Rivlin told Pope Francis that "The pandemic is teaching us that there are no borders between us and no person is immune. We are all battling a brutal enemy, together, and we will overcome it, together."
The president also expressed his appreciation for the pope's contribution to the worldwide battle against anti-Semitism and asked him to keep spreading the message in light of a wave of anti-Semitism that is targeting Jews in the context of coronavirus, accusing them of profiting from the pandemic.
Rivlin expressed the Jewish people's best wishes to the Christians, who will soon be celebrating Easter, which begins on Sunday.
