains a hero of Islam, the great victor over the Crusaders in 1187. Why turn a deaf ear, why ignore the words of Islamist leaders who clearly declare in Arabic: "Our goal is to mobilize the Muslim masses for the conquest again of Jerusalem"?

The attack in Sydney on the first day of Hanukkah symbolizes our age-old struggle against evil. We light candles to dispel darkness and obscurantism, and to illuminate the fundamental values of Judaism. Members of the Loubavitch movement were targeted once again. Islamist barbarians premeditatedly murdered representatives of Chabad, the Hebrew acronym for wisdom, intelligence, and knowledge.

We have no choice but to continue our tireless fight against the cult of death. It is our collective destiny, for better or for worse. For over a century, we have been fighting the scourge of Palestinian terrorism, and every day we thwart planned attacks and every night we arrest those who commission them, perpetrators, and suspects.

The Jewish state is therefore acting in legitimate self-defense and has the absolute right to wage a fight, without pity and without mercy, against all enemies of all kinds, against all those who want to wipe us off the map, whether they are Palestinian or Iranian.

No moral lessons, especially from Europe, and from France in particular, nor any condemnation will be able to prevent the Israeli government from continuing, with the support of the IDF, the Shin Bet, and the Mossad, the fight against the scourge of terrorism in Gaza, Damascus, Beirut, or Tehran.

The waves of antisemitism and acts of terror cannot be eradicated without an international strategy. It's not enough to simply increase police presence outside synagogues and community centers, organize mourning ceremonies, or express solidarity after each attack; these are merely empty words and fine expressions. What's needed is concrete action through draconian laws, including freezing bank accounts and cracking down on incitement to hatred of Jews in the streets and mosques.

The demonstration became infamous for the chant "Gas the Jews." The analysis suggests a direct link between unchecked hate marches and subsequent violence against the Jewish community.

Did the perpetrators of the Bondi beach terror attack attend the Sydney rally defined by the slogan "Gas the Jews" merely 48 hours post-October 7? An investigation by the UK-based Campaign Against Antisemitism organization raised this inquiry based on new findings.

According to the outlet's digital forensics team, which included a video posted on their X account, there is reason to believe Naveed Akram and his father, Sajid Akram, were present at the demonstration featuring the "Gas the Jews" chant on October 9, 2023.

Campaign Against Antisemitism recalled that Australian law enforcement claimed during that period – in opposition to witness accounts – that the mob was chanting "Where's the Jews", implying this nuance somehow ameliorated the offense.

While the Campaign Against Antisemitism assigned a medium level of confidence to this identification, it released the raw footage to allow viewers to form their own conclusions.

If confirmed, posited this would serve as undeniable evidence – particularly for Western law enforcement officials who seem last to understand – that a direct trajectory exists between these hate marches and the murder of Jews.

"If it is true, it would represent some of the clearest evidence yet – to those, such as police chiefs across the West, who seem to be the among the last to grasp it – that there is a direct line between the hate marches and demonstrations and the murder of Jews," it said.

Western governments should have dismantled this infrastructure of incitement years ago, CAA asserted. "The authorities across the West should have clamped down on the incitement years ago. It is too late for the dead, and, if they do not finally act, it will soon be too late for the West as well."

The pro-Iranian offensive cyber group Handala published a message on its Telegram channel claiming it had breached the smartphone of former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.

To substantiate its claim, the group released several files, photos, and documents allegedly verifying the breach under the title "Operation Octopus".

The message posted by the hackers

Following an inquiry by Israel Hayom, Bennett's office initially stated that he was "unaware of such an event." However, after political commentator Amit Segal reported that the phone had indeed been breached, Bennett's team rushed to issue a statement clarifying that the matter was being handled by relevant security and cyber officials and that the device in question is not currently in use.

Bennett did not stop there and issued yet another clarification, suggesting it is possible the phone was not breached at all. Amid the confusion, Israel Hayom contacted Shai Nahum, CEO of the tech firm CYGHT and a cyber warfare expert.

"According to forensic analysis of the leaked files, there is a high probability that this is not Bennett's phone, but apparently that of one of his associates," Nahum said.

He noted that the leaked photos and video clips had been processed by editing software known as Handbrake, "most likely to change the video format and edit various data points, including metadata."

