Gunshots were fired from the southern Gaza Strip at civilian construction crews working on the security barrier near the Israel-Gaza border, the IDF said.
No injuries were reported among the civilians or IDF troops patrolling the area. Construction on the border was halted and the troops escorted the civilian workers away from the site safely.

Palestinian media reported that the IDF fired toward Hamas sites in the vicinity of Deir al-Balah following the incident. The IDF did not confirm the reports.
