A teenager whose parents, two young brothers and baby sister were brutally murdered in a terrorist attack in their home in the Samarian settlement of Itamar in 2011 is suing the perpetrators of the attack for 400 million shekels ($115 million).
Tamar Fogel, who was 12 at the time of the attack, is reportedly suing the two terrorists who carried out the attack and their five Palestinian accomplices, as well as the Palestine Liberation Organization, the Palestinian Authority and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
The Shurat Hadin Israel Law Center, which is handling the case, filed the suit one month before the attack becomes subject to the statute of limitations.
Fogel's two surviving younger brothers and 19 other relatives have joined the lawsuit.
The lawsuit also demands an end to Palestinian Authority's policy of paying stipends to terrorists and their families, saying this encourages Palestinians to carry out attacks against Jews.
"To this day, the terrorists receive salaries from the Palestinian Authority, against all reason and justice. … This policy has, without a doubt, led to the attack and murder of people such as the deceased," the lawsuit says.
Shurat Hadin Director Nitsana Darshan-Leitner issued a statement saying, "Even if nearly seven years have passed since that terrible massacre, we will not forget and we will not forgive. The PA will learn that it cannot continue to pay money to baby killers and get away with it."
Israel was stunned by the particularly gruesome attack, in which two Palestinian terrorists from the West Bank town of Awarta breached Itamar's fence, broke into the Fogel home and massacred Rabbi Ehud Fogel, his wife, Ruth, and three of their children – Yoav, 11, Elad, 4, and baby Hadas – as they slept in their beds.
The attackers, Hakim Awad and Amjad Awad, were convicted in the murders and were each given five life sentences.