Nahum added that an analysis of the leaked contact list indicates it does not belong to Bennett himself, but rather to someone likely close to him. For example, contacts are saved under names such as "Bennett's Minister," "Revital Bennett Comms," and even "Naftali Bennett."

"It appears there is an attempt here to portray Bennett as weak, as someone who does not know how to deal with cyber threats or analyze risks properly," Nahum emphasized. "It is understood that this is a group with political and regional interests operating under Iranian sponsorship."

"Sophistication level has risen"

Itay Schwartz, co-founder and CTO of the cyber company MIND, added: "Even before asking if Bennett's phone was truly hacked, one must understand what this event signals: The level of sophistication of cyberattacks in our region has risen dramatically. In recent years, we see actors like Hezbollah and Iran improving capabilities, after the Syrian Army's cyber unit also operated here for years. The enemy is simply improving.

"From the details published, it seems this is an old device that was not updated – exactly the type of weakness attackers know how to exploit. But it is important to emphasize: Even if there was a hack here, it does not mean the hackers received full access to all information. The moment an attacker enters a personal device, he can try to spread to additional assets, because everything is connected, but there is no certainty he succeeded," he added.

"The central lesson is that information security no longer stops at the device itself. A single civilian device today holds huge amounts of sensitive, personal, and sometimes classified information. To prevent such events, one needs not only to protect the phone – but to detect early when information starts moving to a place it shouldn't reach," Schwartz concluded.

The NYPD is investigating a stabbing incident that occurred on Tuesday in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, as a suspected antisemitic attack. Police have released photos of the suspect and are conducting an extensive manhunt while significantly increasing security forces in the area.

The incident took place shortly after 4:00 p.m. (local time) near the corner of Kingston Avenue and Lincoln Place – just one block from Chabad's headquarters.

According to police, the stabbing began with a verbal argument that initially appeared random between two men. The suspect walked away from the scene, but the victim, a 35-year-old man, followed him, and the two became involved in another confrontation that turned violent. According to reports, the attacker began cursing Jews and even said, "It's okay if the Holocaust were to happen again."

The suspected stabber

At this point, according to law enforcement sources, the suspect pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the victim in the chest. Despite the injury, the victim continued to chase the suspect for some distance. He was taken to Kings County Hospital, treated and released, with his condition described as not life-threatening.

Police are examining reports that antisemitic statements were made by the suspect during the confrontation – a detail that strengthens the suspicion of a hate crime. The investigation is taking place against a backdrop of growing tension in the Jewish community, partly following the attack in Sydney, Australia, and a recent antisemitic assault on the New York subway.

We just had a huge tragedy in Bondi Beach, and everybody in this neighborhood, in particular, is connected. We are all one body, literally, figuratively, and it's horrible," Crown Heights resident and Chabad community member Karna Nebenzahl said.

Despite filing a police report and providing video evidence, the suspects remain at large.

Antisemitism in the United States continues to rear its head. The New York Police Department is investigating the assault on Chabad members in the city's subway who were making their way to Brooklyn from a Hanukkah event in which they participated. One of them, Mandy Azraf, shared his account with Israel Hayom a day after the attack.

"We traveled yesterday to light Hanukkah menorahs with Jews, to bring Jewish light to their homes. We met Jews from all walks of life and, after several hours, went down to the subway to the World Chabad Center. During the transfer between Line 4 and Line 3, a father and son were present. The father began attacking and cursing the boy, who appeared to be around bar mitzvah age. There were about eight of us boys, and I naively thought this was a mentally disturbed person."

He continued: "We entered the car together with him, and then he began shouting anti-Jewish slurs and making threatening gestures toward the boys and toward me. I started recording his actions, and then his son, who was standing in front of me and hadn't done anything, began attacking me, taking my phone, making gun signs at my head, and told me, 'If you don't give me your phone now, I will kill you.'"

Later, Mandy recounted that one of the boys tried to help him, but "the father of the boy who attacked me grabbed the boy by the throat and pressed him against a pole in the car. The moment the doors opened, we immediately fled, even though it wasn't the station we were supposed to get off at."

He pointed out that he received almost no assistance from the other passengers who witnessed the entire incident: "It was a difficult incident because no one tried to intervene and stop it. But the moment something physical started happening, two people tried to stop it, but most of the people in the car didn't do anything."

Mandy and his friends, who were with him, filed a police complaint shortly after the antisemitic attack: "I sent the videos to an officer on WhatsApp, and they said they would check it. Today we gave testimony at the police station, they had us sign forms, and showed us pictures of the suspects. According to what we understood, the officers know their identities but haven't caught them yet."

