The Knesset's Constitution Committee on Thursday rejected a petition by the Israeli football and basketball associations to allow practice sessions to take place despite the coronavirus outbreak.
This has effectively suspended both premier leagues indefinitely.

An Israel Football Association official said, "The health minister is completely detached from the sporting reality. This could kill entire [sports] disciplines and it will cost the country hundreds of millions of shekels in the long run."
