Another 13 COVID-19 patients succumbed to the virus on Thursday, bringing Israel's total death toll from the pandemic to 86, in what has been the most corona-lethal day in Israel.
The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Israel hit 9,968 on Thursday, with 121 in serious condition. Israel's recovery-to-death ratio remains extremely high, with 1,011 Israelis having recovered from the virus.

The vast majority of the current patients, 8,075, have light cases of the virus, with 704 being treated at dedicated convalescent facilities and 5,967 receiving treatment at home.
On Tuesday, the Health Ministry announced that Israel has signed a NIS 90 million ($25 million) deal with Chinese firm BGI to procure equipment that will allow it to increase its daily capacity to perform coronavirus tests to at least 10,000.
As part of its efforts to curb the pandemic, the government has imposed a nationwide lockdown over the Passover holiday.
The cabinet also approved a temporary curfew that will begin on Wednesday from 3 p.m. and last until Thursday morning for all Jewish communities. The curfew restricts movement that goes beyond 100 meters (330 feet) from one's home, except under life-and-death situations and other emergencies that meet the well-defined exceptions.