Against the backdrop of the shocking massacre in Australia, Azraf warned about the rise in antisemitism also in New York and pointed an accusing finger at newly elected mayor Zohran Mamdani: "Yesterday the mayor of New York visited The Ohel [memorial site for Chabad leader] because of the attack in Sydney, but regarding what's happening in the New York subway, he's not protecting Jewish security and isn't condemning the incident."

Looking ahead, Mandy refused to bow his head: "It seems antisemitic incidents are starting to intensify. We're trying to protect ourselves, but it's clear we won't hide Jewish symbols. We'll continue to illuminate the darkness that's trying to prevent us from doing what we need to do."

US President Donald Trump delivered a speech Tuesday night during the official Hanukkah reception at the White House, warning of a sharp rise in antisemitism in the United States, weakening support for Israel in the halls of Congress, and the phenomenon of denying the Oct. 7 Hamas attack. In his remarks, Trump emphasized his commitment to the Jewish people and their security, and sent forceful messages both toward Hamas and toward anti-Israel political forces in the US.

The president opened with a reference to the antisemitic attack that occurred during Hanukkah in Sydney, saying it was "an antisemitic attack, exactly what it is," and added that "all nations must stand together against the forces of radical Islamic terror." According to him, the US "joins in mourning the dead and prays for the speedy recovery of the wounded."

Trump then moved to sharp criticism of the American political system, warning of a profound shift in the balance of power. "The Jewish and Israeli lobby used to be the strongest in Washington. That's no longer the case. Today you have to be very careful," he said. According to him, "You have a Congress, especially the House of Representatives, that is becoming antisemitic," and added that there are members of Congress "who don't like Israel. They hate Israel." Trump noted that such a phenomenon would have been "unthinkable 15 years ago."

The president linked the growing antisemitism to the denial of the Oct. 7 Hamas attack. "There are people who deny it even happened – just like they deny the Holocaust. This didn't happen many years ago; this happened now," he said. According to him, he himself was exposed to footage from the attack, and said, "I saw the tapes. I wish I hadn't seen them." Trump emphasized that his administration will not allow the spread of such phenomena, but called on Jews in the US to be vigilant.

During the event, Dr. Miriam Adelson, publisher of Israel Hayom, was invited to the stage. Trump noted that Adelson contributed to his campaign, "indirectly and directly, $250 million," and described her as "an amazing woman, with a wonderful husband, a man who loved Israel." Adelson, in turn, recalled that she came to the Knesset in October specifically "with a scooter... just to hear you, I wanted to hear you live." She later noted that she recently spoke with attorney Alan Dershowitz, who raised with her the legal thing about "four more years," referring to the possibility of a third term for President Trump.

The president then quipped about Adelson, suggesting she offered to give him "another $250 million" if he ran for a third term.

Later in his speech, Trump sent a clear threat to Hamas. "If Hamas plays games, they will be in big trouble," he said, emphasizing that his administration acted decisively to return all the hostages, both living and fallen, and responded to the call of the families of fallen hostages. According to him, this was an effort that even he thought was impossible, but was completed.

Toward the end, the president addressed the Jewish audience directly and said, "You are protected. You are a special people." He concluded with a symbolic message for the holiday. "The Hanukkah story reminds us that light will always triumph over darkness."

Earlier, during a Hanukkah reception at the White House, US President Donald Trump hosted the Neutra and Alexander families, the parents of late Captain Omer Neutra, killed while held hostage by Hamas, and Staff Sergeant Edan Alexander, who was released from Hamas captivity and re-enlisted in the IDF.

According to Ronen Neutra, Omer's father, "President Trump spoke about the release of the hostages with emphasis on the fallen and called us to the stage, where we emphasized that there is still a fallen hostage, Ran Gvili, who must be returned."

Full disclosure: The Adelson family owns the company that is the primary shareholder in Israel Hayom. Dr. Miriam Adelson is the publisher of Israel Hayom.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports that the duo had actually traveled to the Philippines just weeks earlier, raising fears of links to Islamic State extremists. Police discovered an IS flag and explosives in their vehicle following the rampage that left 16 dead.

