Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin called on the judges presiding over Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's corruption trial to postpone the evidentiary hearing in the prime minister's corruption trial until after the March 23 elections, so as not to taint the result.

"It is difficult to ignore the fact that the proceedings against the prime minister repeatedly expose all that ails the judicial system," he said.
He warned that if the proceedings continue at this time, "We will again witness gross interference in the election process by the judiciary."
The evidentiary stage in Netanyahu's case is set to begin on Monday, Feb. 8.
