Dozens of pieces of graffiti against Health Minister Yakov Litzman were found spray-painted in Jerusalem's Mea Shearim neighborhood on Sunday morning.
The slogans found in over 50 places in the ultra-Orthodox community read "Litzman = murderer" and "Litzman = Amalek," a reference to the biblical archenemy of the Jewish people.

According to Channel 12 News, the police launched an investigation into the case. Municipal maintenance crews were sent to clean up the graffiti.
The graffiti appeared after the government approved a lockdown of Haredi neighborhoods in the capital with high rates of coronavirus infections.
It is believed to be the work of Neturei Karta, a radical ultra-Orthodox group formed in 1935 that opposes Zionism and calls for a dismantling of the State of Israel, in the belief that Jews are forbidden to have their own state until the coming of the Messiah.
