Iconic singer, actor and Israel Prize-winner Yehoram Gaon is considering running for president of Israel, Kan 11 News reported Wednesday.
President Reuven Rivlin's seven-year term is slated to end in the summer of 2021. To vie for the presidency, a candidate must have the support of at least 10 incumbent lawmakers.

According to the report, a social media campaign has been launched to convince MKs to back Gaon's presidential run. The singer himself is still considering the move, his associates said.
