A disturbing account emerged Monday night from eastern Gaza as Army Radio reported that reserve soldiers operating in the Yellow Line area of the Shuja'iyya neighborhood witnessed an unusual incident that IDF drones documented Monday afternoon.

Video: The footage showing the Hamas deception

The report said the drone identified suspicious activity when a Hamas tractor started digging a pit in the area. Terrorists then took the body of an Israeli fallen soldier from a nearby structure, put it in the freshly dug pit, and started covering it with dirt. The organization then called the Red Cross to the site and showed them the "retrieval" of the body from the fresh grave.

The footage streamed live to the joint command center in Kiryat Gat and was sent to the Americans. The immediate response was stopping Hamas operatives from entering Israeli-controlled territory. They had entered unarmed and "searched" with the Red Cross and Egyptian officials.

The footage exists but hasn't been released. Soldiers confirmed the entire sequence was fully documented by the IDF drone. The military has not released the material.

Despite Israel's documentary evidence, international pressure on the organization stays limited. Right now, the main sanction is closing the Rafah crossing. Israel has more tools available to increase pressure but doesn't use them at this stage.

The hope is that the field documentation, if and when released, will show the world Hamas' manipulative methods and attempts to distort reality before international actors.

Complex searches for deceased hostage bodies are progressing at four separate Gaza locations, involving Hamas operatives, Egyptian officials, and the International Committee of the Red Cross, while the IDF continues engaging Hamas cells attempting to breach Israeli-controlled areas.

Israel Hayom has learned that Israel is permitting unarmed Hamas operatives to access two sites where intelligence suggests hostage bodies were buried. One location sits in the Khan Younis region, and the other in east Gaza City, between the Shujaiyya and Daraj Tuffah neighborhoods. Hamas operatives indicate the sites, and an Egyptian team escorted by Red Cross representatives is present overseeing the searches.

Within the framework of the arrangement, Israel authorized the importation of tools and engineering equipment from Egypt for the search operations. Concurrently, searches are proceeding at two additional sites in Hamas-controlled areas, where Red Cross personnel and Egyptian teams are also present.

Hamas prevents body delivery to buy time

Israeli officials stress that intelligence information unequivocally demonstrates Hamas has immediate access to multiple additional deceased hostages, and the organization is withholding them to prolong negotiations. The evaluation is that Hamas is leveraging the delayed body delivery to consolidate its territorial control and reinforce its positions for continued negotiations.

Military sources conveyed that Hamas transmitted to the Red Cross multiple points where deceased hostages may have been placed. The Red Cross reached those designated points escorted by Hamas operatives, some of whom traversed the Yellow Line – the demarcation separating Israeli-controlled territory from Hamas-controlled zones.

IDF attacks Hamas cells emerging from tunnels

IDF soldiers continue engaging Hamas cells penetrating Israeli-controlled territory. This morning such an incident occurred deep in the territory, east of Khan Younis, likely involving a Hamas cell that had been in tunnels and surfaced for an attempted strike.

Hamas asserts it has no association with cells deep in the territory or with such attacks, but Israeli officials completely reject the assertion.

Arab media reporting indicated Red Cross and Hamas teams are in Rafah and are anticipated to be in Gaza City as well. Sources engaged with the details stated the Egyptians are taking part in two of the sites – presumably in zones not under direct IDF control. At this juncture, no further official details were furnished regarding the exact locations of the sites or the search outcomes acquired thus far.

As part of the ceasefire agreement and in accordance with Israeli political leadership directives, IDF units under have begun marking the "yellow line" in the Gaza Strip.

This line represents the "new" boundary set inside the Gaza Strip, distinct from the perimeter of the former security fence along the "old" border. Its establishment follows political directives issued as part of the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas.

According to the IDF Spokesperson, "The marking is being carried out on concrete barriers topped with a yellow-painted post standing 3.5 meters (11.5 feet) above the ground," adding that concrete barriers are "being placed every 200 meters. The marking operation will continue."

The yellow line demarcates the areas currently under Israeli control, primarily along major routes and open spaces, from those where Hamas has resumed some level of presence and where Gazans have been gradually allowed to return. Due to Israel's ongoing control of key roads, Hamas' authority in areas vacated by Israeli forces remains incomplete.

Following incidents that violated the ceasefire, including a deadly attack in Rafah on Monday, Defense Minister Israel Katz instructed the IDF to proceed with the yellow line marking and to convey a stern warning to Hamas leadership via the US monitoring mechanism.

"Every Hamas terrorist found beyond the yellow line in territory under Israeli control must evacuate immediately. Hamas leaders will be held accountable for any incident," Katz told IDF officials.

Monday's incident involved terrorists emerging from a tunnel in Rafah and launching an anti-tank missile at a D9 armored bulldozer. The attack killed Maj. Yaniv Kula, a company commander in the Nahal Brigade's 932nd Battalion, and Staff Sgt. Itay Yavetz, a soldier in the elite Erez program.

The yellow line, according to the IDF, aims to reduce friction and improve security coordination amid ongoing tensions. As of now, Israel controls approximately 58% of the Gaza Strip, including all of Rafah in the south, significant portions of Khan Younis, and northern neighborhoods like Beit Lahia and Shujaiyya. Despite these areas being under Israeli control, Hamas forces are still visibly active nearby.
