Some 4,883 Israelis have been fined over the past 24 hours for violating the restrictions imposed as part of the coronavirus lockdown, the police said Tuesday.
Police officers clashed with ultra-Orthodox protesters in several neighborhoods in Jerusalem, where demonstrators hurled bottles, stones, and various other objects at them.

Two officers were lightly wounded and some property damage was caused. The police arrested 18 people.