The father and son terrorists responsible for the Bondi Beach massacre had falsely informed their relatives they were departing for a fishing trip to Jervis Bay, a deception maintained just weeks after they returned from a suspicious visit to the Philippines, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Multiple law enforcement sources confirmed to the publication that Naveed Akram, 24, and his father, Sajid, had traveled to the Southeast Asian nation in November. The Australian Federal Police is reportedly investigating their movements within that country and the reasons behind the trip, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Authorities are also scrutinizing the pair's potential ties to Islamic State terror ideology after a flag was located in their vehicle at Bondi Beach following the shooting, alongside improvised explosive devices, Nine News reported.

The Islamic State of East Asia (ISEA), a regional branch of the terror group, has been listed as a proscribed terrorist organization by the Australian government since 2017.

"While there are no known links between ISEA and Australia, there have previously been links between Australians and terrorist groups in the Philippines," a briefing document reads.

Security cameras recorded the moment the terrorists launched their plan to massacre Sydney's Jewish community on Sunday, The Sydney Morning Herald reported. This occurred while their family operated under the false belief that the pair was visiting Jervis Bay for the weekend.

In reality, the duo was concealed within a small, grey brick home in Campsie, a short-term rental property that offers nightly accommodation to travelers, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

"He rings me up [on Sunday] and said, 'Mum, I just went for a swim. I went scuba diving. We're going … to eat now, and then this morning, and we're going to stay home now because it's very hot'," Naveed's mother, Verena, said on Monday morning as police swarmed the family residence at Bonnyrigg, Nine News reported.

Video evidence shows one of the gunmen instructing bystanders to clear the area before opening fire on crowds from the pedestrian bridge connecting Campbell Parade and Bondi Pavilion, The Sydney Morning Herald noted.

CCTV footage secured by The Sydney Morning Herald and Nine News captures Sajid and subsequently Naveed departing from 103 Brighton Avenue, Campsie, at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, shortly after the phone call.

The second individual, identified as Naveed dressed in black, appears to manipulate an object in the rear of the vehicle before taking the driver's seat of the silver hatchback, according to the report.

The car pulls out and begins its 40-minute journey to the east, The Sydney Morning Herald stated. Less than 90 minutes later, the first shots were discharged at Bondi Beach.

New footage reveals the father and son hours before they allegedly carried out the terrorist attack, Nine News reported. Naveed, an unemployed bricklayer, and Sajid, a fruiterer, fired into a crowd gathered to celebrate Hanukkah and a Bar Mitzva.

The rampage resulted in 15 fatalities and numerous injuries. Sajid was fatally shot by police at the scene, while Naveed was also shot and remains in critical condition in the hospital, The Sydney Morning Herald reported. Sources told the outlet that Naveed has awoken from his coma.

Police retrieved four weapons at the location and on Monday afternoon confiscated two additional firearms from the rented room in Campsie, Nine News noted. Officers entered and exited the home throughout the day, wearing ballistic vests until the evidence could be removed in large paper bags.

Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke said on Monday that Sajid "arrived in 1998 on a student visa, transferred in 2001 to a partner visa and after trips overseas has been on resident return visas, which occurred three times".

Akram's mother was unable to identify her son from a photo taken at the shooting scene but stated she did not believe he could be involved in violent or extremist acts, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

"He doesn't have a firearm. He doesn't even go out. He doesn't mix around with friends. He doesn't drink, he doesn't smoke, he doesn't go to bad places … he goes to work, he comes home, he goes to exercise and that's it," she told this masthead.

"Anyone would wish to have a son like my son … he's a good boy."

Akram was searching for employment after being retrenched from his bricklaying job about two months prior, following his employer's insolvency, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Although he had many friends during high school at Cabramatta High School, he was not particularly social, Verena told the outlet. She noted he did not appear to spend significant time online, preferring fishing, scuba diving, swimming, and exercise.

Akram appeared to be tagged in a 2022 social media update indicating he had passed his Koran studies at Al-Murad Institute, which teaches Arabic and Koran studies in Heckenberg, western Sydney, according to The Sydney Morning Herald. The post has since been deleted. The man in the photograph, whom The Sydney Morning Herald chose not to identify, stated he had lost contact with Akram in early 2022.

"I am devastated by the images of the victims in Bondi," he said. The man indicated that he and his family had been forced to leave their home after receiving death threats, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

The report concluded that Akram's mother is a stay-at-home parent caring for her elderly mother, while Akram lived at the property with his parents and siblings in a three-bedroom home bought in 2024.

