Kim underwent a cardiovascular procedure on April 12 over "excessive smoking, obesity, and overwork," according to the Daily NK news site, and was now receiving treatment in a villa in Hyangsan County.
Pyongyang officials rushed to deny reports that Kim was gravely ill but offered no information about his medical condition.
There has been speculation over Kim's health after he was absent from an event marking the anniversary of the birthday of its founding father and Kim's grandfather, Kim Il Sung, on April 15.
