A Shin Bet security agency officer mistakenly opened fire at an Israeli vehicle near Ramallah on Tuesday morning. No injuries were reported. The agency said it was investigating the incident.

According to available details, the Israeli vehicle apparently involved in an accident with a Palestinian vehicle close to an Israeli checkpoint. The Israeli driver reportedly started to accelerate in an attempt to flee the scene, at which point the Shin Bet officer opened fire, apparently believing the driver was trying to carry out a ramming attack.