In the 17th century, when the Iranian king from the extremist Shiite dynasty defeated a Sunni Ottoman king, he requested that Iran's name be praised throughout the empire and even in Europe with the words: "Oh, my soul and spirit, Oh, my eternal love, my Iran forever, from the dawn of history your name has been sung, you are above victories and defeats and you will remain forever, the whole world will know your name."

At first glance, this poem appears to be a patriotic song and an expression of loyalty to the homeland, but the hidden meaning, known to many Iranians, promotes continued conquests and the spread of Iran's name throughout the world, whether through military victories or cultural ones.

Since the Iranian Islamic Revolution, the regime, which also sees itself as continuing that extremist Shiite dynasty, has taken this message and developed it into the concept of "exporting the revolution". According to this concept, the Iranian regime strives with all its might and through every resource at its disposal – even at the expense of citizens and domestic challenges (witness the water shortage alongside massive aid to Hezbollah even in recent days) – to export its values everywhere in order to "conquer" every target, in the Middle East and the West, thereby transforming Iran into a superpower.

The means available to the Iranian regime for this goal include propaganda, manipulation, and brainwashing of large audiences, particularly those who do not identify with local authorities.

Thus, along with benefits such as religious events where they also provide food for masses of participants or even the establishment of civilian infrastructure like kindergartens, mosques, and various institutions at the expense of the regime and Iranian citizens for the benefit of these locals, Iranian emissaries buy the loyalty of locals and subsequently use them to advance the Iranian regime's goals – further dissemination of Iranian regime propaganda and even acts of terror or harassment against Jews or believers in liberal and democratic values.

The Iranian regime maintains at least 16 propaganda bodies operating inside but mainly outside Iran, in order to strengthen in their eyes Iranian national security through mass recruitment of immigrants from the Middle East or even locals in European countries, South America, Africa, and Australia.

There has often been substantial public criticism within Iran regarding the massive budgets of these propaganda bodies, which include Iranian television channels in various languages, sending clerics and preachers to all parts of the world to brainwash many and turn them into supporters of the Iranian regime, and the distribution of extensive literature and media, all at the expense of Iran's natural resources and oil revenues.

However, the Iranian leader who manages the propaganda bodies, exactly as he does the Revolutionary Guards, the nuclear issue, and terror, and who holds the real authority in the regime, continues to add more and more to propaganda budgets and does not heed the demands of the few figures within the regime who dare to plead for reduced budgets for the benefit of the water economy, environmental quality, or reducing the cost of living.

Therefore, even if the Iranian regime is not directly responsible for the Australian attacks, it bears indirect responsibility because it has established numerous mosques and Islamic centers on the continent where preachers on behalf of the leader preach against Jews (and not just against Israel), organize demonstrations together with Palestinian supporters but also promote the Iranian narrative and wave Iranian flags and pictures of the leader, and more.

Alongside Qatar, it appears that the Iranian regime has become the main financier and organizer of protest events and attacks against Jews, and it even dares to preach or promote physical harm to Jewish targets, since one of the goals of the Revolutionary Guards and Quds Force is to instill terror in Jews everywhere and bring about their uprooting from their place of residence or reduction of their activities.

Additionally, Iranian activity abroad provides inspiration and a security umbrella for other activists against Jews, and it is possible that reducing Iranian activity would lead to an overall reduction in the activity of other antisemitic organizations.

Dramatic video evidence has surfaced depicting two casualties who physically engaged an armed assailant during the initial phase of Sunday's Bondi beach terror assault, according to The Guardian.

Family members confirmed Boris Gurman, 69, and Sofia Gurman, 61, as the individuals after providing a statement to the Sydney Morning Herald. Relatives stated: "We are heartbroken by the sudden and senseless loss of our beloved Boris and Sofia Gurman," according to The Guardian.

They added: "They had been married for 34 years, with their 35th wedding anniversary approaching in January. We were looking forward to celebrating Sofia's 62nd birthday on Wednesday 17th of December," The Guardian reported.

Dashboard camera video uploaded to Rednote documented Boris – dressed in purple – tackling shooter Sajid Akram along Campbell Parade as the gunman exited a vehicle displaying an Islamic State banner, according to The Guardian.

The footage captures Boris forcing Akram down and wresting a firearm from his possession while Sofia participated in the struggle, The Guardian reported.

