Israel carried out the assassination of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, the head of Iran's illicit nuclear program, CNN reported on Wednesday. The news outlet said the source did would not say whether the Trump administration knew of the attack ahead of time or took part in its logistical aspects.

According to the official, Israel regularly share information with the US about their targets and commando missions before carrying them out. Fakhrizadeh has been a target for Israelis for a long time, the official added.
Iran has blamed Israel for the assassination but has yet to provide concrete evidence of Israeli involvement. Israel has neither denied nor claimed responsibility for the attack.