A Sydney resident whose camera inadvertently recorded the encounter shared the material with a Mandarin caption stating: "Such civilian heroes shouldn't be forgotten," according to The Guardian. Her post continued: "I'm truly heartbroken," The Guardian reported.

Later drone imagery shows the couple lying motionless side by side on the sidewalk. Family members characterized Boris as "a retired mechanic, known for his generosity, quiet strength and willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. Sofia worked at Australia Post and was deeply loved by her colleagues and community," The Guardian reported.

The statement continued: "Bondi locals, together they lived honest, hardworking lives and treated everyone they met with kindness, warmth and respect. Boris and Sofia were devoted to their family and to each other. They were the heart of our family, and their absence has left an immeasurable void," according to The Guardian.

Relatives additionally praised the couple's valor when facing the attacker, The Guardian reported. "In recent days, we have become aware of footage showing Boris, with Sofia by his side, courageously attempting to disarm an attacker in an effort to protect others," family members stated. They added: "While nothing can lessen the pain of losing Boris and Sofia, we feel an overwhelming sense of pride in their bravery and selflessness. This encapsulates who Boris and Sofia were – people who instinctively and selflessly tried to help others," The Guardian reported.

The statement concluded: "We are deeply grateful for the love, compassion and support that has been shown to our family during this unimaginable time. From here, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve," according to The Guardian.

The Gurmans number among 15 fatalities from the Bondi beach terror attack. Most casualties were participating in Hanukkah's opening day when gunfire began, representing Australia's deadliest mass shooting since 1996's Port Arthur tragedy, according to The Guardian.

Thirty-eight additional people sustained injuries, with 24 – including two officers – remaining hospitalized Tuesday afternoon, The Guardian reported.

Six Australia Post coworkers visited Bondi Pavilion Tuesday afternoon honoring Sofia, with one colleague declining identification while confirming years working together, according to The Guardian. All arrived uniformed, placing individual white roses and a card, The Guardian reported. One coworker stated: "It's very tragic and seeing this video made us realise just how brave she and her husband was," according to The Guardian.

Multiple bystanders have received widespread recognition for confronting danger attempting to halt the attackers. Among them is Ahmed al-Ahmed, acknowledged by prime minister Anthony Albanese and US president Donald Trump for charging toward Akram, jumping onto him and seizing the weapon, according to The Guardian.

Ahmed remains critically injured but stable at St George hospital after sustaining four to five shoulder gunshot wounds during the encounter, his parents confirmed to The Guardian. Reuven Morrison's daughter identified her father as the individual observed throwing an object in widely distributed footage, The Guardian reported.

Sheina Gutnick told CBS News Tuesday: "If there was one way for him to go on this earth, it would be fighting a terrorist. There was no other way he would be taken from us. He went down fighting, protecting the people he loved most," according to The Guardian. Authorities fatally shot Sajid Akram, while his son Naveed remains hospitalized under surveillance, The Guardian reported.

Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney, one of the boldest and most prominent stars of recent years, is used to stealing the spotlight on the red carpet and making waves in advertisements like the one for American Eagle. But Monday night at the premiere of her new film, "The Housemaid", she managed to move us in particular.

The reason? A dramatic, sexy, and elegant dress designed by Israeli fashion house Galia Lahav which made a big splash in Hollywood.

Sweeney chose a design that highlights Galia Lahav's recognizable signature – precise tailoring, rich fabrics, and an unapologetic presence. The choice of an Israeli designer for such a high-profile evening proves once again that Israeli designers are playing in the big leagues.

Behind the international success stands an inspiring story. Galia Lahav began her journey by studying at the Teachers' Seminary for Handicrafts and Art in Givatayim, Israel. She worked as an art teacher at an elementary school in Ashdod, and, in 1985, opened a small fashion design studio in the city, specializing in wedding dresses and unique lace. From the local studio, the path led to Dizengoff in Tel Aviv, and later to a four-story building on Herzl Street.

Today, Galia Lahav's fashion house is a global name with stores in Tel Aviv, Los Angeles and Hamburg, and about 70 points of sale worldwide. In 2016, another historic moment was recorded when the house was accepted into the French Federation of Haute Couture, becoming the first Israeli fashion house to achieve this prestigious accomplishment.

Sydney Sweeney's choice for a high-profile Hollywood event is not just a personal compliment to the designer, but a clear fashion statement – Israeli haute couture, and in the front row of the red carpet.
